HAHA you weren’t kidding when you said you did the same thing as me. it’s all apart of being a boat owner, it happens to the best of us. ya live and ya learn!
Becca...yours was dropping the boat and it took off. Lojo had his "beached"and it slowly moved out into the water. Yes, they are learning experiences to make you better boaters.
Helpful tip... get yourself a 50’ anchor rope with a spring loaded hook on both ends and another around 10’ from one of those ends. Clip the end to the bow islet that has the inline hook nearest to it, and the other to your anchor. Put the anchor in the back of your truck and launch the boat. Pull the boat back to you and move the anchor to the other hook and toss it on the bank. Park the truck and return for an awesome day of fishing. This method insures you don’t mess up either of your props or come in too fast to a rocky bank and damage your hull. Hope it helps.
I like the strategy! Simple and no waste of resources. The bottom line: LOJO needs some line for the boat. I have often used a "doggy corkscrew stake in the ground" for most any shore/shallow water without a standard cleat or object to tie.
You and AYO have inspired me to start taking fishing to the next level. I'm in NC and am getting a boat to fish local tourneys with my son and maybe more when I get my DD-214! Keep up the great work brother!
Always click the notification as soon as it pops up! Just recently hopped out of my comfort zone and started making my own fishing vids! Keep it up, love the vids man
Lawtrina Kerkula I’m on a fishing channel.... why tf... r u copying and pasting crap under my comments that has nothing to do with it? Do u think I’ve been under a rock? Get tf off my fishing comments with this... Think u know everything because u can copy and paste🤣 Don’t u tell me to save the children I’ve already done it some.... get off your LAZY KEYBOARD and go join the army and actually do something 👍
Oh no his wife caught a huge bass there was a killer video they were on kayaks she totally out fished him that day great video. Then she beat him in a race lol yeah was a great video.
Lojo, thanks for showing us even the bad days. It inspires me to keep fishing even when nothing is biting. You should do some fishing videos in the North! Stay hard!
I REALLY appreciate everything you're going through with the boat! I mean it as a compliment. I'm buying my first boat soon and I'm a nervous wreck! You've been so genuine and I swear I'm learning because of it. Thanks so much for the content.
Hey brotha Ik you dont want carpet in the biat bc it’s a pain to clean but if you don’t want the deck th be slippery I highly recommend getting seadek it’s a foam type floor and it’s super easy to clean you just have to spray it off
Well, you very correct that it can always get worse. At least you didn't get the truck stuck in the mud. Dig the new boat. Can't wait to see what the next adventure will be.
I've been watching your new boat videos. Being an old boater you need some line and anchor. Even in camping you can throw the anchor on the beach so the boat doesn't drift away. Love the boat.
Yo lojo my names Jacob and I know a great spot to go bass fishing it’s in Texas I’ll send you the location on instagram let me know when you go so I can get you in for free I’ve caught a 5.9 pound bass off of a fishing pier at the location, if you can bring your boat bc their are alligators in their and they love to be under piers.
Love your videos man, going to take my, not as nice as your, boat out tomorrow. Keep the videos coming. You're one of the only googans posting real fish videos
Shout out to Lojo for the cool videos! You guys keep us laughin and make fishing fun! CDec foam is great for not slipping on the front deck might be worth looking into!
LOJO, my 12 year old daughter and I love your videos! You're a funny guy! Not sure if that is what you are trying for but damn you are entertaining! I'm retired USAF and appreciate your service to our country. Would like to see more about your time in the Army but by far really dig the fishing videos. I bass fish a few times each week and have tried some of your techniques with success. Big fan of your channel brother!
Something I started doing a while back is I keep a 100 ft rope with a clip attached at each end, when unloading by myself i attach it to the the bed of the truck and to the front of the boat; pulling it to where i need it, and then when loading I can tie it to whatever I need, dock, tree etc. then I can pull it onto the trailer. Hope this helps!
no matter what happens skunk or no skunk, bad day or good day as long as ur having fun is all that matters... keep fishing and tight lines lojo... keep up the awesome content and i enjoy watching ur videos.
Awesome video . You need a good rope to tie to the trailer and hooked to the boat when dumping it in the water. It also helps if you need to pull the boat a little on to the trailer 👊👊👊
Yeah, I'm in SE Georgia where it's been a thousand degrees all summer and the fishing has been super slow. Did catch my PB (7.4) last month, though, so it hasn't been a total loss.
Been fishing on a kayak since I started watching your videos in the beginning Just our new boat 3 weeks ago feeling your pains lol! Always great videos from the lojo👊
Keep the videos coming lojo! Try a carabiner and 30ft rope to hook on the front of your boat for self launch and recover it will give you that extra lee way to get it on and off the trailer!
That is where one of those remote control trolling motors will work. A lot of smaller lakes like that you can use the big motor to load it. It would be great if it had a dock right there.
hey if u take a long rope "20 feet is what i use on mine" and put a snap on it u can hook it where your winch line hose and when u go to lunch your boat use a long home made style tent spike on the other end of the rope stick it in the bank. when u launch u now have a safety line to keep your boat from drifting. helps out a lot if theres not a dock near by or you quick launching due to little dock space vs high number of boats coming in or out
LOJO not sure if anyone else has suggested this but if you want some sure enough no slip grip for the boat deck you can use skateboard grip tape. You can put it in high traffic areas where you walk and spots you fish from so you and Badger don't have to worry about going overboard or him slipping and busting more of your rods!
When getting the boat back on the trailer, instead of getting back in the boat to use the outboard, you can just pull your winch strap and hook it to the boat and winch the boat up the rest of the way. The winch makes it easy to pull the weight of the boat
I’ve made a harness with a climbing carabiner on each end that’s the length of my boat, I clip one end to the bow eye and wrap the other end around the back of the trailer and clip to itself. Once you float the boat off you can slowly pull your trailer out and the boat comes with it. Once the trailer is out of the water you can unhook it from the rear of the trailer and hook it on a tent stake and stuff it in the bank. Park your truck and the boat stays put and your feet stay dry.
Done that while launching and retrieving boats. Bad thing when I done it they went further and usually had welding equipment in it, tools, welder, torches etc. We built boat docks, carports etc. And pushed them down the lake to their final spot
Hey lojo just a tip as a boat angler. When you are going to back your trailer in unplug the trailer lights because the lights can short out and ruin the wiring
You need a long bow rope that you tie inside the truck bed. Back in, let it float off, pull up a bit, grab the rope and pull the boat back to the bank. I’ve been doing that for 30+ years and haven’t had to swim after it yet. Just wait until you experience the joy of realizing you haven’t installed the drain plug! I’ve lost count of how often I’ve done that. A set of vertical guides helps a lot as well. Also, you were close enough with the trolling motor you could have just winched it the rest of the way.
You need to learn to be comfortable not discouraged. Bring things with you on the boat that are stress relievers like a radio and some snacks. Slow down and enjoy where you’re at. Great video sir .
To answer your questions, no I am not having a good summer fishing experience. I have caught very few and have been skunked a couple of times lately. But I don’t know what I am doing apparently. Love the videos. Keep them coming.
not gonna lie been having some trouble fishing these last few days. caught my pb and havent caught a bass since. thanks for keeping the spirits up and reminding us all its all about the learning experience. keep on fishing brother. and if your ever near houston tx hmu XD
You need a good bow line for launching your boat. Tie it the and to the either back of your truck or the trailer, then when you back the boat into the water the boat will float off and then when you start to pull forward you will pull the boat to the shore and then you can tie it off while you park the truck. I believe I showed it in one of my fishing videos but if not I will make a video for you to show you how to do it.
Tie a rope to the front of your boat where the winch snaps on. When you launch the boat alone you can tie the other end to your truck and just unsnap the winch before backing in and you can use the rope to pull the boat back to shore after you float it off the trailer and you can also use the rope to tie your boat off so it doesn't float away. Be sure to give yourself plenty of length on the rope.
You should do a giveaway where you choose someone from the lojo fam to come fish with you or you go to there area to fish with! That be sweet as hell!!
One tip I’ve learned from loading your boat on the trailer is when you put the trailer in the water leave the top of your fenders out of water. Don’t put all of the fender in the water. That has helped me big time.
Really liking the new Ol'Blue vidgeos!!!! Be pretty cool if I won a Mystery Tackle box, been wanting one for a good while now, stay safe and healthy 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Great video, our camping friends one time thought their kayaks were up on shore enough, next morning they were gone taking a 2 or so day trip to Canada maybe 100 Miles or so.they were lucky enough to get them back because the persons island they washed up on were from a town in our city. How weird is that, anyway great video nice truck also I have a 2016 f150 XLT with the 3.5 ecoboost the thing is a beast for towing plus really fast.
Take your time when launching and loading your boat there are some good ways and smart ways to do this practice practice practice goes a long way 😉 each 1 teach 1 have a great week ✌️😉
1. Leave boat totally hooked to front winch (don’t flip switch or loosen) 2. Back in until back of boat just starts to float 3. Flip switch on winch, loosen until boat quits sliding. 4. Unhook winch hook 5. Fire up outboard and back off trailer, pull boat onto shore 6. Catch giants
LMAO, you had the right idea, you just need a separate rope and a D-ring, push off the trailer then pull around trailer and beach. A keep guard might be good as well because you have to beach when solo.
Your learning LOJO. It happens. Crawl, walk, run as taught. Would get a bow rope, especially for lakes you can't run big motor. Already wet and could have pulled onto trailer with rope. Baby steps but enjoy the videos brother.
Need to get a tie down rope or an anchor to place onto the shore! Not trying to be a key board warrior, just trying to give you some ideas to help you along on you first boat journey.
