Just a thought I had since you're playing Boltwing Maurauder, you could put Ogre Battledriver in if you end up going wide with the populate. Then all your beautiful new tokens have +2/0 and haste! Using it in my budget Warrior tribal and it's been a blast!

Mitch I love you for making this deck. Seance was a central part of my first 5 color 60 card deck made on magic 2015( before I knew of commander). If you wanna give it a try, use Jalira, master polymorphist. Great way to instant speed utilize those tokens that die at the endstep, especially on other people's turns 😁

This reminds me alot of my kydel, kodama, keruga deck. I had a lot of cloning and blinking effects so that I can draw alot of cards, gaining alot of mana with kydele, and cheesing out all of those cards with kodama all for like 3 mana constantly

I definitely appreciate seeing that you can build decks that are pretty solid for so cheap! I’m gonna try and play this against some of my friends, I like the idea of a deck where My goal/win condition isn’t immediately obvious just based on the commander.

Guided Passage is my favorite card of all time and should absolutely be in this deck! It's a massively underrated and underplayed card that lets you tutor three whole cards for only 3 mana. Every Temur deck should have it and I love the looks that I get when I cast it when the first line is "Reveal your library"

Doesn't that card run the risk of slowing the game down a bit ? Are your fellow players cool with it ? Do they already know your deck and can pick cards more quickly that way ?

Just a heads up if you use the link in the description, when clicking add to cart when you try to buy the deck before doing so make sure to delete the 1 Séance line because there is two of them one with the Séance and one with Seanse and if you dont erase Séance it will not let you add to cart due to an error!

I was doing this with my Derevi Deck. Mostly just because Selesnya was where all the Populate was in and Blue is where all the clone effects are. I haven’t played it much since the Naya populate deck came out.

I have a deck like that too! Merfolk tribal, Salvager of Secrets and Shipwreck Dowser to recur the token clone spells, Parallel Lives and Anointed Procession to always be on plus with recursion. My golden pig: Lullmage Mentor.

I run Kodama The East Tree and Ludevic partner with Keruga macrosage as companion. Totally fun just keep casting permanents drawing off them, triggering kodama multiple times in different ways, draw more cards. Ludevic is just in for the color, sometimes I get a little draw off him but only rely on him for color access and chump blocking.

Seems like a fun deck. I am currently building a Jared Carthalion, True Heir deck focusing on the Fight mechanic which I think is going to be one of my favorite decks I've built in a while. Its going to try to use Feather to get back the fight cards. Going to be very interesting.

I decided to take the concept of this deck and put my own spin on it. Garth is the commander because once you use his ability if you cast cards like Shivan Dragon or Black Lotus they become tokens once they hit the battle field and also any or you spells that create token copies can target Garth and you can sac the old one and the new one will come in reset so you can cast things with his ability that you already cast with the original one. Just seems like it’ll be fun. Plus he’s also under $1.

Little rules thing to note if a token copy of ashen rider dies the dies trigger doesn't happen because dies only triggers if a card goes to the graveyard (with the exception in commander of the recent ish change to commanders with dies effects) and tokens can't go to the grave yard

If you're not running Specimen Collector from MH2, you should. All you need is to make a clone of it with a free sac outlet in play and you can make infinite Specimen Collectors, squirrels AND crabs. It would be a fun janky wincon to run alongside Stalking Vengeance.

Ghired's belligerence can be a nice addition to this deck as it can remove alot of your opponents creatures and populate for you.

The counterpart spells (there is also Crackling Counterpart from a while back) are just better versions of Clone for those decks that don't care about opponents' stuff. A few years ago I built a Biovisionary deck, which I had to upgrade with basically every set, because the copy spells got cheaper, more robust and more efficient.

Question about the interactions between Consuming Aberration and Croaking Counterpart. If you create a token copy of Consuming Aberration with Croaking Counterpart, is the part of the rules text that says that Consuming Aberration's power and toughness are equal to the number of cards in your opponents' graveyards nullified by the rules text on Croaking Counterpart declaring that the new Token is now a 1/1 Frog?

It would be a 1/1. Characteristic-Defining Abilities like the one Aberration has set P/T in layer 7a, while P/T Settings effects like Croaking Counterpart are applied after that in layer 7b.

Ah. I have an under construction Kamahl (Heart of Krosa) // Bruse Tarl (Boorish Herder) partner brew which has quite a bit of token production somewhat similar to this, and I currently have sleeved up a Prava of the Steel Legion // Halana (Kessig Ranger) partner brew which has some similarities, except it turns my creature tokens into temporary archers.

Garth One-Eye might be a better commander. The Black Lotus and Shivan Dragon copies that it makes are tokens that can be populated/copied (though populate is only for creature tokens). The copies of Garth can also keep making black lotuses as long as they have haste/wait a turn. Rhys the redeemed is $3 but also a nice addition.

if you didn't have Keruga in the deck you could use Double Major to create non-legendary tokens of your legendary creatures with Jegantha helping you cast it when the creature you want to copy (legendary or not) doesn't have U or G in its cost

I think Repudiate // Replicate is a card many people are sleeping on. Not only does it clone one of your creatures for value, it can also be a Stifle when you need it to. Honestly has become a staple to me in all decks where it fits.

I thought you can't use clacking counterpart because of your commanders ability which says none of your cards can have multiple color blips of the same color

Hi!!! Cool as hell deck! I'm rather new to all of this but you say the companion portion of Jegantha doesn't really matter since its the commander, why is that? Seems you feel it matters on Keruga though. Also the golden pig has a two white mana requirement so is it ok to put that in the deck? I'm assuming companion is not the same as Partner so you don't have two commanders but instead have to pay 3 more to get Keruga into your hand. Thanks a ton and love the content!

The companion requirements are used only when the card is used as a companion. Otherwise it is irrelevant. As Jegantha is not being used as a companion, its companion text requirement is ignored. As Keruga is the chosen companion, its companion requirement must be met.

@22:15, Why do get multiple triggers of the effect 'whenever an attacking creature dies, each opponent loses 1 life...'? You can only have one copy of the legendary token of Kardur (if you sac'd the card and kept the token). In that if you tried to populate the token, you would have to choose which token you kept. And thus there is only 1 Kardur in play after legend rule and only 1 trigger is seen for this passive. Or what am I missing? (how have you stripped the legendary status?)

Surprised to not see a Quartzwood Crasher 2 red, 2 green and 2 generic, 6/6 dino beast with trample and "Whenever one or more creatures you control with trample deal combat damage to a player, create an X/X green Dinosaur Beast creature token with trample, where X is the amount of damage those creatures dealt to that player." so you can imagine this stacks up pretty quickly

Spark double copies but also removes the legendary rule so you can have a second Jegantha or Keruga and start copying those :) might get a bit wild :)

:O I like this deck but I think it would be more fun with koruga as the commander so you don’t have to build around the restrishon of 3 or more mana value by using enchantment based ramp + untappers it will be amazing where your copying your big spells

Song of the Worldsong is fine. I took it out of my Ghired deck because I usually have to wait a turn to cast the first spell to trigger it and it costs 6 mana!! Too much for too little.

When you populate a army token from war of the Sparks and then Cast a card with amass, Will both tokens grow? Or ONLY One?

Since a copied card wont enter with any +1/+1 counters, it will enter as a 0/0 and die instantly. If you have a way to keep it alive, I don't know how the interaction would work sorry.

I’m interested as well. I would assume more of the staple mana rocks like soul ring and and cheaper mana ramp, rampant growth. Kind of like what he said in the beginning. Ramping turn two instead of turn three or higher.
