As for crafty things one does just for personal reasons, while I post most of my art on Instagram, I crochet all the time and I never post it. I’ve been crocheting for literally half my life and it’s really soothing and comforting to me. There’s something so personal and precious about spending hours making something for someone with nothing but some yarn and a stick. I couldn’t bear to have my stitches or color choices criticized by strangers who have no idea why I made the creative choices I made. Critique my art, sure. That’s made to be sold and customer feedback is valuable. But crocheting is how I show my loved ones I care and how I decorate my house. That’s staying in my safe place. I’m glad you have a creative safe place away from the criticism too.

What's your favorite thing to make? I used to love knitting hats! Anyway, I'm so glad you have crocheting to bring you comfort and it's your safe space!
My favorite things to make are blankets, pillow covers, and bags using either corner-to-corner or moss stitch, but I also like to make round table toppers (kinda like colorful simplistic doilies) and right now I’m making a water bottle holder with a strap and a travel placemat with pockets for silverware and snacks for someone who loves camping.

yes, moving is bittersweet! you make memories in a place, both good and bad. leaving behind a place with those memories IS very bittersweet. The feeling will always be a part of leaving something behind.

Never presume to know what other people are going through, I am sorry that you have had hardships in the last couple of years as have so many others. As much as i watch your videos for a personal pick me up and it's always great seeing your cheery mood - I also know that nobody can be like that 24/7. Your feelings on the last video mattered and tbh if it was me I would have been crying like an absolute baby! I remember moving when I was younger and even tho I was so excited for our knew house and the last one was too small, I still bawled my eyes out and still miss it a bit til this day!

Stress comes when life's problems versus our ability to cope gets out of balance. That deflection point is different for everyone. Some have trouble with even minor stress while others can take the world on their shoulders without batting an eye. But yeah, our feelings are valid. Hope you're happier in your new place.
The new studio looks awesome Mira!! Hey you do you… and do whatever you need to do to make you happy. At the end of the day your private life is exactly that… YOUR PRIVATE LIFE (Sending a virtual emoji hug 🤗). We moved over a year and a half ago and I’m still not fully unpacked and completely into my Art Studio . Having chronic pain daily is the reason why. Little by little I’ll get there. At times I’d rather make art than fix the Art studio but, my reason for rambling on about this is organization I am finally starting to organize everything. I have such a hard time with it. Everything is always such organized chaos with me. There are piles of things everywhere but I can still find stuff. Take care…. I like the new Studio colors. It’s a room you can grow into.
Mira, I love your videos! Your sketchbook idea videos are probably my favorite, followed by your painting Starbucks cups. And I'll admit that I kept waiting for you to put up a shelf so you could display your cups, but I completely understand your decision to put them away for a while. I so admire you and your channel. I don't have time right now to do much creatively, but your videos are one of my happy places. I got a new sketchbook and some pencils and alcohol markers a while back. I scoured your idea videos for something you had done that I wanted to try, but I could never find it. However, I did use them (once, so far), and I had a good time. My hubby and I just moved our family to a different state and bought our first home! So AMEN to that moving exhaustion thing you mentioned. It definitely takes a lot out of you. There were great times but also tears, sadness, and frustrations. All the feels! Hope you get settled in soon!

I don't know what you've been going through. It is personal and you have done that with poise and class. I relate in a way. From November 2018- February 2021 my life was heartbreaking and very stressful. I moved from AL to NE in May. I'm excited to begin a new chapter. I'm currently unpacking/organizing my craft room. My wall color is Pretty in Peach. Your room is cheerful and lovely. Just like you! Have a blessed day
GREAT Video! We moved from a mobile home to a regular stick built house! We went a little wild with the colors in the house, Like Maroon for the living room and green and blue baths, a Yellow hallway! but I remember a lesson I learned when I rented a studio space and that was paint the walls white! Color matching was so hard with colored walls and I even had to switch out the florescent tubes as they shifted everything I printed green! SO The computer room is arctic white. My current working area is the old dinning area and it is painted a neutral, very light grey. I hope you have enough lights for correct color correction and printing proofs! I like the double window situation! Yeah Miranda! (I also got one of the rolling shelves as they were simply to inexpensive to pass bye!)
I love the vibe of where your new space is going - Personally liked seeing the closure and the new chapter! I dabble in a lot of things but I do really love documenting it for myself. I want to try woodworking again but that's going to be a lot of screaming and fear overcoming.
You can do it. Baby steps. I just started working with resin, my feared medium, and I love it so far. Take the leap and have fun. Pump that anxiety into the work. 😊❤️
