Sally, I don't know how this came up for me but I am sure glad it did! What a story! Those were adventurous times and my gosh, your middle name is "adventure"! Amazing story from an incredible time! I got into Deep Purple perhaps a year later..just about the time they broke up.

Considering what i've heard about rb over the years i'm surprised he let you into the dressing room and NOT surprised he hung up the phone.

@Sally Steele I am not quite sure how I came across your channel earlier but I am glad I did. I have watched 2 videos so far and really enjoy the way you tell your stories. You should be proud as well that you were/are classy enough that you didn't just run to Ritchie's room and let him have his way with you. Bands having sex with 13-15 year old girls was sort of common back then & even guys not in bands were dating 80% of the girls I went to Jr. High & High school with & I graduated in the earlier 1980s but was in Jr High during the 1970s. I know because us teenage boys couldn't compete with these guys we now know were creeps because they were 27-30+ years old and dating teenagers. We even had a dude who was 28 with a full beard who walked into our High School everyday in 1982 to pick up his 15 year old girl friend by waiting by her classroom door & nobody called the authorities or even thought this was a little odd except for us 16-17 year old guys who couldn't compete with these guys. They may have been creeps, but they had nice cars and money, etc... OK, enough of that LOL I am a guitar player as well & saw Deep Purple twice during the mid 1980s when I was around 20 ish during their Perfect Strangers & House Of The Blue Light reunion tours. I also played several Deep Purple songs in a few of the bands I was in back then as well. I have a friend who is Japanese and his sister was a runway model for years during the late 1970s and early 1980s. She dated Ritchie Blackmore a few times and said he was a total jerk & complete assh*le so you probably dodged a major bullet by not going to his hotel room. She is currently still married to a member of the band Chicago and dated a few other famous guys as well. She said Robert Palmer was a nice, polite gentleman & Daryl Hall was as well but Ritchie B & Jan-Michael Vincent were total jerks who she couldn't get away from fast enough. Rush is my favorite band so I will look to see if you have any stories about them. I still play guitar and I am 57. I live in NH about 1 hour north of Boston. I really enjoyed your story and can't wait to watch more of your videos. You are a class act who knew enough not to get tangled up in whatever Ritchie had in mind that evening. You must have a healthy self-esteem as well to not have just taken his offer. I still remember creeps like Ted Nugent talking about picking up 13 year old girls at his concerts and then bringing them home so he could exploit their naivety & do whatever he wanted to with them because they were easier to manipulate than a real grown up woman. He justified all of this by saying "at least I wasn't doing drugs with them"???? That shows how insecure guys like him are/were being around 30 years old and going after 13 year old girls. What a insane way to rationalize it as well. My daughter is married and 30 years old now but I would have rather she was smoking weed with another teenager at 13 then having sex with some 30 year old creep. I don't understand it because I can't even view women younger than 30-35 as being date-able if I was single & it is important for me to have social & cultural things in common with my partner & I am still happily married after many decades with 2 grown up children & my wife went to both Deep Purple concerts with me in the 1980s as well :) along with dozens upon dozens of other concerts as well. Sorry for the mini novel LOL I didn't intend on writing this much it just sort of happened.
