OMG WHAT this is so crazy I kid you not she was my dance teacher in Saipan when I was 7 or 8. We used to call her ms Victoria as well. She is one of the reasons why I still dance today:,,)
as a foreigner I'd say it's not really pleasant when someone tries to speak English to you just because of your look. Imagine you'll be somewhere abroad and foreigners will tell you "konichiva" supposing you are Japanese. Not all foreigners are English speaking and not all of them are from US. Just keep in mind we are visiting Korea not to make an English practice for you and we also need some personal space.
@@MaruskaStarshaya yeah but he wasn't rude or anything... he's just a curious kid and a really intelligent one at that What you're saying I get it.. but even if he's a really intelligent kid... those things he will learn much later in life... Not all white speaks English Not all Asian are Chinese or Japanese Not all black are from Africa etc... Many things you don't learn right away... I didn't even know the existence of Korea until I was 20 years old... and that was my ignorance but I did learn though late but better late than never Learning is a life long event no matter in what aspects... Judging a kid for that doesn't sit right...
I could feel her isolation and deep desire to dance again. I really hope that she finds her identity as it fits into her new life. What a beautiful family :)
the teacher was really wrong about vica. I think that even with the language barrier, people would be able to get along very well with vica because of her adorable personality. we start to pick up words just being around each other and our language skills improve that way.
She wasnt wrong. Its business, it isnt about how good vica is at dancing. The academy have a certain type of dancing that they follow. And language is important. Either koreans have phopia of non koreans or not. Customers are always right. So the academy needs someone who will satisfy the customers and meet their expectation. Besides she didnt accept criticism
I agree with what you wrote. She lives in South Korea, not in English Country or Russia. If a person wants to stay a certain country, they must learn their language and culture for communicating and understanding people.
That's true she can learn the basic "left, right, here, there" in Korean and I think Korean use English for counting then she can do the moves and other would follow... Simple. Jeez
I'll be honest as someone who doesn't dance.. if I were to take her class, I wouldn't be able to catch up so I get why she said that. The appealing thing about Zumba is that feeling of being a part of the class and actually dancing successfully in a way that's precise and you're working out while having fun. The way she danced was gorgeous but not exactly a zumba kind of thing. On top of that she can't speak korean so if she had students who are not at her skill level of dancing (the majority) and are falling behind they won't be able to approach her for detailed explanations of her movements. Vica inwardly knows that which was why she said in her interview that she doesn't like being told she's wrong bc she had alr attained a really good position before and the class is just basic but these things are completely different from each other. In business, you have to understand your target audience well to cater to their needs. I can understand how frustrating it is for Vica to feel helpless in her situation. She isn't absorbing the language as well as she had hoped and other people are at least on a conversational level. She was amazing at what she did before but she can't do that with a child to take care of. People are unfamiliar and she can't join in to conversations so it gets hard and emotionally taxing. Personally I hope that she takes a dance instructor job or something instead of zumba. Like intermediate dancing for advanced students instead so that they can follow along without making much conversation.
blue jay I mean I think it’s fine he’s calling her that much because she doesn’t speak Korean, but when she learns Korean he might loosen up a bit because now she will be able to get around more easier.
@Gess Niz So ppl in Kazakhstan mostly speak english? or at least understand it? I mean if I go visit Astana (for example) I won't have much problems communicating like asking for directions and stuff? Just curious
J Tz how could you say such rude thing? Bye bye, this amazing family doesn’t need anyone ignorant, racist, crusty ass people like you to bring them down
yup I agree... I hope she finds a Korean instructor who can really teach her how to speak Korean on her level... and I think she needs a foreigner who speaks Korean so they will know her struggle
She definitely moved to Korea for love. Wow but her husband seems nice and lovely too. However she should put more effort in learning Korean and I'm sure she would find many more chances.
s lee actually since this aired she’s been there for 6. Since she was taking classes and practicing a lot I’m pretty sure she can now. And if you payed attention she could say milk, breath in & out, & several other things. So to say she doesn’t speak a work is highly incorrect.
I want a husband like this! He's kind, romantic, considerate of his wife and loving to their son. His personality and characteristics is my ideal for a husband. Hang in there Vica, you'll learn more Korean and hopefully start teaching dance like you wish to.
I know. the whole I was smiling watching this episode. He is a real keeper and rare. What a lucky lady. But again the Korean husband was also lucky. Vica is sweet and she loves him.
she puts no effort in trying to speak to koreans thats why she never learns. that outing with the wives, she could've spoken korean then, hell even that little kid who knew minimal english was good practice. She's too insecure i think
Ya, like all she ever does is complain... Pretty amazing how her husband puts up with her. Like you're SO tired you can't even say a three-syllable word? Maybe it's the cameras but she definitely needs to build some confidence.
I find this show so refreshing. An intimate look at the lives of foreigners living abroad. An empathetic look at their lives and a chance to see their point of view. Its much needed in the current anti-globalization climate we're currently living. Every thing feels so xenophobia and full of hate lately. This show reminds me that there are still places to appreciate our differences, and celebrate our commonalities.
anti-globalization isn't synonymous with xenophobia...know the meaning of the words. Immigration is at its highest peak now then ever before so i don't see where you're getting the idea that this show is refreshing for having foreigners living abroad when so many countries do this and aren't in decline.
Vica if you read this, i just want to let you know that you are very talented. You dance perfectly. I came to europe from Asia 14 years ago and i faced the same problem like you (well maybe it's easier becoz we are using roman letters here). Hang in there!!! You have a sweet husband and a lovely son. You can vent to me if you want lol
She is very ugly, strange eyebrows, no jawline, no cheekbones, and has A HUUUUUUGEEEEE long pointed nose. On top of that the brown hair is very ugly. Why would a good looking Asian man be with such an ugly looking white woman? The child is also ugly looking because of the white features. They definitely should not have any more children because that would be diluting good Asian genes and mixing with ugly white genes. If Asians marry another other ethnicities such as African, Native American, Mexican, etc it is 100%okay because the children will be very good looking, but when anyone has kids with whites the kids end up looking ugly with neanderthal caveman looks and genes. No one should make ugly kids with whites.
I feel for Vica tough. I am also a dancer , and understand the frustration when something as Zumba, doesn't aloud us to be free and just make us have to follow a lot of rules. and to be honest about it, Zumba is not zumba dancing. Zumba is different dance styles together. I think that teacher was jealous of Vicas talent for dancing and might got frightened that she might do it good in teaching those classes. And you know what they say about dance. It is an universal language.
Exactly! Zumba has a mix of different dance styles! My zumba instructors would have their classes feature samba, cumbia, salsa, fitness, tango, reggaetón, and pop! Just a variety of things and popular songs too! The main focus of zumba is latin music, fitness, and passion!
She's a perfectionist. When she doesn't get it right, she is very hard on herself. That's why she's having issues with the language. However, I think she should put in more effort. Her attitude towards learning isn't the best.
I loved this episode! They seem like such a perfect couple, not because of the gifts or whatever, but because they are there for each other and you can truly see that they love each other. I hope there is a follow up on this couple!
I wish Vica all the best! I think once she returns to dancing, she'll want to apply herself to learning Korean. She can do it as long as she tries! Good luck!!
In the future if there's ever a show where Vica can perform again and show her amazing talent I really hope they invite her. I think it would make her really happy
I do believe Victoria has such strong and energizing personality that koreans are not ready for her ^^' Actually she must have gotten that job, she was really good and though she needed some updates, she might have done well at classes no matter the language. I wish her and her lovely family the best ☆
Of course she appreciates his love for her. These shows spend hours of filming and only choose a few scenes from hundreds to make an hour long program so we don't know the behind the scene.
she is typical Russian, strong, strict, clean. I come from Indonesia and my fiancee is Russian too...she is willing to gave up her business in Moscow to live in Jakarta with me. but too bad after 11 years we decided to have our own way..but up to know we still keep our communication...
They are so adorable !!!!! And you can see how she missed her dancing 💃🏻 life but also how suppporting and sweet her husband was ... and all the efforts that they do to understand and learn more about their culture
i think she's right when she said every teacher has their own styles. they just have to combine everything so the lesson can be more interesting. i think she's a good dancer. love Vica and her husband
vica's struggles makes me wanna cry too T.T so this is how my mom felt around us T.T T.T T.T T.T T.T I wanted to give her a hug right there whenever she mentioned anything about her struggles 😭😭😭😭😭😢😢😢😢
No. Vica got the wrong message from life! you do not have to sacrifice anything to marry a man. Job, family, friends, anything.. a man should be a plus in to your life and not a lot of minus girls!
Marlene Crisopulli no sunshine sorry but that man is like perfect sorry but I almost forgot that someone just like Vica’s husband still exists in this world I would sacrifice the same thing just like Vica if my husband is gonna be this perfect bye 👋
Both man and woman needs to sacrifice a lot to make a marriage work. No sacrifice in marriage? Self sacrifice is one thing that makes marriage beautiful and precious. You find a spouse that fits your message and I will find one that fits mine.
I really like how her husband treated her the best he can do, and not to forget about her carrer to continue it although she has been a mother.....pretty good family....i loved it...
Nice start to weekend watch my favorite show. If there's two things I find most charming and attractive is when a man can show his wife/girlfriend genuine affection no matter where he's at also can cook. For some men being sweet is like pulling teeth or they're just not the type, but Vica is truly blessed she should appreciate it. Husband has a awesome built, looks better in casual clothes. They're a lovely couple little boy is just darling he'll be handsome when he grows up.
She's been there since 2013 and doesn't really know even a bit of Korean. Plus when talking she gets discouraged. I hope she cheers up and finds her desire to learn and understand.
I've applauded warmly when she finished the dance, her dance full of happiness and energy ! her personality as well is so wonderful she'll do great in future , just keep rehearsing
I like her and could relate to how hard it is learning Korean. Its Dec 2019 and wonder how they are doing now...Is she teaching dance now ? Once her son is on school all day she may like to ... What a great husband....I like the way she thinks where it would be good to teach different dancing styles, not just zumba.
All of them are so adorable! The kid at the park got me dead. What a perfect husband, he's really trying to be his best-- Victoria as well, you must be uncomfortable not speaking the language to others and talking to them. Your pronunciation will not be perfect at first, but keep on trying, the both of you! Dancing, baby number two, job, language; we believe in you guys!
Vica is such a successful dancer she doesn’t need to be criticised for her well being and good dance she has done to show her special skills. I agree different teacher will teach differently If unable to accept her stop criticism on her good job . She can dance so elegantly ❤
Those multilingual kids speak later than the one nation kids. That's just because they have to absorb three languages at the same time. But when they are able to speak, they speak all three or more languages fluently.
In some ways I’m really sad for her because you can tell she really misses dance and she’s struggling with Korean and I know it can be so hard to live in a place when you cant communicate and learning a language is so frustrating. But on the other hand she has such a nice family and her husband is trying so hard to give her a good life and I feel sad for him because I think he can tell his wife is struggling
I hope she can open her own dance studio where she can teach different kinds of dances. She was given a poor evaluation by the Zumba studio. Big mistake
This is one of my fav episodes, her personality is beautiful and her husband is amazing.. They have a lovely kid and a family. God bless them with love ❤
Vica hit the jackpot when she married him. He wholeheartedly loves her 😭 He is going to devote the rest of his life for her and their family. His love is so grand that he always thrives to be the best salesman at his job to make sure Vica doesn’t have to worry about money or working just so she can prioritize Leo . Hopefully she goes back to dancing either as a dance instructor or set up her own dance studio. Fighting Vica!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I really love the way how this family taking care of each other. like how her husband doing lil things but with overloaded love, how Vica stay strong for the sake of her family, and how adorable and lovely their baby is. this is a really heart-warming(?) episode💕
aww beautiful family :).. And who wouldve thought the guy had a body like that tho lmfao 😏 hope vica will learn how to speak korean soon, cause that will make it easier for her to find something in korea
My cousins are half Iraqi and half Russian, their mother taught all 4 of them Russian, they also know Arabic and English. I guess Russian people want to preserve their culture and language
