Beyerdynamic used to be the "Technics" of headphones. The absolute gold standard. Sad to hear that they have all sorts of quality issues nowadays. I went into a store a few months ago. To buy a DT770 pro again. My old 770 lasted 10 years. The sales guy warned me that the 770 Pros of today, these new ones, are no longer the same quality what they used to be and he tried to convince me to go for the 990 range or Sennheiser ... Well, I guess I am finished with Beyer, all together.
Great headphones. I have the Ollo S4X and use the calibration plugin with my DAW when mixing. Is there a way to use the USC (calibration code) with the MPC? I have a MPC X red/black.
I blew 2 of my DT990s. Might be a sensitive driver or something. I struggle to find headphones to mix with besides DT990s. I got some custom planar Hifiman ones from custom cans which sound great but it’s extremely flat unlike normal headphones so it made mixing for the general public too difficult. You can of course learn your headphones but sometimes it’s easier to just use some cheaper Audio Technicas
I was also on my 2nd pair of 990s pro, just decided to try something new. Also agree, whatever headphones you get you gotta know them really well, this goes for speakers too.
