I picked up the 5" 2311, largely based on your review and one other guntuber. It's my favorite handgun, period. I shoot it far more often than my 2011 CS, and I definitely want to get the 2311 Compact Pro. Great gun.

I've been refreshing my feed twice a day waiting for this video to drop. I've been leaning pretty heavily toward purchasing one to replace my 365XL as my carry gun and this brings me the rest of the way there. Looking forward to getting one of my own!

Bought a Staccato C2 a few weeks ago. Just FYI, it no longer comes with a plate and only two mags. For $2500, it's a bit ridiculous.

Just finished putting 1k through mine today, over 3 range trips. 250/250/500. Each outing it got smoother. First two range trips I had a couple failure to feeds. Today, zero feed issues (flat nose, round nose, HST) I am having the occasional slide lock issue. Seems to be mag related. I tried marking them as it happened to keep track. Fast shooting pistol. I love it. I have an MR920 with the radian afterburner, have about 5k through it. Shot with both stick and DPM recoil springs. I will say that the 2311 is a bit softer to shoot. I’m really curious to hear your comparison between the factory MR920p and OA.

Great video. The takedown and mag accessibility are very appealing. When it comes to higher end carry options would love to see you check out the Langdon P30 or PX4 series

This has been my EDC for a little over a month now and I got the magwell so it’s more like a g45 overall size. It’s been great so far!

Purchased a 2311 compact pro model a couple of months ago, I emailed customer service, gentleman name Ian responded and he's extremely helpful on what he could do, I sent him pictures of inside the slide right next to two Staccato slides and one Bul armory Tac lite slide, all had multiple thousands of rnds through them, inside the compact pro slide is awful, brand new $2300 pistol with only 150 rnds and looked like a rental gun. After 150 rnds, it was painful at range visit, I was shooting 115 grn Remington green box and every single shot it did not cycle, tried with all of 5 mags pistol came with, to top that off, when I got home and disassemble the gun, inside the slide was so worned out it looked like my 65 year old colt 1911 I inherited from my dad back in 80s, inside magwell was so dinged like I've shot 20 races back to back but only less then 10 mag exchanges(total of 150 rnd). Per Ian's request I sent it back, they had it for two and half weeks until I reached out to Ian and he said gun is ready to be shipped out, and unlike what I expected, they said inside the slide is normal wear(I have thousands of rounds through two of my Staccatos with absolutely no wear) and magwell was all dinged out and they didn't touch anything. Pistol still fires single shot and has to be racked every single time to cycle. I will order a new magwell from them, Cerakote the slide and try to trade or sell this disappointment of a "modern gun", hopefully recover at least half of what I paid for it

Im wondering if you bought the non-porred model, then putting 4 ports on the top of the barrel would make it even better.

Damn. Now, another contender. I've been looking hard at Platypus, Shadow 2, and Sig 226x5 Legion now this pops up...

I know it’s apples to oranges, but if you had to compare this to the CR920p for carry, how do they stack up? You can skip trigger as I know there’s no comparison, but given that cr920p is under $900, does the OA compact shoot noticeably flatter/softer? And my concerns about reliability with the cr920p remain. This one seems stone cold reliable.

Such a nice pistol and takes my P320 mags... but I just can't justify the price tag. I don't competition shoot, and I would never carry a $2,500 pistol for CCW that would be confiscated and potentially never returned in the unfortunate incident that I had to use it.

I’d love to see a head to head review of this against the Bul Armory EDC Pro when it becomes available shortly. Spec-wise, they’re are a good match and likely priced the same.

I got one and it didn’t work right out of the box. Had to send it back. It’s up and running now but I do think there are some qa issues they need to work out. The trigger is insane.

Ok, I am a fellow LEO, what is your current CCW cause last I know it was a Shadow systems MR920 foundation. I say this cause I know I have to register my carry pistol and quality with it for my LEOSA.

Ported guns mild down the ammo what you use. Less damage. I personally think that is no issue. I have threaded barrel on my Glock 17 and use subsonic ammos. It is accurate and reliable as hell. Damage is still there. Enough to kill and stop person in pistol ranges and more with one shot. Same goes with short barreled ported guns. Literally they will make you barrel shorter so you have the pros and cons with that. In military you want most damage and penetration for pistols. Cheap. Hunting you pick the best caliber handgun for your game. Spraying for targets is for noobs who literally are bad shooters. In military handgun is backup gun used is small spaces so spraying is ok. In real life situation no one can stand up from clear headshot from silenced Glock. Hard to push up when shot on torso from my old Colt Anaconda. Ultimate speed in magdump in needed in competitive shooting. Ported and watered down ammos are for that.

So, i asked you on the other review. Still prefer full size?!?

I know aesthetics are subjective but ive always thought the full size OA 2311 is a very ugly looking gun with weird lines, cuts, and angles. Especially for the price tag it comes in at. Especially compared to what I'd consider its competitor in the space, the Stealth Arms Platypus i think is a sexy piece and customizable. That being said, this new compact model looks very nice. I wish Stealth made a g19 size Platypus but their lead times have already exploded so i don't see it happening anytime soon.

If I liked the P320 platform, this would be a contender. I’ve been invested in Glocks for years, recently got into Shadow Systems this year, and ordered a custom Platypus about 2 months ago. I prioritize system over variety, but this looks like a sweet gun nonetheless!

Which model would you choose for duty carry?

Why would someone get butt hurt about a ported gun shooting flatter then a Staccato C2 (which is not ported or comp'd).

The Lord's EDC? Blasphamy! If only someone would combine the 2011 trigger and frame with the Bergman action of the Archon Type B and the size/ergonomics of the Sig P365 Fuse. That would be the ultimate pistol.

You should review the Kimber KDS9C. It’s been super reliable & has a decent price point. I do wanna check out this gun at some point. Nice review!

I don’t understand the need to mix 3 platforms, Sig, 2011, and CZ, it just complicates things when something goes wrong and you have to get it repaired outside of warranty. One thing about 1911/2011’s, there is no shortage of people who work on them.

Not as flat shooting as a staccato or even a CZ 75, nice looking though.

I have shot several of the early models and can’t justify it. I don’t think it’s worth 2k$+. Specially not having a bull barrel. I’d rather have a staccato C2, CS, P, C….
