Yo! The 35 1.4 is always my go to lens but I've also been reaching for my 85 too! haha! Awesome pics, awesome model! But for real, the 35 is always the one I grab. But if there's enough space, the 85 is definitely my next go-to. If I had the 105 1.4, I'd grab that too.
Bro you gotta get a "AD-S85S" softbox to go with the AD300 pro. They're $80. Godox and Glow both make them. It mounts directly to the strobe so you dont need that big adapter. This will be almost a full 2 pounds lighter weight. Then you can use a lighter stand too! Love the AD300 because of this compact setup you can get.
@TMIDD oh nice! Have you tried the Angler Fastbox with ad300 adapter as well? I got one with the ad100 adapter. It packs up flat which I like. Just a bit pricey.
model gave you nothing to work with, but maybe she wanted more direction. seemed like everyone was figuring stuff out as they went (which can happen when you're just working with a new model bc you're focused on keeping everyone comfortable while creating) but I applaud you making it happen. it can also be tough being on the other side of the camera. great light and you can see your passion for the craft.
Another great video. Def my fav RU-vid photography person. Model def didn't seem happy to be there for some reason, but you showed great poise on how to deal with it. The 35mm Sigma F/1.4 I usually my go to also! But lately I've been going to my 85mm F/1.4. The compression on the shots are crazy creamy and sexy. Great video man.

Had I seen this video first, I would have just thought she was tired, especially by the way her arms came flopping down toward the end. She definitely needs to have a homegirl/hypeman with her. I'm surprised you shot that long. Once the energy was gone, I would have called it quits.

At 7:25 time mark on the video you can tell why the model was giving you just about nothing to work with up to this point, I am sure its going to get better

The model was very pretty. Those long legs were gorgeous, but... You know how I could tell her man came with her on the shoot? her energy was off. She barely talked or showed any emotion except for looking at her photos, almost like the shoot was a chore. I hope you didn't pay for this BUT it was an experience and you're in Alabama so..
Bruh…….you know I love your work……..but this shoot bored the heck out of me because the model was so not into the shoot. Several of the shots she made faces as if she was super annoyed. She looked like she had potential but the poor disposition over shadowed and potential she has. Peace TMIDD
