I agree, flashlights in general have really been evolving to becoming pocket suns. But it's ironic that out of all the flashlights i have (which is too many) including the Warrior 3 that i just received in the mail today, i still find myself using my streamlight macrostream as my EDC. 500 lumens is more than enough for daily use, and because i'm not using it much throughout the day, the battery life is perfect. So unless i'm going camping/hiking or any other outdoor/night adventure, the macrostream sees the most pocket time.

Hi Chris, hi guys! I fell in love with flashlights recently. I live in France: there are very few means of defense that are both legal and effective in the event of an attack in an urban area. Flashlights are therefore an excellent option for getting out of risky situations. I need an advice. Olight, with its aggressive marketing strategy, is a brand that has become essential: it cannot be ignored. But we can say what we want to say this point, Olight designs good products, in my opinion. I have three: my first and favorite flashlight that replaced my "Stiletto" pocket knife for going out in town, the Warrior 3. Perfect to hold, perfect to carry and draw, two switches, a Turbo mode as well as a a strobe quickly accessible in case of stress and a crenellated head which will never replace a blade but which has the advantage of being legal ! The other two, I bought them because there were good discounts on the prices offered: an Olight Baton 3 (ideal for staying at home. Like the Warrior 3, I classify it as an "S" rank) and the Olight Warrior X 3 (no useless option, it's an advantage. But no strobe and a little more technical to draw, I find. It's a very good flashlight but less useful for the use I have of it and for my level: rank "A"). I watch French-speaking RU-vid channels a lot ("Le Goût des Lampes", the most original, but the partnership with Olight spoils the negative opinions when there is something to say). "Chrispy Things" is my favorite English channel: it goes straight to the point, it exposes the pros and cons. That's cool and I encourage you to continue like that. I regret not having known of its existence earlier 😅 Coming to my question, I don't want to replace my Warrior 3. I find it excellent. But there are other brands besides Olight that seem to make great products too! Hence this need for "lighting" of connoisseurs and professionals working in security: the Nitecore P20iX and the Fenix TK16 V2.0 often come up in the comments under the videos. For those who own these self-defense oriented tactical flashlights, are you satisfied with them? Do you have preferences for other models? Not necessarily at Olight, Nitecore or Fenix: anywhere else 🙂 My criteria for my use of a tactical flashlight as a civilian: a head with which you can hit and hurt (the crenellated crowns help on this point), intuitive access to Turbo mode or Strobe mode in emergency situations, a reliable torch even after several drops on asphalt, and a light beam emphasizing width rather than maximum reach. Other criteria such as belt clips, "holsters" supplied with flashlights, battery charge indicators, use of a proprietary battery and the way to recharge it (magnetic, external port or obligation to take out the battery to connect the cable), etc., are secondary. They are still important, of course, but I try to target models resembling the Olight Warrior 3. The world of flashlights is so vast and interesting, I would really like to discover other horizons, other brands and other models just as well designed as the Warrior 3 (for example, the crown of the Thrunite BSS v4 is excellent for hitting but reduces the light beam: this is a crippling defect in my opinion). I copy and paste this request under the three videos thanks to which I have known this great channel: the Olight Warrior 3, the Fenix TK16 v2 and the Nitecore P20iX. Hoping to have some interesting leads from you 😉 Thanks everyone, and "restez éclairés" 💡😙

@buckcherry2564
@buckcherry2564 2 года назад
You could drill a hole in the pocket clip, but it is risky to use it alone. Just a tip: OLight clips are kind of annoying, but I found that if you get small (or an assorted bag) of ranger bands and loop one around the part of the clip that goes around the flashlight (under the clip itself), it works perfectly and you have an EDC ranger band.

Had the original M2R Warrior when they did the pre-order, loved that light. Recently lost it but it was awesome. The one thing I don't like about the Warrior pro and Warrior 3 is Olight's decision to go to TIR optics instead of the much better(imo) full aluminum reflector. I imagine the TIRs are much easier and cheaper to produce so most likely won't be buying another one. Either going with acebeam or the TK16 V2 for my next truck light.

Nice review. Thank you. Currently my high output lights are a Fenix TK15 UE, and a TK35. THE Warrior 3 is supposed to be a thrower, yet I never seen reviews showing beamshots at 100+ yards. My TK15 UE easily lights a a wooden fence at 130 yards, and I would be able to easily tell how many people were at the fence, what color jacket light/dark, maybe the color that someone was wearing. It also had a bright spill which is great for lighting your surroundings. I Just wonder what 100+ yard beamshots look like from the Warrior 3. Thanks.

@oldbones9205
@oldbones9205 2 года назад
I think Olight should offer both cool and neutral white; I dislike my M2R Warrior Pros neutral white beam so much, I purchased a Nitecore MH12s; IMHO, it has a much better beam; I can see further and clearer with the MH12s; considering they're both 1800 lumens, the Nitecore has won me over. The Olight feels like it's built stronger, but again, IMHO, the MH12s is an overall better light. I've also replaced my Warrior X Pro with Nitecores MH25s, this time my entire crew commented on how superior the Nitecore was. I was unhappy with the Warrior X Pro from the second I turned it on; at 300 lumens it was horribly yellow and the hot spot is an even darker yellowish/green, the opposite of what it should be; not much changes on high; of course it's much brighter, tho the dark hot spot remains. In a nutshell, the Warrior X Pro was the last Olight I'll ever purchase; they build a tough light, but they've been dropping the ball on performance, and there's just too much competition for them to be doing that now. Just my personal feelings; again, we all have different tastes and needs in a flashlight.

Been wanting a new weapon light, the Odin seems a little dated compared to their handheld options (especially seeker 3 pro). Thinking about grabbing one of these for that purpose thanks to the new remote switch setup. Haven't seen any reviews of that part, but looks like it works the same as the Odin's with an extra button (I like that, would prefer dedicated momentary and dedicated on buttons instead though).

@iosonoi.7132
@iosonoi.7132 2 года назад
I’d say no unless you want the to use the pressure switch for weapon mounting. The M2r pro can use it but it doesn’t latch so I wouldn’t advise using the M2r pro for that. I own both. M2r warrior pro “looks” brighter than the warrior 3 despite the lower rating and warmer tint. M2r tint is warmer which makes identifying something/someone easier in a tactical Situation. Also the warrior 3 turbo doesn’t work if it is below 75% charge. The warrior 3 does have a better tail switch button, though. Much easier to half press vs full press. I don’t like the side switch on the warrior 3. The m2r pro button is kinda hard to find in the dark but the warrior 3 is even harder to find and press. The led battery/battery indicator is cool but kinda useless since it turns off after a few seconds

Not trying to be a smart @$$, but what are some applications where one would need a super bright light, that lasts for 2.5 minutes and are there any advantages of a proprietary battery in an EDC light, over a light that uses 2 or 3 AA's or AAA's?
@Dat808boii
@Dat808boii 2 года назад
Well many Olight users have multiple olights and the magnetic chargers are all the same so they have chargers in each vehicle so you're never without a charger. This proprietary battery allows the light to function with the electronics in a way that gives a 55day run time. That is unheard of in another light. The 2.5min runtime on the turbo mode is only stepped down to keep the temperature in check. So you can turn it off then back on again and get another 2.5minutes. I find that even when I'm walking around in the dark I don't often have the flashlight on the whole time anyway. So the short runtime on turbo is just that way to keep the form factor compact and not over heat preventing frying the electronics
@Dat808boii
@Dat808boii 2 года назад
Also you can start a fire or light a cigar with this light. So it's multi purpose. A aa battery light isn't going to produce that kind of power in such a compact package

This is nice but I'd go Nitecore MH12S, specs are pretty much the same but it uses 18650, cr/rcr 123, and 21700, also compatible with nitecore custom 21700 that nearly doubles run time and also has dual switches and has 3 position clip and plastic tactical holster and has type c fast charging don't have to carry around that dumb charger, also has tactical mode and daily mode, just all around a better more versatile light

I'll have to look into this. My buddy refuses to use Olight (the proprietary charger mostly) and is on the verge of getting a warrior 3 after working with and shooting with mine. I'll let him know about the MH12S. Thanks.

Have any of you really had any trouble with Olight overall?? I wanna try these lights out too because they make some very attractive lights. I can't help but find negative reviews on a lot of channels in the comments that are a few years old to recent and it's the same things..they say the magnetic charging fails often and the switches do too, as well as they've often stated the LED flickers at times but not sure what causes it. Is it really a widespread issue, or are people exaggerating? I love their colors and I know that shouldn't be a reason to actually buy one, but the colors are helpful and if the light is actually worth it, then I get a great combination. Any help is appreciated and don't hate on other companies just to support Olight. Thanks

I have about 20 Olights and they are all amazing never have had a problem with any of them. I only have a couple things that I don't like that are personal. I HATE the proximity sensor on lights. I hate the turn dial on the Seeker3 and Marauder. And on the Seeker 2 pro the on and off has a slight delay so that's annoying but I've never had any actual issues like battery problems LED problems or charging problems. My lights have been through it all I am a hiker/camper and I go ice fishing and have held my lights in the freezing cold water. I know that your comment is from 10 months ago but here I am watching a video on a light I have owned for a year now bc the warrior 3 is my favorite

Yes and no. Every high lumen flashlight overheats fast on Turbo. This one however lasts a lot longer than most I’ve tested. Over 1 minute on Turbo until it starts to step down is above average.

It's never really been about the max lumens for choosing a "good light". Or is secondary. Proven in this comparison with the M2r. really most of us stay i the LOW /MED range. rarrely do we need HIGH or even trubo mode. Though, having said that, if you happen to have been i into lights 5 years or so. tthen not for 5....now sudenly being interested again in 2022....with all the new advancements and tECH....lumens NOW matters again....I'd look at the Seeker 3 Pro has a HIGH of 2300 lumens...turbo 4200...2 min? :) which we'll use for just 5 sec at a time....undr "extreme" circumstances....plus OLIGhT Canada is having a Black Friday sale now....tempting to get the Seeker 3 Pro. :)

Don't buy olight. My warrior 2 is garbage because you can't find their proprietary batteries and are forced to buy a next gen light. If you do buy olight, which I don't suggest, get an extra battery before you simply can't, and are forced to throw out a perfectly good light because you can't get a battery. That's just a dirty marketing strategy
