Received mine yesterday. Great guitar for the price, this is my third SE and I also have a CU 22 ten top and a Wood library so I have something to compare against.😊

Got mine today from Sweetwater. Can't believe all the QC issues they let slide right on by. The input jack mounting plate, was sticking out away from the body like an 1/8" of an inch gap! The input jack socket nut is barely threaded on by only half the threads. The 2 inside screws of the neck mount plate were both lose. The saddles were soo jacked up it was ridiculous. And you could tell straight away, the guitar had NEVER even been tuned! The trem and preload on the springs was soo tight. It just kept pulling it sharp, no matter how many times I tuned it. It took the better part of an hour to dial everything in, and get the tuning stabilized. The guitar itself, is excellent in every way. The paint and overall tidyness of the build is great otherwise. Sure, there's tiny little imperfections here and there. But nothing I'd even consider returning it for. Tomorrow, I'll get inside it to adjust the output jack protrusion. And wire the switch for bridge and neck in position 2. I'm also gonna upgrade the tone capacitor and add a treble bleed curcuit. I went with Gunmetal Grey and a rosewood fretboard. It's the only color offered with a white pickgaurd. It's by far the sharpest available options on this model. I was worried the neck carve would be too thin for my gorilla hands? Even though it's by far the thinnest neck of any guitar I currently own. I'm flying around on it like a wizard! I usually hate thin necks. This guitar was destined to make it into my collection. I got a good deal on it with one of the new hardcases. The cases are expensive, but really nice. Can't wait to hear it through my MT15 into a Creamback loaded 212 cab. Should be frick'n amazing!
@@TheMixWithABD Sweetwater has gone through alot of cost cutting changes. Gotta remember, these are very cheap and inexpensive guitars. These are $300-$400 units being marked way up. Are they still worth it? Yep. But I'd NEVER pay full price for one. I'm just happy they're built decent and can be made to play great with some work. To expect perfection outta the box at this price point is unrealistic. I buy them fully expecting to have to do at least some parts upgrades, and a complete custom set up. As long as the fundamental parts are all functional. It's a great guitar for someone who can handle going over it top to bottom, to verify everything's kosher.
@@andrewbecker3700 these cost less than $300 to manufacture. That’s not the point though. They cost $800. Are worth that price. But Sweetwater advertises and takes pride in their quality checks and setups. They didn’t cut costs. Every guitar is still signed off by two people, and looked at by about 4-6. There’s no excuse for them not doing the job. The inspection is supposed to be on every guitar over $400. Im more surprised by PRS’s bad setup. They’re probably not used to having to fix those at Sweetwater.
I honestly wanna thank you for your comment. It terrified hell outta me! Last year I purchased an PRS SE from Sweetwater. Ended up pawning the damn thing. No matter what I did to it the thing wouldn’t stay in tune ( and YES, I did everything from string stretches to trying on different NUTS). It was my first and last PRS guitar. Of course, I was gonna get an NF3, but reading your comment…..Wow! You saved me $800.00.
@@jfturner67 you’re talking about the 57/08 narrow field pickups in the 2011-2015 PRS NF3. These are new, “NF3 Pickups” Take a look at the pickups in the USA. They’re different
The "new" NF3 magnetic pole pieces, metal slugs and deep dish design is different to the "old" NF3. The NF53 Tele is closer to these. Using 'Narrowfield' for a few different designs is confusing.
These are new pickups. The near fields have been around a while in a couple different variations. But these are new NF3 pickups for this guitar specifically.
