I can’t believe that a manufacturer would route those wires like that.

The twitchy throttle can be improved by adjusting the throttle cable on the right side of the engine . Your owners manual shows where and how. The cable can be loose so just tighten to remove the slack. I think I adjusted mine 3 times before it remained adjusted. I don’t have an ECM and you probably won’t need one after adjusting the throttle cable. You can install a stand off bracket to move the brake line out of your line of sight so you can see your dash better

Use a black ziptie from the crossbar on the handlebar to the front brake line to keep it out of your view. Do not pull it all the way tight leave it loose to allow the breakline to travel.

I'm not done with the protection like bash plate barkbusters etc. I'm already excited about my LS, I got used with 24 miles,saved a ton of money, thanks for the vid.

I LOVE the colors of this machine.

The seat is wider because it’s lower. the foam is shaped tapered in towards the top. So when you chop some foam off the top the seat gets wider.

Bike looks nice . I like that color scheme better than the blood red .

I hope they offer the Rally in "S" and still in red like they do in Asia but for US. Most of us would be willing to trade off a bit of travel for lower CG and easier footing for more confidence.

great review on a bike not many people are talking about. looking into getting into riding and want a lower power dual sport like this or the tw200, pretty short at around 5'6 so this looks like it would be great on and off road

Nice review ! Love the powder coat frame and color scheme ! Looks sweet So I contemplated between the KLX300/CRF300L/XT250 for many months . Being the short legged guy I am , I reluctantly decided on the XT250 . It’s a great little bike but it just falls short in a couple categories ( like the 5speed transmission, and just a little underpowered for anything more than two tracking and it’s a little wobbly at speeds over 60 mph . But it’s a great little bike , just didn’t quite satisfy my needs . The CRF300LS checks all the boxes and appears to be just what I was looking for when I first ventured out to find a dual sport . Well as soon as I got wind of this bike coming out , I just sold the XT250 last month and now I’m waiting for the CRF300LS to arrive at my dealer . They are allocated for two and I reserved one ☝️ However, they have no clue when the shipment will be 🙄 Hopefully before this summer is over , maybe I’ll get a couple of months in before the snow flies again lol !

I got this bike" and well old school comes to mind" but with all the great things that new brings. I can flat foot this thing" and at 60 years old I need that. No ya can't jump school buses anymore but man I love this bike. Only thing I'd change is I wanted the red" Honda's are just red I think.

12:25 Some of the scariest moments riding dirt with my BMW F800 have been with ABS on. ABS isn’t made to make you stop sooner, it is there so you don’t lock them up and lay it down. ABS takes forever to stop on dirt in my experience. I’d be over that cliff with ABS on.

Interesting, no rear rack. I have the 150L. It's a little lacking in pep, but for the price point you can't beat it.

Wish they'd come out with a fat tire version of this bike. Would be a great alternative to the TW200 with the added power and updates. They'd sell a metric shit-ton of them if they ever did.

Great review, your enthusiasm come across well. I have Africa twin adv, I had the misfortune to try out the abs, on a bend, on the front wheel, road, without it would have been off, amazing.

I own a CRF 250 L of 2018 and I’m in no hurry to upgrade because I love my bike but also because I’m 1,66 mt x 50 kg (5.5 ft for 110 pounds) so I touch only with my toe tips, but if this very LS will be imported in Italy I will almost certainly buy one. I just written to Honda Italia to ask but they don’t know yet.

Had a 250L and now have a 23 CB500X. I might have to add this to my garage.

This model looks very much like a future bike. I have never had abs on a bike but it worked in semis I drove!

I think this is going to be my first tool sport/motorbike purchase

I never knew this bike existed but it looks like the prefect 4 stroke trail bike aside from the abs... I like to spin tires and lock the wheels if I want to. I’m an aggressive rider and the less between me and the bike the better. Full control is the way to go for me.

Definitely have room for this bike. Smaller bikes give you that explorer's mode. I have a BMW R1200GSA um yeah I can explore on her, but she's too big for the same trails your riding here.

I used to live in tradition now I’m about a 20-30 minute ride from there. Crazy, I never knew all the trails out that way, making me regret buying a cb500f over the x.

I love this bike! The is great, my favorite color is grey and silver so the color of this bike is right down my lane. Its a 300cc which is not too big and not too little. Its a nice adventurous type bike and thats what i love. After having kids i let my Suzuki Katana 600 sit way too long and now the carbs are F'd up. But im done with straightup street bikes, i want a dual sport bike. Love the vid and i too couldnt find any good vids of people ACTUALLY riding it. Whats the cruising speed and top speed? BTW, does this bike have rear pegs for another rider???

I believe the LS refers to the 2” lower seating position, or “low seat.”

That would suit me as in a short rider who just plods along on trails and a bit of single tracks ,I like the colour to it seams less steelable ,but still a 300 and very reliable I think I’ll sell my 250 and get one I like the 6 th gear for the road and it’s easy to pick it up as that’s one thing that tiers you out

Ive been thinking about selling my TW200 for one of these 300LS. If I'm able to get one I plan on doing a 14-43 and gettting a 13t to throw on it for trail rides.

At 6:05 when the Toyota passed you on the right... why are you in the left lane? As a driver and as a motorcyclist, that drives me nuts. Most states have laws that require people on divided highways to keep to the rightmost lane unless passing. Even if your state doesn't staying in the right lane is just good practice (because it prevents being passed on the right) and good manners.

Simply love that bike and will have a test ride in near future. There are only two things, I don't like so much, none of wich is a real dealbreaker: First is to be seen at 1:51 the cable running through your vision. Is that fixable? Second: The same bike in Asia has a great LED headlight mask which looks much more modern including LED blinkers. Maybe my Honda dealer can order these and replace afterwards. That cable/wire in the way; I saw a guy use a zip-lock and attached it to the bar on your handlebars

The CRF300 is a Chinese manufactured, Thai assembled mess. You should have bought the KLX3300 if you wanted a good bike. Comparing the CRF's to the KLX: The CRF's biggest problem is its suspension. They basically fitted it with the cheapest possible components while still maintaining functionality. Also: the closed throttle fuel-cut on the CRF300 (very jerky to ride), carbon steel exhaust that rusts (stainless steel on the KLX), thinner spoked Thai wheels (not quality Japan made wheels like on the KLX), no protection for the throttle body actuator (dirt can enter the system), no protection for the rear brake caliper, weaker brakes, non-cartridge forks, non-piggy-back shock, shock made of steel not aluminium, blinkers break much more easily, body panels held together with plastic clips, no grease on the headstock bearings (mine were done at 4000 miles, common problem), only one radiator not two, switch gear doesn't fit together properly, rear mudguard held on with self-tapping screws straight into the plastic airbox housing, air box lid held on with self-tapping screws straight into the airbox housing (cannot be tightened or they strip out), paper air-filter not foam (clogs much quicker off-road), rear plastics rattle off-road due to being poorly designed, tool kit is sparce compared with KLX. And somehow whilst lacking all of this, the CRF's still manage to be heavier than the KLX.

I just go my brand new CRF 300 LS 4 weeks ago in Germany; the tubes running in front of the screen are really quite annoying and dangerous... I cant even see how fast I am going...even the salesperson was laughing about it but did not dare to touch it...since then I am fighting with HONDA but they say it is normal...

I'm sold I'm buying one. Good job

What I am expecting from Honda, is to solve the 300L suspension issue. I like my bike very high..

I wish they made a rally version of this bike it looks awesome. I'm 5'10 with boots and 185lbs wondering if the regular 300L is gonna be too tall for me to flat foot, I'm guessing so but I have no way to sit on one in real life and try it because they are so uncommon on the west coast.

I'm going to wait until next spring, as the riding season is almost done here, plus I have a few things to take care of yet, but I've been kicking around either the KLX230s, or this, since I saw it. Any preferences either way?

I'm confused why the "lower versions" (300L, KLX230, KLR) are all slightly heavier than the normal height versions.

My 300L has the brake cable in front of the cluster like that. I didn't like it at first but they kinda "droop" with time I guess.. they no longer block the cluster. I don't even see them anymore..

where do you live where you can just take a random trail off the side of a road? Here in KS everything is private and it's really annoying and impossible finding trails. sold my xr650l for that reason
