My new toy fox terrier puppy - Divot 

Oh, I love those little pups so much.

He is soooo beautiful, making me cry reminding me of my 2 mini foxies who have recently passed after having them for 16 & 17 years you get so attached, please give him cuddles from me!!

TFT are a very loyal breed. They are fierce in their protective nature, even though they are of smaller size. They are best dogs in my opinion! They are so humorous and delightful... One is very lucky to be loved by a toy-fox terrier....... =) I have been blessed twice now!!! Best wishes with you sweet dog!

Divot is GORGEOUS !! Very well bred I'd say. I've had 3 TFT's. One lived to 21 and the other 17. The 21 yr old was 4 1/2 lbs and healthy almost to the end, people didn't believe me when I said his age !! Lost my 17 yr old last year. Miss them both. Such a fun, lively, smart/stubborn little breed ! Playing tug of war is their favorite I think. Mine didn't care for the dog park as recreation, he just sniffed everywhere instead of playing - and it was a park for small dogs. Thanks for this cute reminder of how wonderful they are.

He is an awesome example of a toy fox in every way! We’ve owned 2 toy foxes , Ace and Sting , and they both lived long happy lives, and were playful until almost the very end. What a great breed.

I adore TFT's ! I've had two that were long lived . One was 21 and other 17. Lived good lives right up till lend. Maybe a little grumpy last year !! Lovely dog, looks well bred.

Im gettin my tft in 3 weeks at age of 8 weeks, it has actually nearly normal length tail, not even close to a stub or anything, but i like the waggling tail of mine tft. Amazing job with the training, i did

Thanks! I'm really enjoying this puppy time. With one dog with a bad shoulder who can't do agility, and another dog who is amazing in class but can't seem to get past his trial stress in the Standard ring ... I was ready for a new puppy. Divot is everything I was looking for - confident, playful, drive, smart, and a sweetheart. Hopefully I won't screw it up.:-)

Dirk, that is a Toy Fox Terrier. We have 4 of them now. *S* I think this is the same "Divot" that has done some competitions in agility that I have seen and also on my Facebook folks.

wow for 9 weeks this is sooo good! I have a TFT too:) They are so awesome. mine is a tan and white though.

Many Toy Fox's are born with short tails, Mine was. The docking does not hurt the animal, the nerves have no yet grown out of the body, into the tail... unlike when the dog is older, and tail removal is major surgery. My dog, hunts small game in the yard (although I try to stop her, good luck) a wild dog tried to catch her by the tail, and she escaped under the shed, unharmed due to the lack of a tail...

@Sunshinecircle123 They are great lap dogs. They are very smart and easy to train, but you have to make the training fun for them. They love to play games, so turn the training into games. Some can be stubborn, they are terriers. Some are very high energy, some are lazy couch potatoes. Divot is more high energy than my others, but he is mellowing out a bit as he ages. He is not as high energy as a lot of other terriers, like Jack Russell Terriers.

I just LOVE toy fox terriers. I have two of them. A boy and a girl the boy is named Turner and the girl is Kinzy and they are 10 months old there soo cute i have a video of them, its called toy fox terrier tackle just search that up and there it is :)

@FuTuReRoYaL Clicker training... show the dog that when you click the clicker, he gets a treat... then wait for the dog to sit on his own, click the clicker, and reward. They catch on quick and start offering a sit in hopes of a reward. Repeat for other behaviors, like a down.

@Sunshinecircle123 We love the video of you with Divot. We have done research with our 12 & 16 yr old daughters and plan on getting a TFT. We live in South Florida. What info can you share with us about breeders?

@Sunshinecircle123 Although they are a relatively healthy breed, you should research health issues so you can ask about those when speaking to breeders. Also, keep in mind that these are toy dogs - they are tough and hardy, but they ARE breakable and should not play with larger dogs unless the larger dogs are very respectful of the small TFT size. Serious injuries can be caused when playing with larger dogs. This is not a breed that should be taken to dog parks.
