to get back on track, don't think about it too much, just do it (nike whoo). but literally just go to the gym and do a light workout just to get moving. Then go back the next day and the next and build it up. Don't focus on where you WERE, focus on where you ARE. otherwise it can just get frustrating! So just take it day my day and don't think oh I used to be better or stronger, just think of it as a new journey. you will get there!
thanks for the vlogs, they bring me so much happiness! I seriously love both you and meghan so much and you guys have truly changed the way I look at the world! :)
what motivates me again after getting off track is reminding myself how freakin GOOD i feel when i AM working out. like, i don't feel this sense of guilt and unproductively and bloatyness when i'm working out. and i HATE feeling those things. and i also remind myself WHY i started. like, was it because i hated how my clothes fit or because i needed a stress reliever. whatever it may be i remind myself of it because it refocuses me. hope this helps :)
love your videos lindsey. with work, school and just life in general I sometimes completely forget about youtube and a lot of youtubers but when I got get back your really the only one I care about catching up on. first guru I started watching religiously. keeping doing you and moving forward. love you! I also like when you're honest. reminds me we are all struggling with something and to not give up
love u lindsey!! as you change, the viewers who have changed with you will be the onrs who stay, and new ones who can connect to the current you will come :)
I just got a record player too! I absolutely LOVE it. I got so many good records from my Grandparents and then I bought a ton from Urban. I use it every single day, it's so great!
i think what motivates me to work out after taking a couple weeks off is knowing how good i feel after, and how less anxious/stressed it makes me :) its sooo easy to get off track but once you get that one workout in you wonder why you ever stopped!
I get motivated by looking at Instagram workout pages, or watching fitness youtubers like Nikki Blackketter. & with my diet i used to look at weekly/monthly and i would just get completely overwhelmed and go buck wild with the junk food. now I've learned to take it one day at a time and for me it really does make a difference. Also, when you look at yourself on a day to day basis its hard to notice changes but seeing your progress by taking monthly pictures or something can be extremely satisfying and motivating!
Love that you are vlogging again Lindsey! Don't be too hard on yourself. Just start little by little! Having a trainer is so important for motivation too. I think just take it day by day and set small goals, like this week I'll only go out to eat twice and workout twice. And just build it up from there. I travel a lot for work so it's so hard when I'm not at home to eat super healthy, so I take advantage of when I am home and cook and workout as much as possible. You can do it girl!
i feel the exact same way about the whole getting out of shape thing because i recently got an injury and its been making it really hard to get motivated again :( whats helped me in the past is to start relatively small (not so small that you don't feel like you're challenging yourself) but small enough so that you don't feel the need to put it off and its more approachable! its really hard on your body to not exercise for a bit and then suddenly throw yourself into some super hardcore workout routine, so start with something simpler and then build your way up to where you want to be! i love your videos and vlogs a lot btw.
Lindsey! I just wanted to tell you I have been watching you since we were both in high school, and I feel like we've grown up together. I've loved watching you grow into the person you've become. You're absolutely beautiful inside and out. Your vlogs make my day, they always have! Thanks for being you, don't let anything bring you down. I love you! ❤️
I love you girl! Please do a main channel vid about music, whether it be about the Festivals you been to or something along those lines! It's obvious that music is a passion of yours and i think many of us want to hear more about it in general from you! :) 💖✨
I've gotten back into my grind pretty recently and it helps to have friends that workout, not always going to the gym with them but my friend is training for a half marathon and she'll mention going running and then I'll think about when I can get to the gym that day. Also planning a routine and having some great podcasts and music to listen to. Then after a week or so I remember how good working out makes me feel and it motivates me to keep going
I've struggled with staying on track for about two years now. I still eat crap from time to time. But what gets me on the right track is looking at myself in the mirror and talking to myself, voicing to myself, how tired and sluggish I feel and how I feel and look better when I go workout and eat cleanly. So, to get back on track I pack my gym bag and all my food for the next day the night before. I set timers for when I need to go to the gym and eat the good stuff so that I don't forget or have any excuse. I also tell my brother when I go back on the routine and when he comes over for dinner, I'll show him my workout moves and progress- it feels good to hold a conversation about that kind of thing and have someone else tell you that you look great and healthy. Regardless though, you should always reassure yourself that you workout and get healthy for YOU. NO ONE ELSE. People in your life will come and go, so make the goals of your health with your future self. Hope it helps! Luv you!
Lindsey it makes me so sad to hear your getting discouraged over RU-vid!! Your vlogs and videos have been something I've looked forward to for almost 4 years now. Thank you so much them all. Each one has helped me and you are such a beautiful and genuine person. I love your videos and will never stop watching your channel.
I just had to laugh. Back in the day, us old farts never called them "vinyls". We called them records. LPs. EPs. 7" singles. 12" singles. 45s. Never heard vinyls in all my years. It must be a new trend from the young generation just discovering records. I also had to laugh at the didn't realise I needed speakers. Yup. The basics - the styli on the cartridge retrieves the information from the record groove, which goes to an amplifier which boosts the signal to send to speakers so you can hear the music. The AT-60LP has an in built amplifier. it doesn't really result in high fidelity (i.e. hi fi), but it'll be good enough for the majority of people today and it's good to see the younger generation appreciating records. One tip - you don't typically have speakers right next to your turntable - the vibrations from the speakers can cause issues with the styli tracking the grooves in the record. But it is nice to see you with a record player, and a half decent One at that. It's a much better choice than the Crosley crap that is being peddled by vendors. Yes, I'm an audiophile, and yes my set up is worth a lot more than this (probably around AUD 13k for my analogue front end), but you can get a lot of enjoyment from record players such as the AT-60LP without having to spend a fortune. It's not top end, but it's pretty damn enjoyable :-) Remember to take care of your records - handle them only at the edges and centre label, not on the actual groove sections - the oils in your hands and fingers are not good for the vinyl material that records are made from. It is a good idea to clean your records when you first get them using distilled water and a cotton cloth. There are cheapish record cleaners like spin right that require some effort but will do the job. Keep them in their plastic sleeves when not in use, and keep the room dust free. Store the records vertically, not horizontally too. happy listening!
I have one of the small suitcase-ish Crosley record players that everone has. I've been obsessed with vinyls ever since! For Record Store Day, this record store where I grew up always does a thing where you get a free vinyl for every dollar you spend. So i've got about 175 vinyls now! I need to do a "vinyl haul" type of video. Love that FTP album btw!
OMG. You do know that the Crosley tracks too heavy and your records will be damaged by now. It's sad that you bought so many yet you didn't educate yourself on what it means to take care of them and use a decent turntable. Also stop saying vinyls! It's incorrect. The plural is still vinyl.
@SierraWashington You better upgrade to an Audio Technica Lp60xbt which is the best record player the Audio Technica is a much better brand this past April I gave my sister an Audio Technica Lp60xbt from Barnes and Noble for her birthday and she loves it and she’s gonna sell her Crosley suitcase record player
I like to look at pictures of people who do work out daily and watch gym/morning workout routines to get me motivated. And I like to find cool healthy recipes that get me motivated to eat healthy and start working out! ily Lindsey!
It really helps me to incorporate working out or just being active into my daily schedule until it becomes a habit and then I am doing it regularly! Like, commit to a schedule and tell yourself you're going to go at this time on this day. And don't think about what you would rather be doing, don't think about it so much and literally just go. The hardest part for me is just getting the motivation to GO to the gym, but once you're there, you're obviously going to work out! Since you have a trainer I would schedule specific times, or maybe find a group of people to work out with on a regular basis, or sign up for classes. Something to hold you accountable so you don't skip out!
Also, on the eating part, think about how much better you feel when you eat something fresh and wholesome and healthy. Don't be down on yourself for getting off track, but just take mental note of what it feels like after you eat a clean and healthy meal, versus how you feel after eating something that's not good for you (physically AND mentally).
You should do some at home stuff with a yoga mat lindsey!! you have a lot of open floor space, and it would be a lot easier than having to go to the gym, and a productive way to spend your time at home--especially if you're watching TV or something, then you just work out while you are! I do this a lot, it makes it way easier to pass the time when you're entertained at home, but is still better than just sitting around. Blogilates is amazinggg
my main workout is my stationary bike in my room, and to get me motivated and to keep going while I'm doing it is to actually imagine my blood circulating through my body. That I'm breathing better, and my lymphatic system is working properly. It might sound silly but it gives me a wholesome feeling and it gets me up to exercise and keep going
to get back on track i watch motivational vids on youtube haha. Like watching youtubers vlogs i see everyone being so productive and getting stuff done. its super inspiring!!!
I just moved across the country and have completely fallen off track.. but my hubby and I planned an anniversary trip to mexico in a couple months which is a big motivation. Having a solid goal in mind helps a ton!
I think one of the hardest parts with working out is actually getting yourself to go there. I know with me it always felt like a big deal more when I was going to go work out or play a sport but once I'm actually there it feels great. I've been putting off going to the gym too except recently when my second semester of uni started I have been making going to the gym a priority and actually have set times to go that I refuse to be flexible with. I kind of treat it as having to attend one of my lectures for school which you shouldn't really skip. Also doing a fun sport with your friends once a week could be good, for example I try to play squash once a week and in the summer I play tennis. You already know how great it feels after a workout and how much it improved your life so I truly believe you will get back on track! You have grown into a really amazing woman and you can do this!! Sorry for this being so long this is like the second video I've ever commented on. :)
I'm very inconsistent in my exercising and healthy eating. At the beginning of every month I make small workout goals that increase each day and I don't allow myself to skip goals so if I miss a day I have to make up for it. With this mindset, it motivates me to do it more often so I don't have days where I'm doing 3 days work at once. I also always make sure I give myself rest days because it's like a reward for working hard. As for healthy eating, I try to find balance. I always need my pizza fix but eating a good healthy meal feels good too. Something different works for everyone, I hope you find what works for you!! Xo
i just got a record player too, i actually restored my mom's old pioneer from the 80s and i can't wait to expand my vinyl collection i can already tell that it's going to be a lifelong obsession i'm going to pass my vinyls onto my grandchildren
Ah Lindsey, I love you ❤️ Loving these more consistent vlogs and seeing your beautiful face no matter what you have to talk about ^_^ I love your new record player, I hope you enjoy it! Love and positive vibes sent to you from Iowa ❤️ mwah
I got out of the habbit of working out purely because I was so busy. I recently bought a wonder core smart, it is amazing, seriously. With days i noticed a big difference. I found it easier to build up from 10 mins 1 or 2 times a day and now I do about 30 mins and thats genuinely all I need. I would def recommend that for a home workout and rather than setting a time I just do it when I can.
find exercise that you love. I hate most exercise except, ice skating! i was a figure skater for a very long time. I go skate not because i want to exercise but because I like it! if you don't like a certain kind of exercise you aren't going to stick with it.
I find that the number one thing that makes me want to workout more is making myself do one short one to start, and from there I get into a rhythm. Also before I do the first one I like to watch fitness routines on youtube for motivation. Also I know you used to dance, not sure if you ever did ballet, but there are ballet beautiful videos on youtube that are great short workouts! xoxo
I fell off track back around the holidays and have just recently started getting back into working out and eating better. For me I needed to start with a detox. I just did a green tea detox to clear all the junk out of my system and this helped a lot. I have more energy which makes it easier to work out. Also, I will be starting at FIDM here soon and would love to hear more about your experience; maybe some tips and tricks! Thx Lindsey! Love your videos :)
Girl, I can totally relate to the struggle working out! Since starting university I've had such a hard time staying on track, especially during midterms :(
I have watched your videos for 5 years now! love ya! I love how you had those barbecue chips in the background haha. u never fail to stay true to yourself :)
One way I get back on track with the gym is to just go one day with no expectations. There's no goal in mind, just forcing myself to get to the gym to do at least one thing. I usually do my favorite cardio which is running. I don't hate the gym, I hate the process, and the time it takes. I love the actual working out part though, so it's about just getting there. If I go the next day it's great, if I don't then I know that maybe I need a mental break from the gym for a little bit and that's okay too.
Forgive yourself for not doing it. And then remember how awesome it makes you feel and go do it. Set a goal every day and do it. Reward yourself in good ways.
Hey Lindsey! I've been following you for many years, and I have to say... You're my favorite vlogger (now that you're more vlogging lol ) . Like your vlogs inspire me so much.. YOU inspire me son much. You're so free, open-minded,positive,kind... I wish we could meet and be friends.. I'll always love your videos and vlogs! And fyi, I'm glad our birthday is the same day :3 LOVE YOU LINDSEY!!!❤❤❤
The Audio Technica deck is a great bit of kit for starters. Especially with a little pair of powered speakers like this. I've whittered on loads about this kind of setup on my channel. Good choice!
You should look up the website The Edit. They send you texts every day with vinyls they think you'd be interested in. If you like it, you can just say like or you can buy it from them. It's pretty cool.
Stop feeling guilty and just make a plan for yourself. Buy food with intentions of making certain meals, keep things easy. And just plan to work out at a certain time of a day. Also, everyone messes up, so don't feel bad about it.
On days I workout, I'm so much more motivated to eat clean and healthy! On days where I don't workout, I feel like crap so I eat like crap. Just force yourself to go to the gym for a light workout that you enjoy (like yoga) and you will find it much easier to go next time! Love you tons!!
I love you so much Lindsey ❤️ I know you've been down recently about getting negative feedback on your videos but I absolutely love your videos and I've been watching for about 4 years now. You're such an amazing human being and you spread so much light and you should never forget that 😊 Don't worry about people who are judging and hating. Those who matter won't mind, and those who mind don't matter. Thank you so much for vlogging, seeing a new video from you makes my day!
Last year I lost twenty pounds after working out and eating clean and then I slowly stopped however I never gained weight and still was able to maintain weight but now I am back to working out again and the thing that has motivated me is seeing pictures of how I'd like my body to be and knowing I'd be more confident looking like that... Also buying cute workout clothes helps lol and just putting yourself on a schedule. I don't go to sleep unless I've ran 1-2 miles everyday. Once you start to see progress, that will motivate you as well
The only way I get myself to get back on track working out is literally if forcing myself to get my lazy ass up and to the gym! I sometimes look at it as alone time with myself! Think of all the positives of working out. The great body, being more productive, it helps you sleep, and you just over all feel better about life and yourself!
I have the exact same record player! I got it for Christmas and I love it. I agree about the speakers, though I've heard that record players with built-in speakers (like Croselys I assume) are a bit lower quality than those with separate speakers.
i didnt workout for a whole month this past year and i have a heart valve that is leaking and i need to keep it in shape because ill be having my 3rd surgery soon. point is i am in college and i have been trying to find myself ways to motivate myself to work out. I trained back home in Alpharetta Ga with my life time fitness trainer and it helped a lot but i lost my momentum. Now that i'm at school and on my own again in my sophmore year doing stuff every second of the day...i try to make time for my workouts. 1. know that its only for 30 mins or an 1 hr work out 2. know how fun it is going to be 3. get excited on what cute work out clothes your going to wear Now it comes to the part where you got to schedule the time For me if i'm going to school and i already know im going to be super busy and exxcited about being busy i make sure i never go home until the end of the day. I recently discovered when i went home around 4 to go home and get my workout clothes i will be tired. but if i pack my workout clothes in my bag i'll be excited because i get to release all the stress from class ans assignments that are due. i highly encourage this one a lot because it has certainly helped me. i have started only one day so far but i hope to continue it cause i love that i love of this idea. sorry linds for the long comment. i wish u best of luck! let me know if you have any more questions. i love u and meghan so so so much! btw go GEORGIANS! LOL And thank you for being such an inspiration in my life! love lindsey :)
Just force yourself to go to the gym one day. The first days always the hardest! I'm sure once you get back to the gym you'll see how good it makes you feel again, and you'll get right back into your routine! I know working out always makes me feel so much better(:
just go and once you feel that "feel good high" it will get you wanting to go more, at least that's how it works for me. That and finding new music to workout to.
Yeah... basically you just have to go head first. Don't think about it too much or else you'll just decide not to go. I personally just get dressed to go to the gym and just get out the door. It is also a good idea to make a specific time in your day for working out, like maybe at night. After the first night, it will become habitual and you will feel uneasy when you are not following a routine.

hey girl I know how you feel in regards to falling off track and the only thing that got me off my ass is to just do it. like you have to wake up and say it and write it down and keep it in the back of your mind until you do and then it's baby steps back to the top from there ❤️
I want to get a record player some day too. I feel you about the working out thing. I'll do pretty good for a while and then fall off and not go for months. Sometimes life gets in the way of working out. But that said, I know I can make time to do it, just getting started is the hardest part for me.
Also, my record collection is really growing! My best friend gave me a bunch of her old records (she's 18 yrs older than me) so I have a lot of baddass records from the 80's and 90's. And my mom gave me her records from the 70's. I've bought a couple more modern records at Hastings and thrift places.
some people have probably already torn your head off over this but "vinyls" isn't a word, the plural is still vinyl. just call them records when you want to speak in a plural sense if that'll make it easier... lol.
I get back on track dancing, learning a new cool choreography I liked, feeling my body moving, sweating, it makes it not so heavy I guess, because I'm already warm and it was doing something that for me is just fun, and the music makes you feel pumped, and there's not such feeling in the world like finally getting a choreography or getting a rap, it makes you feel like you can do anything, like you are a pro, like you can take over the world, so it motivates you to work out, and puts you in the mindset: I'm going to murder this workout, I'm so cool, is not that hard, you know ;)
You should check out Atomic Records in Burbank. I have bought most of my Beatles albums there. I'm lucky that my mom has a huge vinyl collection (including a bunch of 45s-if you know what those are). I used to listen to my mom's records back in high school and fell in love.
Don't leave records out even if you have the plastic top down. It will get dust in the grooves. I would recommend buying a microfiber cleaning cloth or they have bars of microfiber.
I book a vacation and then it gives me a solid deadline to get fit. At least 3 months in advance. It really makes you weigh every option when it comes to food which, imo, is the hardest part. Going to Dominican Republic in April. Haven't fell off the wagon yet.
love you lindsey you have inspired me to be positive. and love life and live in the moment. Thanks for everything. I love you. you are going to find your true subscribers through this challenge. I am going to stick with you every step of the way.
She said she bought the record player there but I agree :) I got all my vinyls from my dad, and find others at local flea markets. But I like classic rock, for people looking for newer albums..flea markets may not be the best place.
I use the Fit Girls app to get back on track, it has workout challenges set up with different workouts targetted for a different area for each day, and different recipies you can try! It doesn't pressure you to work out every day, and you can easily track your progress. It's a very inviting and motivating format. I think you would really like it!
YAAAY!! 💁🏽🌸 I'm glad your back vlogging again!! 🎥📷 I miss you so much ❤️❤️😩 seeing your beautiful face! Btw, what vlogging camera do you recommend for people starting out doing RU-vid because I'm a RU-vidr too! I just started and I use the Nikon COOLPIX L330 HD camera for my beauty videos but I don't know the best vlogging camera for vlogs! 😩😩😭😂😂😂✌🏽️💕 btw LOVE YOU LINDSEY 💕💞❤️
You can also try something new. I started taking pilates barre classes a month ago and I'm considering training to become an instructor because I found I love it so much. I'd rather be at the studio than my actual job 😂😂
For me, I have to remind myself why I started working out in the first place. Remember that you love your body and that you want it to be healthy, and when you make time to work out (or decide to eat fruit instead of candy) that you are benefiting yourself and your health for the long run. I'm also like you where I MUST HAVE DESSERT haha, I just try to choose healthier options. I become off track all the time, but getting into it and feeling my energy come back makes it all worth it. I believe in you Lindsey! :) P.S check out WayofGray, I LOVE her workout programs, they are cheap, easy to follow, are only 30-45 min, and can all be done at home with no equipment.
Don't you need hook up to a receiver?? Is yours the audio Technica lp60 model your using still if no receiver is needed I definitely want get this now please respond back.
i made the exact same mistake as you when i bought that record player. but i also went through 3 different speakers because it wouldn't play loud and then realized that it was on the wrong output... oops. but i will say it is an awesome record player, especially for a beginner
I just started going to the gym today. I was off track for a long time as well. I just thought of all the crap food I've been eating lately and how I don't want to live that kind of lifestyle. Just tell yourself that you want to go because you want to be healthy and active! You don't want all that junk food to catch up to you one day. I was craving chips though today so I can't wait till my cheat day on Friday 😂. I'm actually impressed that I didn't eat any crappy food after the gym.
You should get The 1975's new album on vinyl. I like it when you sleep for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it. It's incredible. Also so glad you are Vlogging again
You should get the app pump up it motivates me so much and it's just one big pump up family on there. There is a lot on that u can do and everyone is so nice and supported.
You have a good turntable with metal platter which is heavy to make the speed more stable and magnetic cartridge which the sound quality better than ceramic. Many young people has a turntable with plastic platter which is lighter that results in unstable speed with ceramic cartridge which the sound quality is not as good as magnetic.
