In this episode, I make the final 400 odd kilometers to Luanda, the capital of Angola. Alaska, my Honda CRF300 Rally is running poorly since the little river incident in the Congo, and tons of other abuse. I've heard good things about this motorcycle shop in Luanda, so let's see if they can fix her up!

@billcook4768 I found her vids about a year ago. I began watching as she was beginning her trip through BC, Canada and up to finish in Alaska. This was her ride from Patagonia to Alaska. I live in BC so her trip though my home province was of interest to me. THEN I saw that she was travelling through West Africa. GOOD! I lived and worked in Nigeria for two years MANY years ago, and also had a small motorcycle. I rode that machine through most of Nigeria and to Niger, Benin, Togo and back and also into Cameroon and back to Nigeria. So I watched all of her vids from Ghana to Cameroon... and continue to watch her now. Nigeria has NOT changed very much in the decades since I was there, and the police shaking people down for money was a common occurrence. I never gave anyone any money though I was detained ("arrested"!) three times. It was never an easy ride in Nigeria because of corrupt cops, unlike the other countries that I visited. I commend her courage and stamina.

I believe they blew you kisses 7:32, because they were genuinely amazed by your prowess, the fact that you're a female biker. They even asked it to confirm it 6:22 ''é menina ou rapaz?'' = is it a girl or a boy?, to which our local friend replied, ''é menina'' = it's a girl, while putting his hands on his head as it has might just been blown away, after his confirmation, the young guys started throwing their appreciation at you. As you were there, you can tell being a biker is somewhat of a lifestyle for most young Angolans. However, you don't see any female biker. As a born and raised Angolan, I used to feel the same way towards female bikers, riders or racers, even now, it just makes my day. I recently came to Europe and female bikers are pretty much every corner (compared to Angola), I always show appreciation! Thanks for visiting my country, moreover, for taking us to a breathtaking, detailed and in-depth journey to Africa. YOU ROCK!!🔥

The guys in the petrol station were very nice to you, Noraly. The guy who was queueing was saying that the petrol station manager was demanding his staff to better organise the station as surely he wasn't happy with the way things looked so that's why they weren't attending the public at that moment. But he also asked you to go in and speak with the manager to see if he could open an exception and attend you instead of staying in the queue with them. I could also hear the lady at the petrol station asking her male colleague to go speak with you in English as he knew some English. Hence the guy coming to speak to you in English. Your channel really brings out the differences, platforms the people and places in ways that are almost never done in western media. Angola had a 27 year civil war that ended in 2002 but in reality it's a country with modern infrastructure since the 1940s. The city in the video (Luanda) was founded in 1576 and it has a long history. It has even an old portuguesese fortress called "Fortaleza de São Miguel". Most of the streets that you saw in the video are from around the 1950s.

Some sad memories of my Country of birth. Never ever returned to Angola, I'll never forget the atmosphere , gunfire and mortars in and around that city. Eloped in the middle of the night on a TAP 707 to Johannesburg after spending 3 nights at the airport before taking off with no lights on runway or aircraft for that matter watching my late Mother crying her eyes out as we circled on a left hand outbound to South Africa that would accommodate us as refugees in 1975.

Noraly’s generous smile and hearty laughter wins them all , where ever she goes. As for her followers on RU-vid , there are so many aspects that one is mesmerised with. I for one really loved her conversation with us viewers while riding when she explained all parts of Africa she has been to. The most important thing that keeps her going apart from her iron will is her care for her bike. Good job Noraly , you must be feeling much happier riding Alaska after the service. I can't speak for her specifically - but on youtube travel vlogs, you're only seeing 20 minutes, out of perhaps a week of traveling. The most fun, nice or interesting parts are put into the vlog. I can imagine that most vloggers won't put in their lowest moments, because either they are concerned with other things than turning on a camera while going through an existential crisis, or they know that people might not want to see it and quit watching if there's a lot of negativity in the vlog - harming viewership and income. But one thing's for sure: Noraly never gives up. Even when things go really bad, next week she'll just be riding to another country again. I'm amazed.

Your opinions of all of the African countries you have visited in the last 12 years aligns pretty much with my own experience Noraly. When you first entered the various West African countries, many here warned you of the difficulties you would face, both physical and from dealing with corrupt officials etc. I myself was derided and accused of colonial preconceptions and lack of knowledge by some commentators, but everything you experienced came as no surprise to me (a Nigerian resident for 5 years). What did surprise me is that both you and Alaska actually made it through, congratulations.
