Is this the cheapest SkyShed Pod Dome Observatory in the UK? I only paid £800 for the observatory. Let me know if you have a cheaper one in the comments below.
Hi everyone, in this video I take you along on the journey across country to pick up my new SkyShed Dome observatory. I hired a Luton van and drove nearly 700 miles to pick up the SkyShed Pod Dome and I take you along for the journey. I show you collecting the SkyShed pod and then the building of a new patio and the observatory itself. Thank you everyone who helped with the collection and the build, I really appreciate it.

I wish much fun with the skyshed pod Russel! Because of the construction of the Dome ist a good idear to set the mount not in the center, a little bit to south is perfect, so the view in direction zentih isnt covered to much. I first build a concrete pier in my garden, and after that the Pod was installed. All the best an clear skies Jörg from northern germany....

You sat the walls on slabs? Good idea to make a tray of heavy PVC like pond liner coming a few inches up inside of the walls. The dehumidifier now only deals with condensation from air. Lot of expensive kit! Justifies the 370w or 670w to run that dessicant dehumidifier, which also has no auto on feature. Only preset off.

So jealous mate. One thing - I noticed tall hedges/fence next to the pod. What’s your view of the sky like?

Thanks Duncan. Yes, the hedge is fairly close, but that's north and Doesn't block too much of the sky. The south sky is pretty clear from that part of the garden. It was the only part of the garden I could put it, so didn't have much choice if I'm honest. Thanks for watching.

I'm sure you'll get tons of suggestions for how to set everything up but if you get a chance have a look for Jason Coon on RU-vid and his March 7th , 2022 Vid called " Astrophotography in my SkyShed Pod ' He does something a little different to the Dome to allow a greater view . It's interesting if nothing else . Cheers !/SRK
