I am norwegian, and I am glad this series enlighten the world of our Viking history.

I was listening to this when my wife asked me to go borrow a couple eggs from our neighbor…long story short, I have expanded our lands, and our neighbors home is now my own, we shall never want for eggs again.

The best moment about season 4A was Harald and Halfdan singing this song

This is not music, This is an emotion. I listen to this song daily.

For me, that moment was also one of the saddest in the series. Seeing Harald and Halfdan singing that song just before going into battle and on opposite sides made my heart clench.

An amazing TV series, I still can't accept the fact that it ended.

Watching this video makes my Scott - Irish roots come to life. The Vikings settled in Scotland and eventually many Scott’s immigrated to America into the Appalachian mountains. These are my roots. They lived the old way with their own laws of the land. In the last 30 years life there has changed but they hung on to the past for nearly 250 years. . “Wild and Wonderful West Virginia “ “Almost heaven West Virginia “. Go mountaineers”. Powerful video. There is a much proof that the Vikings came to America. I believe this from what I’ve learned in all the different places I’ve lived from the Atlantic north east coast to Minnesota to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan on the shores of northern Lake Superior. The Vikings left mark.

I think the scene of the Viking boats leaving is the most astonishing thing I have ever seen - the series is brilliant - utterly brilliant and the song sung in this video makes me wish I had come from Norsemen heritage....instead, my ancestors probably stood on the shores of Essex in absolute shock and horror at such a sight as the longboats arriving...a fleet like this must have been like seeing the arrival of hell (I can't help feeling excitement though and some weird connection to these people though . Weird!

I come from Norwegian and Irish stock. I studied early medieval history in Dublin. I’ve studied both Old Norse and Old Irish. The contacts between the Vikings and the Irish fascinate me. I have read the sagas and the accounts of the Vikings from the Irish monasteries. Most of this stuff is now available in English, if anyone is interested

The sheer ominous, loneliness, brutality, harmoniousness of this song speaks to my soul instilling a longing for a bygone era. Born at the wrong place and time.

What an incredible project this series was.

You know, when most people talk about explorers they tend to talk about the spanish or the british. But i say the VIKINGS were the REAL explorers of the world. They didnt do it JUST out of necessity, they did it because they also had that human urge to see the unkown stronger than any other group of people. I mean how many civilizations do you know thag were willing to sail across what ti them could very well be an endless ocean in tiny boats like that? I mean it WAS A VIKING who ACTUALLY discovered America after all. Leif Ericson was the real discoverer of America, NOT Columbus.

I felt Lagartha's death like I had lost a family member. Never have I legitimately felt my heart break and actually cry over a character's death. She was a role model girls should follow and not some of that mess out there singing about their "WAP". Such a strong and beautiful woman inside and out. Brought tears to my eye. Was a huge fan of babylon 5 in the 90s. I was a teenager than in New Zealand but came from war torn Yugoslavia. Mira Furlan a Croatian actress for Ambassador Delenn also was cool. A lot of the main actors have passed as we all must. A cosmic conflict just like the conflicts on earth, good vs evil.

When I get anxiety, I watch this. Calms me every time. I'm made in America with Norwegian parts. It always makes me feel like my ancestors are behind me. Strengthening me and comforting me at the same time.

Ive been searching my whole life for a religion that fills me. Ive battled certain trials.that crutched my heart,soul,moral compass, etc. It's not until I decided enough is enough and then my mother who is wicca introduced me to nordic / paganism. NOW my life has drastically changed to heal not just myself but others around me. I listen to this song daily and without fail is fills me with strength. Daily I give thanks but it requires me to get on my knees in nature which I used to think was wrong since.NOTHING should make a man Bowe BUT getting over this immature notion and realizing you need to do this as a way of humbling yourself and feeling/exsperiencing their.presence, responses, and love. I want impress upon individuals this SAVED me and PRAY it saves you as well.
