My new favorite One Light Flash Kit! The Westcott FJ400 + Rapid Box Octa-S 

LET ME EXPLAIN - So I had intentions on getting multiple angles on this shoot and a little intro skit. But non of it turned out how I expected it to. I filmed a little intro with the DJI Osmo Pocket of me walking up to the house with my wagon full of gear. But that footage was lost due to my DJI Osmo Pocket falling into the water when I was shooting Kennedy in her black swimsuit in the smaller pool. The reason my Osmo Pocket was even in the water in the first place is because my Panasonic G85 which I filmed the first part of this video with, the battery died. I thought I had grabbed my second charged battery. But apparently, I didn't as I left it at home. So with my main camera down, I my Osmo Pocket got upgraded from B cam status to A Cam. And due to me always trying to get the best angles I put my Osmo pocket on my tripod in the pool. But I guess the waves or ripples or whatever pushed the featherweight Osmo Pocket into the water. It was also attached to my iPhone XS. But since iPhones are water-resistant it survived and I used it to film the rest of the shoot and then GO LIVE on my "Photo Me LIVE" channel. I also lost my one half of my Sennheiser XSW-D Lav kit because it was also hooked up my Osmo Pocket for better audio. So now I have to replace one of the receivers ($179). I'm thinking about looking at the Rode system. But since I already have half of the Sennheiser and I didn't mind the sound of it. I might just buy another one. I tell you when it rains it pours. To make the story even crazier I had ordered a GoPro Hero 8 from B&H last Tuesday and I thought I would get it by the day of this shoot (Friday). Or at least that's what the shipping initially said. But then for some reason, it got pushed back to the next Monday. Had I gotten the GoPro I would have used that has my B-Cam instead of my Osmo Pocket. And I would probably still have both a working Osmo Pocket and a full lav mic kit today. So any new videos that I record from today on will be with the GoPro Hero 8 which I brought to replace the Osmo. But sucks that it happened this way. All in all, I managed to piece together a decent amount of footage thanks to me recording my viewfinder with the Ninja V. So I'm glad I decided to pull that out and put it to use. I hope you enjoyed this video and this story lol. Being a one-man show and trying to up your quality is quite a bit of work.

The freckles are icing on the cake

You have an abnormally good eye for colour. Most photographers can never seem to get that colour "balance" natural with a pop. They tend to way over saturate and way over contrast everything without really understanding how balance works. But seriously your photos are extremely well balanced and colour managed, I'm very very impressed.

I always love what you do with just 1 light, no super complicated setups and just fire pics. i am just getting into off camera strobes and you really show how it can be done not going to lie though you were scaring me a bit with being chest deep in the water but those were some fire shots

Man this was 🔥 but when you handed her that Z6 in the pool, I swear my heart dropped! Glad you were able to salvage the content to take us behind the scenes. Interested to see what the GoPro provides you in terms of the behind the scenes.

I have been using this light since January , great light I shoot Canon and Sony with it no issue between cameras. I have stopped using my AD600 because and with the new receivers for the transmitter I make the AD 200 and V-1 work with the FJ 400.

Love your photo shoot...it was simply amazing and refreshing , you capture the Model innocents of beauty and sweetness of young lady...that's is skill of Photographer ...the Westcott 400 is good..please don't Stop now...amen

For my Sony A7III, I prefer the colors from DxO Photolab 3 over Lightroom and Capture One.

At F1.8 I think speedlites by Canon or Nikon (SB500) can produce images like this. Bring a charger and several packs of AA batteries.
