The adventure of the journey is a wonderful idea in the summer time. Best wishes with it and I hope you can see all the wonders of the network along the way. I am very much looking forward to seeing it. As for now Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
Awesome news Lorna and really enjoyed the video just for a laugh I put my the name Laura into the hat! 🤣 Still funny that I made that F-up on the Elizabeth Line opening day when I called Lorna, Laura 🤣
As I prepare to embark on a land locked but big new life plan, I heard the words "no compromises" in my soul. It's a concept I'm working on myself, and it's a really wonderful place to be in life when you are ready to declare no compromises. Congratulations, there is much to celebrate this holiday season! Thanks for taking us along with you!
I know nothing about boats, let alone narrow boats, but I would imagine the shorter length would make it easier to maneuver and require less energy/fuel to heat/cool and propel?
If you really want to make it YOU, then name it with Lorna In the name. Like Lorna Dune, or Laughing Lorna, or maybe Pink Lady? Even “P.L.L.” for “Pink Lady Lorna”. Dave is a great friend, but if you paint it pink…it should be a feminine name. Oh, heck, just name it Dave!😂. So looking forward to seeing your new boat!
We had a boat built by Aintree. The joy of seeing her grow from a base plate on the welding shop floor to the fully built bat (oh all the choices to be made on colours and fitout!) on the water was an amazing and fulfilling, exciting adventure. The lads at Aintree were so enjoyable to work with as well. Aaahhh memories 🥰 Sincerely hope you get the same joy and excitement out of your new build.
So, Lorna, I presume you have reliquished your London mooring, which was probably very expensive ... 🤔 Are you going to have it moored permanently once you have decided where you want to be based? Or move around a bit in that particular area ?? How much was the London mooring, if you would like to share 🤔 Just like a campervan build, (please go and watch a few ..) having it done professionally will cost you a fortune ... why don't you just get the insulation, lining and flooring done and then get a Carpenter to fit it out with YOUR colour-schemes, it will be much more personal to you then ... and I would have to say that those swatches that you showed on the video are absolutely **gross**. I am sure you can do much better than that, and it will be miles cheaper. (Just because you've got the money, does not mean you have to spend it ). It's never too late to change your mind and pull back from Aintree. I am sure they will do a wonderful job but you are certainly going to pay through the nose. However, I am very excited to see what you have done ... Judging by Dave's comment here, I think he is in love with himself, since he is voting for himself 🤣🤣🤣🤣. NAME THAT BOAT: What about "It's Mine" or "Water Glider" or "EL JAY" 🤔🤔🤔😄😄😄 HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎅🎄🎅🎄🎅🎄🎅🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 🎄🎄💕
Call the NB - ‘A -Tender ‘ (a little boat that runs back & forth to a bigger boat) as you mentioned you’ll be running back and forth from the boat moored possibly in Mk to your London flat 😁plus dinghy sounds wrong for a NB! 🤣 Enjoy the Festive season 🥂
Make sure you have a stainless water tank this time for your drinking water!I love you interesting vlogs, keep up the good work and have a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.
Two of my favourite RU-vidrs are building their new boats right now, the other one may be a 75 foot, many-million-dollar world explorer yacht (so also in steel incidentally) but this little gal is just as exciting. Congrats on the start of the build and yes, I'm sure she will be very much uniquely Lorna by the time she's finished.
There are some very nice marinas just north of London in the Lea valley area that have great train connections and are nice and semi rural . so you can get there reasonably fast in a somewhat stress free manner for a weekend.
Hi Laura Jane . Congratulations on the start of your new build I guess 25 feet should not take to long to build hopefully, looking forward to the launch and the journey along the canals to get her home good luck on that one ,tell me what engine are you having in the build,Happy Christmas and a fun new year,John 🎄🤶☃️❄️👀🌹🌹💅
So exciting Lorna.Sorry to hear you didn't get to go on your xmas jolly on canal up in Mancheste, but i'm sure you lot had a fab time.I had something similar with a narrowboat hire i was going to do a couple of years ago late in the year.. just the river had flooded instead.Frustrating when you're looking forward to something.Have a good xmas!
Congratulations on your soon to be new boat. May you enjoy it in good health and hope it brings you much happiness. As for a name, may I suggest the following: 'in the pink', ' a cut above', or 'day tripper' (homage to the Beatles)
"Lorna Doone" is the obvious choice for her name! And it is nicely ambiguous. People won't know if the name refers to the fictional heroine or the Nabisco shortbread cookie. Even Wikipedia has two different entries for "Lorna Doone". Love your channel (even if you think this idea is rubbish).
Awesome news about the boat! The perfect Christmas gift! Keeping the boat within 2 hours of work/home is a good idea. Have a Merry Christmas and best wishes for the New Year!!
So excited to hear your new boat is started. Will be with you for the whole journey as you'll be living my dream. A boat name suggestion for you is Noral (muddled Lorna) . Every best wish for a happy festive season and a joyous 2023. 😀
I once had an oversized canoe (it had an outrigger and a sail that could double as a tent) that I had named the Trekkeh NeviTs (my first and last name written backwards and slightly modified)
