I love Thirdgens too. A wander/wonder bar from TDS will change the handling like you wouldn't believe. As a bonus, they came in the IROCs and prevent the subframe from cracking where the steering box mounts so it's a direct bolt-on.
Nice looking car Brian. I just traded my 2000 dodge ram 4x4 for a 1992 rs camaro.. Its a 5 speed standard with a 305 4 barrell that replaced the throttle body injection. The motor and trans were rebuilt. I love the styling of these cars. They are now harder to find than the 2nd gen and 4th gen camaro.
I had a 92' RS, was a v6, but it was beautiful, red, black racing stripes, t-tops and a 5-speed manual. I was always getting looks when I drove her. Then one day the clutch burned out, and this was in 2001. Decided I should get something newer. So got the clutch fixed and sold her, and ended up in a brand new 2002 Cavalier Z24, to this day I kick myself in the butt for selling that, one day when I have the money I hope to track down another, though I want a 5.0. Love this video, takes me back.
Love it. Bought a brand new 92 25th anniversary when I was 24. Black with the red interior and the red heritage stripe package and the red wheels. So miss that car. I have a 01 Camaro SS now with 50k miles. Love the 3rd gen and would sure like another one
I'm working on a restoration project. 92RS with t-top. Got it with no engine, no harness, no transmission, no rear end. Wires cut like crazy. Bought it a 350 carb bumping it 400hp with an fti 700r4 built transmission, and an LS1 SS 3.42 rear end with the zexel posi lsd. Also bought it a brand new UMI/BMR suspension, replaced steering to an iroc z quick ratio, and a new steering linkage assembly. It's one hell of a project.
Enjoyed your thoughts, Just to throw my 2 cents in. I have a rust free 83 Z28 that has now grown into a full blown LS swap, hope to have it up and driving this spring (here in MI. that will be June) but I did a couple of things initially that really brought the car to life you touched on. I did a Corvette servo in the 700R4 worked great and cheap, I did a 97 TA 4th gen rear-end swap to get disc brakes, posi diff, and drop from
