I am so excited to share this Foundation 411 on the brand new Chanel foundation! I am even more excited to hear what you guys think about it too. It's become one of my favorite Chanel foundations. It reminds me of the old Perfection Lumiere that was so popular before they replaced it with the Teint Ultre Tenue. Having tried the old formula and hated it, this reformulation left me speechless. They knocked it out the park with this one. It's the most natural and the most comfortable full coverage foundation I've ever seen in my whole life. I have really oily skin but this did not budge, did not transfer and did not vanish, even after 15 hours of wear. I'd go as far as saying it's magic if I'd believe in such things. :P

I purchase this last week in 30 BEIGE. It is ideal for my skin type for the winter months. In the summer, I probably will gravitate back to the Chanel Lumiere Velvet and YSL All Hours: It is light in weight and works well on my mature skin. I tried it with the Clarisonic but feel it works much better with a brush. The best part is it covers but looks so natural, similar to the Dior Backstage.

I need to try the Dior backstage! I keep hearing about it! I think it’s exclusive to Sephora so I haven’t had a chance to check it out :) I’m going to have to try it! Xx

When I was Christmas shopping online early December, I saw this on the site and immediately bought it. I was soooooooooooooo happpy they changed the formula because I hated the previous version!!! It’s my go to also!!! Reminds me of perfection Lumiere (the original!) miss that one!!!

Just placed my order for this, thanks to you! I got rid of my (old) perfection Lumiere velvet because I was concerned about the BHT ingredient i recently discovered it had! This ultra le teint has Safe ingredients and everything I’ve been looking for to replace the vitaLumiere velvet ! I used your coupon code again, thanks for helping a girl out

i finally got my first chanel foundation ever , , i used to use estee lauder doublewear maximum cover foundation, i used it all and excuse to buy a chanel one. sooo right away i used it today. and...OMG I LOVE IT! PERFECT for oily/mix skin! it does h ave good coverage but not heavy at all and color tone is just exactly my skin color.... which i love it even more... . and last all day. i am in love!!! i also got the stylo yeux eyeliner.. i love it as well.

I may have to give this a go. I tried the previous formula and ended up mixing other foundations into it to try and make it work. I threw it out. Unfortunately it was my first experience with Chanel foundation. I am glad to hear it wasn’t the typical Chanel foundation and has been improved. My skin is getting dryer, but I live in Atlanta and really appreciate a foundation that can hold up in our climate.

I completely understand... this would be a much nicer option for you! I need something that can stand the humidity of Miami and last but doesn’t look dry and Camry on my skin. I would definitely suggest trying a sample if you can :) xx

Can’t wait to try this one… im glad it’s user friendly, I really dislike the other one. My issue with the other one was that it would dry out so quick and couldn’t blend fast enough 😆

This is perfect for you! I always kind of laugh when I see brands touting 24 hour wear because I have no clue why that would ever be necessary but if you work long hours, the longer it lasts the better! I like a longwear formula because usually it lasts in the heat and humidity too :) xx

I actually quite like the old formula, however, when I sweat... OH GURL, the foundation starts running off my face! I got mine during the winter here in Australia and I went on a date with my bf, he loved how it looks on me, however, we had spicy Chinese noodle on the day, and holy moly the foundation just ran off my face from sweating 😅 ever since then I’ve only been using the compact instead I’m gonna try my best to finish all my foundations and give this one a shot

It looks so great on you. And I see you used a little on one side and the coverage is amazing. I’m more toward dry side so I do t think that would be an option. Also would you pls demo as how to use the Chanel foundation, the one that’s very expensive, as how to wear it long. It has skincare and I love the coverage but I have hard time to make it stay long. Dear Erin, this is my favourite foundation and has just run out of it. Only the black letter previous one is available in Europe and due to pandemic situation I am not able to travel to the us. Any of the online shops ships this product to Hungary. Do you have any idea how can I buy?

Hi, I purchased this foundation in BD31 . Matched at a Chanel counter. Unfortunately it oxidized too pink on my skin. Indoors it looks like it matches my skin but in natural light it’s obvious it’s too pink. I am a 190 in fenty foundation. And fairly light 03 in bare minerals original foundation. What color would u suggest I try? I am light with a bit of yellow. No pink undertone.

Do you think this is the best channel foundation for dry or mature skin? I have fine lines around my eyes and the beautiful marionette lines lol I’d love to try a channel foundation and I always thought it would make my skin look beautiful! Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Cheers! So this is a matte formula, for mature skin I would recommend the Sublimage but if you’re looking for coverage and longwear this would work for you. You just need to be sure to moisturize and use a hydrating primer :) xx

Hi Jessica! I really love both... the velvet is thinner more lightweight texture, the le teint is a creamy foundation... both give nice coverage and have a matte finish. I would say the main difference would be the length of wear. The le teint is going to last longer... but both are really pretty! Xx

Thank you! It will oxidize right away once it dries... but not that much. Every foundation will oxidize at least a touch once it's exposed to oxygen and applied to the skin but it should't alter the shade enough to be noticeable. The Perfection Lumiere Velvet on the other hand is an example of a Chanel foundation that oxidizes so much I almost always suggest going a shade down because it dries so much darker. I haven't found that to be the case here :) I hope that helps! xx

I don't like the old one because it showed my texture matte foundations are a no go for me. I'm waiting for the perfection luminiere to come back its so pretty on my skin also glow foundation.

Hi Erin, I have a question on the new foundation I figured out what the BR stands for but what does the BD mean trying to figure out which shade to get I used the 31 Rose I think in the old version

Hi Lisa! You would be a 32 beige rose most likely based on your old number. The BD stands for Beige dore which is a warm/golden or olive undertone. The rose is typically a cool undertone. I hope this helps! Xx

Hey how does finding the right shade work because I’m a medium skin tone with yellow or peach undertones but I don’t know what the beige doré or beige means

Hi Emily! Beige is going to be considered neutral, beige dore is more warm golden olive. If you are yellow, I would stick with beige, maybe a 30/40/50 depending on what you mean by medium... I wear a 30 beige and it's perfect when I'm tanner... 40 and 50 are more true medium tones :) I hope that helps! xx

Hi Erin - I recently found your channel and have been binge watching you all week. Thrilled to have found you! Question about shades in this foundation. I notice there is a BD21. I assume this is a more golden shade, but is the tone darker than the B20 or about the same? Also, I see that there is a beige 21 in the Vitalumiere Aqua. Is that also golden or is it considered neutral? I’ve always gotten B20 in that foundation, but a B21 would be perfect, assuming it is neutral. Thank you in advance. Love, love your content!

Hi Gina! Thank you so much for your kindness! So you’re correct, the BD is beige dore a more warm or golden/olive tone.. the same intensity, just different tone. The Vitalumiere Aqua 21 is actually more of a yellow undertone.. it’s still beige, and the 21 is supposed to signify warmth versus pink (or cool) but it actually looks more yellow. The BD is the only gold/warm tone from Chanel. I hope that helps! Xx

I am combination... slightly less now, I lean towards normal. I live in a hot and humid climate as well, just something to keep in mind. I hope that helps! xx
