To me, the whole point of paying for a good colorist is for your hair color to look natural. They did a great job. On the other hand, you probably would get the same effect from a week at the beach.

I know a guy in an apt complex in Queens who was on a parking space list for 14 years. When his name came up to get one of the spaces HE WENT OUT AND BOUGHT A CAR. He didn't own one before that... (only in NYC)

This is a great idea, to combine a vlog with apt. tours. I'm shocked that anyone in NYC would have a truck, let alone one that size. Wow. That's a truck for a Texan. I'm from Houston, and that kind of vehicle is everywhere there. Your advice in the early part of this video is spot-on: that doing something over and over again is the only way to get good at it, with the understanding that the time invested is not retrievable. Meaning that the decisions people make about how they invest time should be conscious choices. In my opinion, even time investments that have little or no ultimate yield are still valuable in teaching you where your next move should be. Anyone who never made a mistake never tried something new. Inertia prevents personal growth. And your family is lovely. Thank you for including them. Your hair color looks brighter, a little sunnier. That's always a mood lifter. Plus, you helped keep that hair stylist employed. If paying that much for a cut and color doesn't break your bank, it's a win-win!

I think you said it in one of your videos before, but always test every faucet/toilet/sprayer... In my new place, the kitchen had a separate sprayer and it turns out it wasn't connected to anything, and there was no place to connect it under the sink (I spent more time than I should have researching...)

That truck is from the south for sure..i have seen 5 already drive by my house this morning..and the noise must be awful with little violet that's awful buddy..my poor sister has small kids and a neighbor who has a loud large dog he neglects and it barks non stop and it drives her nuts...shes tried everything too to try to get the neighbor to quiet that poor dog down...all hours of the night and she works from home so it's never ending..my ❤ goes out to you and your wife man...truly that sucks

@@SA-zu5kf I love that you're a city woman and live where the trucks a big...I don't mind the big ones..its the loud ones that are awful...and God bless you and your poor dogs...I know my poor sister is ready to move now because of her neighbors dogs...I love dogs..I have 2 I just don't think a person should allow their animals to infringe on other's space and to bark non stop day and night. My dogs only bark if someone comes into my yard..and I too live in the country...on 2 acres of land and i still don't let my animals be rude :)

@@SA-zu5kf that sounds really rough...wow that many animals and nobody has called animal control or did they and then the animal control people do nothing..its sad you need a shotgun on a mountain to talk your dogs for a walk except for use on bears and well crazy people it seems these days..I will tell her about that product on Amazon..she just never gets any rest and has kids in school and she works from home like you so there's really just no escaping that problem unless you move unfortunately which she is really considering hard even though she loves her house...she knows she can't have it both ways unfortunately though...I feel she shouldn't have to move because people can't control their animals personally...its relentlessly never ending

My ex-husband was from Ridgewood and when we went to visit his family I could not understand why people had huge pickup trucks or Hummers. Also, the first time that I visited his family the next apartment's door was no more than a few inches away from his and he had no idea who lived there. His family had been in that apartment for over 20 years.

@@panamasrose I disagree. I'm born and raised here and know all my neighbors on my floor, and am friendly with others in the building. Especially during Covid, it was a blessing to be surrounded by people you trust and like. And pre Covid when I took a leave of absence to live overseas for a summer, they made sure the person subletting was behaving. Being an unfriendly neighbor is so not New York!

@@lindagarrido4353 one of my neighbours down the hall is one of my best friends, and a few years ago, another neighbour became a friend when my elderly Mom (of whom I am primary caregiver) fell and broke her arm while I was out - this lady and her daughter called 911, and myself (I was on my way home), and stayed with her until I got there.

I say visit first. Either come at Christmas or during the summer. It's a great place to live. Our subway system is the best so you don't have to live in Manhattan to have access to everything.

Ken’s rating: I lost track... but the only one I “liked” was the one the guy was painting... it wasn’t impressive, but the price under $2,000 was impressive. No dishwasher, no ensuite laundry, but seems typical... For the $172 haircut, I think they should comb it out everyday. I agree with your wife that I don’t see much difference. But, we’re talking “on camera” which is a whole different ballgame.

I always wondered how people in real estate who rent, select their own places and how often they move. I mean, they get to see all the best places before anyone else. There must be some apartments they just go "yep, I'm taking this myself". Or is it frowned upon by agencies?

The second and third apartments were very nice for the money. They look like true two bedroom apartments, and the buildings are well maintained and are in a good neighborhood. Your apartment seems spacious enough for the three of you, although places look bigger in videos. It seems like you would do best to stay there and save your money to buy something more permanent in the future.
