MY NEW RIG! HEADRUSH MX5 METAL DEMO!

Nice man!, I bought one and I can suggest going into the ... at the top right hand corner and then select the global settings. Next press the 3 at the top right to select page 3 of options which will show you the over all EQ, you can take some of the treble of the top as it is really quite hectic straight out of the box and you can play around with the over all EQ. Next thing is to get and install some IR's ( impulse responses ), Headrushfx have a few free ones you can get in a pack and then there is a God cab's IR's. Its a matter of downloading the packs, make sure you connect the MX5 to a PC using the device to usb cable and press ... at the top right, press global settings, now press the ... AGAIN and now select usb transfer ( this will connect it to the pc like an external HDD ) unzip the files and then copy or the file to the MX5, IR's go in the Impulse Response folder and Rig etc in the Rigs folder. Eject MX5 from PC, Press Sync on MX5 and you are done and ready to use all the new stuff. There is videos online from headrush about it but I thought I'd post this to help anyone who maybe be having issues navigating this amazing little thing. This really helped me to start getting much better tones and overall sound and response as the stock setup was really really punchy and bright to the point where it was hard to get nice tones that didn't have an overbearing treble bite to it but this fixed the problems! Rock on!!!

I have the Headrush Gigboard and I really like it. And the main reason I went with it was because of that touch screen. And the gigboard has the bigger screen like the full size pedalboard does, but I do like the compactness of the MX5.

Headrush modellers are legit. I have the pedalboard and I love it. The touchscreen is so fast and easy to use. If you use plug ins at all I would suggest checking out the Headrush FRFR powered speaker. I use amplitube and Bias FX through the headrush speaker instead of my monitors and it is incredible. It sounds like you are sitting in front of the actual amp instead of that compressed studio monitor sound.

Just got one of these the other day, my first impressions weren’t great going through the amp models, but ended up finding a good one, and really spent some time messing with different distortions, EQs and cabs and actually ended up creating a sick tone, if you put the effort into it tweaking and trailing a bunch of stuff you can get some real dope chugging/crunchy djent tones, super pleased with my resulting tone, and couldn’t be happier with the MX5

I use the gigboard and our other guitarist uses the Mx5. They sound great and make life so much easier

That pedal sounds so Good, the opening Riff with the Fender is so badass, it reminds me of how heavy plain Ol' Dropped D really is, you covered all the basis with the different tunings and Guitars, very nice Ray! I give you my very best GOLF CLAP Sir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love that thing, bro. Sounds great. I've been recording directly with my Pod Go and it has such a better feel and response than plugins, and is soooo much more convenient than trying to dial in a physical amp with different sounds for dynamic songs.

Missed the "Raymbience" patch name but hey, we get some pinch harmonic laden TOOL so, all is forgiven LOL. I had a gigboard for a while, kind of miss the switches on this MX5 I have, but like, when I think of juggling modelers its "what the hell am I gonna find in the Stomp I had? more option paralysis in more amps?" It sounds great, and pairing it with a powercab 112? Checks all the boxes. Loved the tones dude.

Ray, don’t know if you will see this but I had to take my Epi LP studio back due to 11/22 frets being uneven, tried a new squier 27” baritone yesterday and couldn’t get along with it, ended up with an ocean blue Schecter Omen Extreme 6.

Ray, dude! I owned the big HeadRush when it came out and sold it because it was too big for my needs, commence the MX5! I snagged it as soon as I could and have had it for a few weeks now, I love it! My only gripe is that, just like with the Helix, I find the built-in noise gates to be very unnatural feeling, and they kill sustain in an unsatisfying way, both the input gate and the gate within the effects section of the HeadRush. I kept all of my HeadRush presets from 2018 when I got the MX5 a few weeks ago and imported them and was amazed at how good (and bad) some of them sounded, it was a nice reminder of how my sound had evolved through time. Right now I am using the Jens Bogren IRs with my MX5 and they are very different from IR to IR so the sonic possibilities seem endless, I have all 3 IR packs but I mainly use the rhythm pack. When I owned the big HeadRush I mainly used Lancaster/Rosen Digital and Audio Assault IRs, which, are still good, but to me, the Bogren IRs are on another level, especially for mix-ready tones. You have become one of my favorite guitar RU-vidrs since I discovered you around the beginning of this year. Keep rocking and Happy Veteran's Day a day early!

I couldn't bond with the MX5. It sounded muddy to me and the fact that I had to crank the gain really high on "high gain" amps to get them to sing was evidence that their amp modeling tech does not accurately model the amplifiers. In fact, one of the first thing I did on the MX5 was to turn on the global EQ to try to dial out that muddiness. I ended up getting the new Hotone Ampero II Stomp while I could still return the MX5 and let's just say I never touched the MX5 again. I was instantly impressed by the sound coming out of the A2S, especially from the high gain amp models.

I’ve played them all over the years what I found out was simple axe fx is king but they change there products way to much so screw that. Quad is new sounds great way to expensive for the stuff they have on it for now headrush does a great job on there sounds lacks of bass options. Helix family best bang for your buck easy to get your hands on. Just takes way to long to set up

The MX5 absolutely KILLS in its price range. It destroys the pod go and HX stomp for DSP, which if you take advantage of actually gives you a far wider palette than the aforementioned line 6 products. For example the MX-5 can run 4 amp sims in stereo and still have plenty of power to run other fx, cab sims, IR whatever. You have to spend A LOT more to get that kind of firepower with other brands. I think if more people understood how to take full advantage of a MX-5 they would be flying off the shelves.

Love what you do man. But to me that the worst guitar sound you ever broadcasted so far. I don't understand the hype on this unit
