I was wondering if Ashley ever got the name of her plant correct yet. Those are both pothos not philodendron. Philodendron have heart shaped leaves and grow much slower and are not as hearty as pothos. Pothos can take some neglect and atill thrive.

The plant you got is a Pothos, not Philodentron but kinda similar. Water when droopy or when the pot feels weightless, and is pretty resilient. I hope you love it!

if you get sick of seeing the dog hair a black comforter would still look so good in your room!

For Rosie girl amazon had waterproof dog blankets just search for ivory or white. It looks like regular bedding or quilting but if doggo gets sick or has dirty paws it won't soak through.

Hi Alisha! I actually work in a plant shop and unfortunately, that’s not a philodendron. The one you actually bought is a Golden Pothos or another name is Devil’s Ivy. (Golden Pothos is generally what it’s called) Philodendrons and Pothos are two separate families. You guys might’ve gotten it mixed up with the Philodendron Hearts which look sort of similar. There’s Philodendron Heart Jade, Neon, & Brasil (Brasil grows the fastest) For Pothos or any type of plant with vines should always be bottom watered in order to avoid gnats and also to avoid the possibility of the fullness of the plant becoming bare. It’s not typically a good idea to repot a Pothos in a pot that is not a plastic nursery one because it doesn’t allow you to soak it from the bottom with drainage holes. You can put it in a small tray or bowl with 1-2 inches of water and allow it to soak by itself for 5-10 minutes or however long it needs to. Remember that the longer the vines are, the longer it will take for them to soak up the water. Pothos don’t require light, so they’re okay in the dark but if you’d like there to be more pattern/variegation in the leaves, you can put it by a window with indirect light. Don’t overwater; it should only be once a week or once every 3-4 days depending on how long it is. Pothos don’t require too much water but Philodendrons love water. Don’t mix the two up! Hope this helps and hopefully turns you into more of a plantee! I’ve been a fan for years so I thought I should help you with something I know a lot about. :) p.s. if you really want the plant in a pot, you can keep it in its original nursery plastic pot and just drop it in a decorative pot; that way you can still take it out whenever you need to soak it!
