What's going on ladies and gents! It's Mod 1 test day and I wanted to bring you along for the ride.. I hope you enjoy the video, leave a like and drop a comment below.
+EvolutionMotovlogs i live in maidstone and i keep thinking i see you riding past me is there any chance we could meet and go on a ride I'm on a 50cc moped but you have made me want to ride more and ride bigger bikes
Recently came across this channel and absolutely love the content. I've just passed my CBT and I've been looking at the MT-125, think it could be a very good contender.
The A2 license is a pain in the ass...basically you have to be over the age of 25 to be able to do the test on a 600cc. If you are under the age of 25 and over the age of 19 you must do the test on a restricted bike it doesn't matter what cc it is in the eyes of the law and examiners. What the bike has to be is under 47 horse power and not be any less than 170kg so stops you from jumping on a 2 stroke Italian rocket that'll put out 60 horsepower and weighs less than an Americans thigh. Once you have had your A2 license for 2 years you can ride up to a 600cc. Still need to wait until you are 25 to do your A license though and be able to ride anything you want -.- also how many Cbt's you had? and did the A2 license not interest you? Cheers for the upload!
in my country you can ride every 125 cc with no restriction with the a1 license and the a2 your bike needs to be under 35kwand there is no learning licens you get the full license right away
I just failed my first attempt at an A2 license because of a 10cm skid on my emergency stop. The skid was measured because it was so small yet they had to fail me. I'm just going to wait 8 months until I'm 24 now and resit both mods and hopefully end up with a full license.
+Oliver Stevens Ahh man, it's so frustrating when you receive a 'fail' for small silly minor things. Best of luck with whatever route you take. A2 resit or full license :)
EvolutionMotovlogs Thanks man :) good luck with mod 2 and I love your MT-125! Had a look at one today, thinking about part exchanging my Honda CBR125R for one.
Congratulations mate, glad to see you advancing in the motorbike world. Maybe one day I'll see you if I come and ride with you, but I'm not old enough yet. Anyway well done, keep making these vids theyre great.
I took 4 tries to pass my Mod 1 when I did my DAS, only times I made any errors was on the tests. Hour or so perfect practice before the tests and then ride to the test centre and cock it up lol. When I was finally booked in for the test I passed I hadn't ridden anything for 2 weeks, drove to the test centre after work, my instructor delivered the bike for me and I just jumped on and did it and pissed it. I decided to adopt the same approach for the Mod 2 a couple of weeks later and sailed through that with one minor.
literally been watching all the aprilia videos in the past, before I was allowed to get a 50cc, I ended up getting a ped, and like they're no fun at all so now I'm just watching all these 125 videos, waiting until Im 17 lmao
Been riding for 3 days now, passed the CBT 10 days ago limited to a 125 Apache but its a fun bike. Once I am a few months into the swing of it, its DAS on a 650 bandit slightly intimidated by that but early days still.
Hi man! Where did u buy your exhaust kit for your old Aprilia RS 50? A friend of mine got a Derbi GPR 50 witch is almost same as the Aprilia just with different fairings etc.
hello im a teen who is hopefully going to get there A1 i have been told if you get a A1 you should find a 125cc motorbike but when i went on autotradar they have a gsxr750 which says you can ride it with a A1 im just a bit confused.
+Stubbs Module 1 is £15 and Module 2 is £75. I'm just booking mine independently but you can train with a motorcycle instructor but will cost you around £300.
Ayup mate, just one question about the A1 (Module 1) test. I have a Yamaha yzf r125 your old bike funny enough, and I've had it for about a month and I really want to do my A1 test so I can take the L plates off and ride on motorways. So do you think that I can do the A1 test with just 1 month of riding on a 125? I seem quite confident but just your opinion will help. Also how much did your test cost? Congrats on passing and hope you pass your a2 soon! Keep up the good videos mate. Cheers
+Dangerous M8 Ultimately you will be the only one to answer that question. If you are confident enough and have the riding ability to pass it then go for it! It's only £15 to book on your own motorbike at a local test center. Just remember, you'll need to be able to perform figure of eight, riding through cones, emergency stop and some other stuff. IF you don't think you are ready, give it some time and practice or alternatively book some lessons with a instructor. I hope this helps mate :)
I went in today to my local training center and they said it's best to take lessons before i jump straight into doing the actual test but it's so expensive to do. There is the problem that the bike I have doesn't have the best turning circle as you would know yourself and i wouldn't feel confident to do it on my own bike and the bloke i spoke to today said that i have to use my own bike :( I might just keep trying the test to see if i can pass because it was £500 for a full training course at the place i went to today but i can't afford that atm.
Of course they would suggest extra training, if you can afford it then it's a no brainier but as you've explained it's just ridiculously expensive. Keep practicing in your own time and give the MOD1 a shot - what have you got to loose? Admitadley, the poor turning circle does make it a little difficult.
Yea might just give it a go, it is around £15 which isn't too bad to be honest, do you know how many times you can attempt it? if it's a few times i might as well just do it instead of spending £500 on training and still fail. I might just give it a shot. The only thing i think that is making me not do it is that the bike isn't the best for it. Thanks for your help anyway mate, keep up the good vids!
+Dangerous M8 In theory there is no limit! However if you are struggling after an attempt or two it may be worth booking some training as oppose to trying to bluff it. I'd say go for it and see how you get on! Thanks for watching and stay awesome :)
You may have already done a video on this question, if so sorry. But what riding position do you prefer between the R125 and MT125 and why? I'll be taking my test in June but I've only ridden a commuter and I'm trying to decide what style of bike to get after my test.
I'm not evo and I don't own either of those bikes, but I can say that the r125 has a more sport bike position - hunched over slightly ( though not uncomfortable ) and the mt-125 is more upright. The mt-125 is a more commuter friendly bike as it has a better turning circle and can carry panniers. Hope some of that made sense..
+6Twisted It's not something I have covered specifically in a video but I do plan to do an comparison. I've ridden three sportsbikes and loved every one of them. The seating position is not designed for long commutes but is something which you will adapt to. Overall, a more upright position such as the MT is and always will be more comfortable. The style of motorbike you ride is up to you, I'd suggest having a test ride or at least sit on the bike you may be interested in.
+Zabeyy Remember, a CBT is not a test - it's just training. If you met the training requirements you will get your CBT Certificate! Just be sure to pay attention to your instructor on the day, keep the nerves down and most importantly just enjoy it! Also, if you haven't done already I would recommend to revise your highway code and theory.
EvolutionMotovlogs I’m 30 and can’t decide to do the Mod1 / 2 on a 125 or a 600 😏 I did Mod1 training for a hour on a 650 and it was stressing me out as I couldn’t get use to the speeds going through the speed trap around 32mph. as my friend said doing it on a 125 you would be doing the same speeds on a 125 doing your Mod1. any advice or tips?
EvolutionMotovlogs sorry he said I wouldn’t be doing the same speeds on a 125, he said on a 125 you wouldn’t be going through the trap at 32 as that’s only required on a bigger bike. what speeds do you need to require while doing it on a 125?
+Jamie Langley Thanks mate! I am unable to do my A2 for 12 months so decided to go for the A1 - it's got a few perks and will give me an advantage to when it comes round to the A2. However, I could just stay on a CBT If I want to.
It's £450 if you do a training course with a test centre. If you are ready to do so, you can book the Mod 1 and Mod 2 yourself with the test centre. Mod 1 is approx £15 and Mod 2 is approx £75 - plus you need to pass your theory test.
Hello mate, great videos and i just wanted to ask a quick question about the height of the Aprilia RS 50 height because im 15 and wanted to get this as my first bike and i wanted to know about the size and if you know any smaller bike, if you could reply would mean alot and would help me out.
+Wolf Knives Hey! The seat height of the Aprilia RS50 is 810mm. It's generally low enough for the majority of people, once you've got some motorbike boots on that'll boost you a few inches!
How much did you pay for your your A1? Oh and did you have to have paid training before hand? Does it cost more if you don't do it on your bike? Sorry for asking so many questions haha. Looking to sit my A1 asap.
Mod 1 was approximately £15 and Mod 2 was approximately £75. I didn't take any training before hand, I booked it directly with the test enter myself on my motorbike. You'll need to do the test with a training centre if you want to borrow a motorbike etc.
Not a problem, happy to help! Always welcome to PM me on FB, Insta or RU-vid if you have any other questions. If you've not ridden before and want to get a 125cc, I'd recommend doing your CBT - could be an option? Thanks for the support, STAY AWESOME ^_^.
EvolutionMotovlogs - Well, thank you! I'll hold you to that haha. I've recently just taken my CBT. I've got an Aprilia RS 50 - just for a few months until I get used to the gears and then move up to a 125cc.
Anytime! Oh nice, once you've got some experience and you're ready - as long as your 17+ you can go straight onto a 125cc. The A1 is great in terms of, No L plates, motorway access and such but if you've got a CBT and have other plans it may just be easier to renew your CBT or do the A2. Depends on your situation I guess.. :)
Hi man I have a couple questions. The first being that I am very nearly 16 and I'm going to get an aprilia rs50 as my first bike and I want to know how easy it is to pass a CBT test?
+CoasterFreakzz500 Top 10's and showdowns The CBT course is quite straight forward and simple for most people. It's not necessarily a test - it is a whole day course which you spend with an instructor who teaches you how to ride safely. If you meet a safe standard you will obtain a pass certificate - if you do not, just revisit for another CBT and polish up on whatever you may be falling behind on. Most times you can pass first time, others can take a few attempts! To get a head start, revise your highway code and theory. Also, there are plenty of videos and information online for first time riders.
hey man been trying to read though the comments but there's sooooo many lol. is it after the A2 you will get to ride 250cc???? I been trying to research sooooo much but boy am I confused
Indeed. A1 and A2 are essentially the same test - consist of a theory test, module 1 & 2. Difference being the A2 is your restricted license and the A1 is 125cc only.
I am doing my A1 Licence the same time you are doing yours haha I am doing my A1 on my own motorcycle Honda varadero xl125. I have passed my mod 1 on the 24th of March and my Mod 2 is on the 15th of april. I thought you allready had A1 licence because I did not see an L plate on your Yamaha YZF-R125 in the front windsheild?
+SniipEnDCAE The YZF-125 as it's more aero-dynamic at high speeds. Much more wind resistance on the MT125. In all honesty though, they are almost identical acceleration and top speed.
A1 is your full license for a 125cc - so yes, the requirement is to do the tests on a 125cc. A2 is your full license restricted to 47bhp. I sat my test on a 500cc.
CBT is your compulsory basic training (allows you to ride 50cc at 16, 125cc at 17). The A1 is the full license for a 125cc (no L plates required, can carry pillions and access motorways).
If i have done my cbt at 16 , do i have to do another cbt for a 125? If so can i do the a1 test without having to do another 125 cbt? Thanks in advance!
Nope, Your CBT license is valid for two years. When you turn 17 you can simply ride a 125cc without any further tests e.c.t You just need to purchase, tax and insure the motorcycle of course..
Videos are much better with the chin mount man. Actually can't wait until I get get my 125... Or a road legal one at least. Could I ask a cheeky question and ask who your insurance is and how much it cost? Hit me up on Instagram if you don't want to post it here but yknow money's tight for most people eh so kinda wanted an idea. Anyway, great video, pretty informative, stay awesome and ride safe son
+Kyle TheTreeKat I think so too! Insurance wise it has fluctuated so much from bike to bike. My MT125 is about £600-£700 Fully comprehensive (2 year NCB). However my Aprilia RS50 was £450 third party fire and theft with 0 no claims bonus.
+EvolutionMotovlogs that's not bad, still have to work at my dad though to let me have one, I've ridden bikes and quads and stuff all my life but I get where he's coming from safety wise. I don't think a 50 would move me to be honest 😂 and yknow 32 on a 70mph road to get to town is gonna get me killed, Idk I'll sort something out haha. Who is your insurance provider if you don't mind me asking?
+Venutius Mica Teetonka This is quite a common question as motorbikes are seen quite dangerous! Luckily for me, my brother already owned a motorbike and had been riding which made it much easier for me. Perhaps suggest about purchasing full riding gear (personally I wouldn't ride without) and keep persistent. You'll get through eventually ;)
EvolutionMotovlogs Eh, my dad is willing to help out. He rode in the days when plastics only covered the handlebars. She can't really do shit if I buy everything.
i'm 32 and currently ride MT125 and doing DAS next month, what's the difference doing the mod 1 on the MT to a bigger bike? slow control is so easy on the MT i could probably do the slalom with just throttle but that seemed so much harder on Z650 i tried out as a tastrr for the DAS
Hi Andy G, theoretically the test is identical in terms of the pass criteria and what you'll be doing. The only real difference is the motorbike that you're demonstrating your competence on. The 125's are very nimble, light weight and forgiving. Once you've adapted to the extra throttle power, braking power, weight and how the bigger bikes feels you'll ace it.
Apologies for the slow reply, your DAS must be soon approaching! The mod 1 & 2 tests are identical, you're literally just demonstrating capability on a larger motorbike. The 'bigger bike' is obviously heavier, it's got more 'go power' and better 'stop power'. Other than that, in essence they're identical. You just need a few hours or days to adapt to the bigger bike, principal is the same.
EvolutionMotovlogs yeah after 3 days of training so far i see what you mean about adapting to the bike and i have adapted but i still think a 125 is easier to ride and this Z650 seems to vibrate a lot compared to my MT 125
+Opus 0 It varies dependent on what motorcycle test centre you go with. I think it'll be a £300-£500 (this includes bike hire, insurance and so forth).
They will teach you 99% of everything you need to know on the day. HOWEVER - you can get ahead of the game and prepare yourself by learning and revising the highway code/theory. I also spent some time learning the basic controls as to, where everything is located and how to change gears.
Just pointing it out, audio is a little unbalanced with voice etc. You sounded a little quiet :) edit - Nevermind! Just the first 10-15 seconds and it picked up.
How much does the A1 license cost, everything pre-test and also with the cost of the test added on, I really want to start riding but money is really tight for me right now.
Callum Payton Yeah I was wondering what the costs were, thats not too bad, I guess the only problem is buying the bike and the insurance plus fuel costs.
+ThatWolffe At 16 you can ride a 50cc on a CBT. At 17 you can ride a 125cc on a CBT. The CBT is a one day training course and will cost approximately £100. The A1 is for riders with a CBT (Mod 1 is £15, Mod 2 is £75).
No worries at all! If you are 21 you have a few other options to jump on a bigger motorbike. But if you want to start on a 125 - the CBT is the way to go.
Oh damn I missed that! I had already passed my theory for when I was doing my car test. You'll need to do a theory test for your A1. It's around £20 I believe.
+EvolutionMotovlogs thank you, I'm picking up my mt in a couple of weeks and I've gotta go along quite a few roads that are the national speed limit and was worried if I would be able to do it as I've heard the manual says do not exceed 6000 rpm in the first 600 miles
Oh I understand. Yes, you'll need to be careful how you ride for the break in period! Low revs and be sure to keep them variable - not at one set limit.
+BIKELIFE HD It all depends on your background knowledge. If you are fairly familiar with the 'roads and the rules' and have had some past experience on a motorbike you'll fly through with your eyes shut. If you are new to the road and riding it's still achievable with much ease - just pay attention, focus and do some theory revision before hand. Remember a CBT is not a test, it's just training so you can take multiple sessions if you are not ready on your first.
EvolutionMotovlogs I got lucky with the damage, the glass housing for the indicator smashed, scufffed bar end, ball part of clutch lever snapped off and a lil scratch on the back of a mirror
Hey im a relatively new design channel (have been photoshopping for longer, just not on youtube ;) ), but I could make you a new banner if you want me too? Would be a fun project I think!
