I love how her lyrics can apply in so many ways.. thats how you know she is a good songwritter it can always apply in so many ways,... her screams are on point too, she does the 2 techniques of screaming she does, the long scream is made with the diagphragm and the other last scream after the last chorus is made with like the back of the throath, she has a video teaching people how to scream called "Questions about screaming by Lacey Sturm" lol, not asking you to react to it, but yeah she basically teaches how to do both screams although both require a lot of practice to perfect how to do them. I loved this song, she is supposedly releasing the full album by the end of the year, She has 4 singles out since 2021

to answer you Skillet or Flyleaf question: Lacey is from Flyleaf...but she is good friends with the members of Skillet. she even filled in for Jen's(their drummer's) vocals when Lacey toured with them and Jen wasn't able to. but yes, Lacey is from Flyleaf. she's still doing the solo band thing BUT she's currently has joined Flyleaf in a small reunion tour in the US- so Flyleaf fans are excited about that.

This song is about her relationship with Jesus. How she tries to overcome pride and vanity on her own. She tries to fight her own sin nature apart from God’s strength. So when she says “beckon your help, change my mind. reckon myself dead and die” it’s about letting God’s Spirit live through her and change her. 😊
