I didn't have the awesome router jig (or a router) but this video did give me the confidence that we could shorten a stock door to fit our short basement walkout. Used a clamp on straight edge and circular saw with carbide blade to rim the door. Made a new insert for the sweep to mount to and perfectly fitting door. THANK YOU!
Great video. Just what I was looking for. What kind of door shoe did you use? Was it one that "cups" both sides of the door? This will be one of my springtime projects to fix the previous owners failure to realize that their new hardwood floors were going to be higher than the threshold...😠
This isn’t carpentry this is a Festool ad and I’m yet to see anything festool worth the price and before y’all call me a broke bitch nah son everything paid cash BY MYSELF house land and rental properties rec toys etc ect I just don’t see the value in festool for those who don’t believe me watch product farms best drill the festool is just overpriced junk!
Nice video, I just did one the hard way the other day, the so called carpenter told the home owner ahh ya don't need a wood filler in there that foam is tough and will last forever. 8-( of course the weather strip needs something tough enough to fasten to. I hope some day to own some featool stuff. 5*****
Seems like you were more interested in doing a commercial for your tools than you were showing us how you cut the door. You even named the video 'Cutting' but didn't explain that part. Spend more time showing rather than plugging your tools.
He did a fine job of explaining exactly how to do the job. I was able to easily see what I need to do even without the jig. Some people are always looking for something to complain about.
