@@replayamv1492doesn't need to be a competition though, having read fan translations of the oni sisters of the hidden village ex Rem has a lot to her, but I think what makes her special isn't really as much as what makes her and Ram together great. Like their characters are too linked so what's more impactful is them as sisters. People probably like them less because they're thinking of Rem as having Subaru as a crush and Ram with Roswaal but their development is much more about each other. Arcs 6-8 plus oni village ex spoilers: The way Ram has never shown the pain she goes through and feels happy in life despite or even because of it, she'd rather have been a failure than just be admired for and controlled by her power, which is why she stopped wanting revenge. And that she'd never have felt that way about her upbringing if Rem wasn't there, but she thinks these things when she's forgotten about Rem so all her motivations are mixed up and don't make sense to her without coming back to the memories which were stolen. And Rem who buried even what she thought at the time Ram lost her horn because it was traumatic and gradually gets back memories while hunting down the witch cultists who attacked them. Arc 8 is where we finally get Rem having an arc of her own which won't be unhealthily latching onto others, when she woke without her memories and had to deal with the witch scent triggering her and Subaru trying to tell her things she wasn't ready to deal with about Louis, she chose to redirect her pain onto him instead of Louis since it was too hard to direct it onto an innocent looking child. She finally has to confront her long history of losing control and using hatred for the witch cult as an outlet, since Subaru's now got his whole redeeming everyone thing going on. Anyway Emilia has just as much depth and I think they're all amazing, made me cry 10/10,
