I have 2 goals. First, pay off my last credit card by the end of February. Starting in March, pay an extra $1400.00 a month on our mortgage to have it paid off by Christmas 2026! Update: my credit card is paid off and I’m starting the extra principle payment on my house the end of this month! If only I would’ve started budgeting years ago!!! The only reason I started now is because my husband retired in November. So much wasted time but I’m happy with what I’ve accomplished in such a short time. 🙂
Yes! Yes! That amazing. What an incredible and rewarding goal. I was just wondering if you have a tracker or if you do saving challenges? How do you save and pay it, just transfer? Always wonder how others do it.
@@lymanjoy up until this past November, my husband was still working full time and receiving his monthly SS check. We were adding all but about $500 of the SS check towards our principal. We were on track to have our house paid off in October 2025. I printed off a payment tracker from our mortgage company and followed it each month. Due to some unexpected changes in his job, he decided to retire in November. At first I was worried but honestly, it’s been the BEST thing for us financially! It forced me to do a budget and really look where our money was going! My plan is to pay all the bills, keep out only so much per week for eating out, and do some sinking funds. After an auto deposit to our savings, the remainder will go towards our house payment. We are on track to pay our house off 19 years early! I REALLY wish I would’ve started budgeting earlier! I love knowing where our money is going! I’m really enjoying your videos! I’ve learned a lot! Thank you! 🙂
My goal this year is to simply my sinking funds and stick to necessities only. Love you’re set up. Also I want to start my RU-vid channel for holding myself accountable. Looking forward to a great journey 🎉
This is a fantastic breakdown! Your setup is my aspiration this year. And you're spot on with the grocery pickup>going in to shop; it's the only thing 2020 did for us that I can truly appreciate! Lol best of luck and best wishes to you and your family!
Thank you so much Laura for your transparnancy in sharing your budgeting journey. I am excited to get going on my own journey in 2024 so that I can share with others what I'm learning, too. I will be downloading your simple budget planner and you know I have to get the binder cause I am a stationary girl for sure. Glad to be along for the ride! Blessings❣
I enjoyed your video. Did you intend to include some Etsy sellers that have savings challenges books? Can I buy the same Savings Challenge book that you showed in this video?
@alexandraderry7086 I will do that, I buy this paper and print on it for the A5 size. A5 Blank Paper, Refills for Filofax Planner, Organizer, Binders, 6 Hole Punched, 100 Sheets/200 Pages, 100gsm, White, 5.8 x 8.2 Inch a.co/d/iCts5i2
It depends on what you have downloaded on your iPad. If you have an adobe, you can edit and use it there, but it's not made as a digital version, just a PDF version.
