I have the same thing with my family too! I don’t smell my ferrets anymore either, but when my family drops by my apartment they complain about the smell too! And my ferrets are 100% free-roamed so apparently my entire house smells like ferret armpit according to my family 🤣 I always wonder how it’s possible because my ferrets only go to the bathroom in the bathroom (on puppy pads) like the good boys they are and I have a Roomba that vacuums and mops every day, but now I understand! My family is just a lesser developed species of human being when it comes to smell 🤣🤣🤣

Wow! This was so helpful. I have 2 ferrets the free roam the house while I'm home and they get into everything. Constantly trying to ferret proof the place. Also trying to litterbox train them but they're stubborn.
Hey Kenya! I've been owned by Ferts since 1985 and never looked back! Enjoy your tips and 'opinions' . . . and I might say that someone who perceives an opinion as 'controversial' . . . if that soul would only take the time to chase down the info shared (e.g. whether about kibble ingredients, 'ferret rooms', vaccines . . .), what would that person discover?!? I particularly enjoy seeing you found the box spring trick! My suggestion from the 'get-go': Invest in a high thread count fitted sheet (more difficult to dig through), or go right to a piece of canvas (impossible to claw through!). Critters will 'try' for a bit, but we know that they'll move on to something else! 😁. My Guilty Pleasure: sitting at the computer or on the sofa . . . listening to fervent scratching under the Bed, or the couch, or the 'what-ever'. . . only to observe that same Pink Nose come out an' look up at Me and say (in a British Voice, cira Downtown Abbey), 'Move on, nothin' to see here!' I couldn't help but giggle when you showed your 'duct tape' modification of a 'child-proof' gate . . . we have 4 gates . . . 1 to block off the Loft stairs and 3 others to use to corral the critters into different portions of the house as we move through the day. BTW - Gates can be a source of Exercise . . . each time you cross the Gate, Stop to do a 5 count Leg Lift! Fuzzies will run to you to see what's up and your Doc will say, "Good Job!". I might also say . . . the idea of whether or not to have a 'ferret-room' becomes moot if your Ferts are part of the Day . . . down on the floor, lookin' at their level and thinkin' Ferret Thoughts moving along . . . only to run into the Bedroom Gate . . . Oh Wait?!? I can step over that!!! Also . . . imagine all those bags when you come home from the grocery store . . . Fuzzy Play Time!!! Tell your friends to sit on the sofa an' watch while you 'put away' the shopping!?! I will giggle forever remembering the sight of Gwen dragging a package of Tampons towards her stash place!! I also enjoyed your bookshelf 'mods' and use of 'child proof' tools to keep fuzzies at bay! Of course we know that Ferts view any barrier as merely a challenge to overcome! This is our 'unspoken' agreement with our Critters . . . We provide a clean place to live, good fud, and lots of entertainment . . . Critters will share their warmth on a cold evening, then to go to the corner to poop until You say, 'Go Use the Box!' You can almost perceive the heavy sigh, an adolescent shrug of the shoulders as the Fert climbes out of the Box , saying 'What? I used the Box . . . Move On Would Ya?'
I use sticky puppypads and cut them diagonally so I end up with 2 triangles and use them in corners, maybe it can work for you and you wont need those textiles on the floor. If you don't have sticky pads you can always tape them.
The girl who has my funky ferrets, her Jinx has passed away, if your able to chat with her please let her know that it has brought tears to my eyes and breaks my heart to hear this and I'm in 😢 .
I had the same litter and my ferrets constantly found new places to poop. I found another dust free, unscented, clumping litter that works really well and they stopped
If I can't tie down things my little fart digs until it's moved. And he loves to tip over litter boxes so things fly. I use paper towels inside little boxes. Less mess. Love your room

I need help! I have a 1 year old female ferret and she is out of the cage for around 10-14 hours when I am off work and other times she's out 3-4 hours when I have to work and sometimes I leave her out in the room when I am at work (not always possible) now my problem is she plays with me for a bit or alone and then goes back to sleep. Is it normal? I cannot get her a friend yet cause I live with my parents and as you said in the video I can't smell her either but my parents keep complaining lol. Any suggestions? Thanks! Yep! That's pretty normal especially when you're nearing fall/winter as they tend to sleep a bit more (mine have already started eating more and slowing down for the summer). What you can also do is rotate out their toys and also I have a very "special" room for them in my apartment that I pretend that they're not allowed into (so naturally they want into it) and I'll let them break into there once every few days to really get them running and playing if they're a little low energy. The other thing you can check is also the heat of your house too. If you live in a place that's warm (and even right now I live in a really cold place normally and we've had a really hot summer) they could be more tired if it's too hot out. If that's the case keep an eye out for overheating.
Try to stay away from it . Salmon oil goes bad fast EVEN in fridge ! Get freeze dried salmon rolls from Amazon. Much better even dogs eat them . Win win

I’ve introduced a lot of ferret healthy treats to my ferrets but they turn their nose up at all of them, I was hoping to find something to make nail trimming times less stressful for them.
