My New Prosthetic Leg: Jess Quinn

Jess Quinn was one of the first people in New Zealand to have rotationplasty surgery - it’s an operation where a large part of her leg is removed, and the foot is rotated 180 degrees and placed where the knee usually is. It means a prosthetic leg can be more functional, as the ‘backwards foot’ acts as a hinge - similar to the way a knee would bend. Now Jess is receiving a new prosthetic - one more lifelike than she’s ever had before.

I had osteo sarcoma in my right femur.. my parents decided I would have the cadaver bone transplant and I am 36 now having to amputate next month after 8 reconstruction surgeries.. I had the option to have rotationplasty at 10 yrs old as well.. life is good! Good luck girl!

Found the liberals. A guy makes an honest, positive observation about this beautiful young lady and they have to find a problem and reduce it to something it isn't. Seriously. The poster, myself included, see a beautiful woman and you have to twist it to be a problem. Go be fucking miserable elsewhere.

How bad is it that I looked at her two legs and didn't realise one was a prosthesis, and you literally can't even tell her foots the knee, as it looks like a knee when under the prosthetics, super cool, xx
