The first min just put a huge smile on my face. Im 42,wife is 40 been together for 16 years. I wanted at LEAST one kid before 30. Well, turns out life have another option in that world. We arent able to conceive and cant have kids with her dna, genes etc. Which eats her up, and hurts just as bad. Seeing people with their kids always puts a smile in our faces. Enjoy the privilege of having your own. You and the Mrs are awesome!
One thing you never realize until you have kids, is how much time you had. I have a one that’s 7 and one that’s 3. I find that waking up before them to get the initial grind in is key. I used to try to stay up late and do that, and I paid for it later with cat naps lol. Ehh you’ll adjust and life will be better and more fulfilled now 🤘🏾
I've been watching you for about 6 years now and it's a welcome change to see the old style. I've been watching your videos during my baby shift with my 3 month old. I definitely agree with what you said at the end. Now that I'm in my 30's I find the most joy in doing all the things I always wanted to do as a child. I can't wait to share my hobbies with my daughter and try to make her life fun and interesting. You're killing it as a dad! I wish you and your family all the success in the world!
External advice clouding your instincts is something I’ve never thought of before, but man is it relatable. This video was so refreshing to see, good vibes all around 💯
Dude straight up. I been thinking I’m “uninspired” lately but I think I’m just clouding my instincts with too much “external advice” that comment just helped me a lot to understand the feelings I’m having. I’m right at the end of the video rn 14:24 & I just saw your comment. So thank you cause that was eye opening & I gotta get back to focusing on my passions through my instincts. That always took me the farthest.
This video was so sick. I was just going back and rewatching old vlogs of yours the other day because they were so fun and inspiring. Always loved your content over the years, but would especially love more of this. Peace and love to you and yours!
Dude I’ve been watching you for years. Your video happened to pop up on my timeline as I’m holding my daughter. Crazy to see how we’re both dads now. My daughter was born 3 weeks ago. Just completely mind blowing. Glad you’re still doing what you love and happy that your family is flourishing man!
Hearing you say 'quote of the night' gave me such a big happy feeling. I love this old school kind of vlog. Keep killing it John, you seem to have found a beautiful and loving family.
Congrats man. As a father of two beautiful daughters 10yo & 5yo. Welcome to the next chapter of your life! It’s a hard one but fruitful in many ways. If you apply half as much dedication to being a good father, as you do progressing your skateboarding, you’ll be 3x the dad that most of us are. Welcome to dad life!
Seems like you've found a life that gives you a sense of purpose. Happy to see how far you've come since when I first found your content when you were in Cincinnati
Your daily vlogs got me through high school. Man, what a blast from the past this video was. Always admired your work ethic and drive and this was just a reminder and motivator. Thanks John
Happy for you. I’ve been watching you and another guy who goes by Xaryu for years now. Longer than my 6 year old boys been on this earth. Skateboarding and World of Warcraft were a huge part of my life for a long time. I don’t do either anymore but I still enjoy the both vicariously through RU-vid. I’m just a few years older than both of you but still in the same generation. I’ve always thought you two would make great friends if you ever met. You’re both great young men who are just trying to make it in this ever changing world we live in. Both new fathers and there’s no doubt you’ll be a great dad. I’m proud to say I subscribe to both of you.
This is so trippy, I remember watching you so many years ago and I felt like watching you figure life out helped me figure life out too lol so cool and so happy for you dude, beautiful family
haven't watched you since 2021, but in general I've stopped skating and also stopped watching a lot of creators I used to watch as life went on for me. but I'm so glad to come back and see this. It's so sweet to see you now as a dad with your own little family, and I really like your new style of videos. I loved the structure of this video and appreciated your candidness about your life and how parenting is going. don't stop!
woah. loved the section at the end about instinct. we put so much pressure on ourselves and how to live our lives based on what others say. in the end just do what speaks to you. keep up the great work john
Dam John, this video took me back to 2016. Loved the vibes and the editing, it's so amazing to see you both killing it as parents. Proud of you dude! Keep killing it
just started watching skate youtube again after maybe 3+ years, mad the stuff thats changed, so happy to see youre still doing well bro. late congrats on the baby!
Happy to hear an update from ya, cant agree more that self help online is basically not useful at all and we should just follow what were actually passionate about. Congratulations on the family life😎
Honestly you are the best RU-vidr, you are just so real. I feel like I saw you in person I would just act we know each other for years, for how long I been watching you
Hey John, how do you manage to fit skating into your lifestyle of being a dad? Love seeing yo grow and where you’ve come from in your early years and how far you’ve come. You’re a legend one of my fav youtubers for sure
I havent watched u since the days your video endings consisted of you laying on your board and flopping over by the beach. It's good to see that your doing great since then!
Beautiful family John and great time management/coparenting!! Pro tip as new parents, make sure to take some time for one another too. I’m sure you guys got it on lock tho… keep KILLING it!!
This is insane to watch. I used to write down a lot of the quotes you would say at the ends of your videos. Those were always my favorite moments to look forward to in your videos because of the way you would break down your interpretation of them and try to translate them to us. But growing with the channel and hearing you say these things now is pretty unreal how accurate you are. Anyways keep killing it haha
I was just watching one of your old videos from 5 years ago titled something like “cruiser board for nyc” and really the purpose was just going to a skate shop and setting up your cruiser board with soft wheels. At the end, you answered a question which was “where do you see yourself in 5 years?” And you were pretty spot on
You should check out the reference layer feature in procreate! Try setting the line art layer to "reference" and then create a new layer underneath the reference (does not need to be a clipping mask) and then you'll be able to drag and drop to color fill, and it will respect the line art on the above layer!
congrats on being a father! the fish eye bring me back to when you were skating the revive warehouse a ton, and living in Ohio. Its crazy to see how far you have come
