There may be . . . but these are just little kids who don't know any better and a poorly constructed and insulated house. The people to blame would be their parents. Mine would have never let us do that indoors (except at a birthday party or something like that). They'd make us go outside because THEY didn't want to put up with it. Mind you, it was a lot easier to put your kids unattended in the backyard back in the 1960s than it is now (what could happen?). ;)
I remember the hell I went through with inconsiderate upstairs noisy neighbors. I drove me INSANE! I had very evil thoughts. I didn't want to come home after work. They made my life a living hell. I knock on the door and all they would tell me is that they are children. BOY I had evil thoughts and I wanted them to evaporate. I ended up giving up my HUGE 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom apartment which I LOVED. I ended up moving to a top floor apartment.
I know exactly what you feel. I have big problems with my above neighbours, two young men who put music, speak loud, etc..For over a two years my life is an living hell..I have evil evil thoughts about them too..I called the police six times! I submit three written complaints. NOTHING! I dont want to come at home after work anymore. In the free days, or weekends me and my wife run out in downtown not to stay at home. Even in the short moments of silence, I am tensed, stressed out, down with my nerves. I sleep with earplugs even it is silence. Its a nightmare and I dont know what to do anymore...
Texas_Raised_ Texas _Made The apartment is my wife s property. There is no rent, lease, etc. We intend to move out, with her parents or in a new apartment..
Every city has some kind of housing council that will deal with issues tenants have with landlords who aren’t responsive ...I don’t know where you live but where I’m from it’s called Rochester Housing Council...I feel your pain been there before 🤬 Good Luck
Someone should seriously pass a law to make the material between apartment floors thick and sound absorbent enough that anyone jumping on the floor under 100 pounds can barely be heard because literally no one can live sanely or happily with all that noise. I deal with the same thing. I'm sure everyone who lives under kids does it's really not the kids fault and sometimes you just can't control a child to sit perfectly still all day. People that develop apartments just need to make the effort to sound proof between floors during construction and to anyone that thinks people need to get over it or do this sort of thing on purpose should be forced to live under a bunch of hyper kids with parents that work at home for a year. I guarantee you you will lose your absolute mind within a month. You'll wish you were dead by the end of the year.
Fuck living like this. I've been sleep deprived for 1,5 years now because of noisy neighbors and it's the main source of stress in my life. Never thought I would end up in this situation after saving up to buy my first apartment... I love the apartment itself but the noise makes it feel like claustrophobia nightmare.
The worst noise on the planet I went through it for a year and a half had to go get therapy and psychiatrist I wanted to do bad things my manager finally helped me when he realized I was about to sue them for breach of my lease but it was hell n I’m still fighting but it’s not this noise anymore so I’m thankful for that u are a very patient man because your last video was horrible no one deserves that I hope u are in a better place now
I once had neighbors like that. They eventually went missing, they just vanished one day left everything behind and where never seen again. Its been so nice and quiet ever since. Sometimes I think about them and I hope no one ever finds their bodies.
The parents have the gall to say "they're only kids" and take no responsibility in teaching the little shits about boundaries and acceptable behavior while indoors. I am 70 y/o and have to listen to this shit every day when the kids, age 6 and 3 are home. Sometimes mom screams at them to "stop" but she doesn't bother to tell them WHAT they should STOP or WHY. Apt. manager talked to them so for about 2 weeks there was an improvement, but now it's back to the same. The shits are getting bigger/heavier so they make more noise.
Have you spoken to the enviromental health people? Have you shown this to your landlord? Its is disgusting. Maybe you should show this to your idiot nieghbour too drive them mad knocking and complaining like they drive you mad.
I feel for you, going through a similar situation with anti-social upstairs neighbours who have 3 young kids, stomping around at all hours including the parents. I found that by banging on the ceiling and walls it only made matters worse for me, so deciding to temporarily move out for my own sanity! Seems like their form of twisted entertainment is annoying us :(
I just got the best revenge on my lead footed upstairs neighbors. They clomp incessantly and never sit down. They also never take their shoes off when entering their apartment. Soooo, I bought two bottles of the worst smelling fart barf spray and dumped the whole bottle on their outdoor mat. They came home and had to walk on that oily spray to enter their apartment. Needless to say, they did their usual constant walking all over their apartment. I just saw them leave with overnight bags!!!!! The smell up there must of been awful!!!!! Enjoying a night of peace and quiet. Got the spray off Amazon.
I live in a noisy apartment. This is what I do. When I don't want to listen to them blaring the tv or constantly walking around, while I am studying, I play white noise videos on RU-vid through my tv. I have a great stereo system hooked up to my tv. It blocks out the noise and makes living in my apartment more tolerable.
It does not work, you still can hear the hitting, dragging of my neighbors playing casino game day and night on weekends. I tried to play music rock and roll and blocks, but the problem is I will have hearing damage if you keep listening to blasting sound on your headset besides I get tired of listening music to block the another noise.
@@spocksmusic pleased to hear that. Hope you have someone more considerate living above you. Noise from neighbours is hell. We should all be entitled to peace where we live.
@@bluecali4na Both. They are so much quieter but the floor is shot from years of kids bouncing on it. Plus, there is absolutely no insulation whatsoever.
Exactly what I'm dealing with. Imagine they put there kids for a nap between 5/8pm then all the banging, screaming starts.. nt to mention I have 2 dogs next door which constantly bark. So there's no escaping the noise! The effect its having on my mental health is unbelievable!! Depression and anxiety my nerves are shattered
I turn my t.v up...then go out for a few hours. Disturb me & i'll disturb you. There are no winners but i wont be bullied or dominated by anybody. STAND UP FOR YOURSELF💥🙋♂️😆⭐
This is exactly what I’ve been going through. The flooring shouldn’t creek like that in the upstairs unit. It’s a sign that the flooring is defective. I would call code enforcement to check the flooring in the upstairs unit.
Jene, in my apartment, the floors above me creek and my floor (2nd floor) creeks throughout the ENTIRE apartment. Even when I step into the bathtub, the bathtub creeks like it's about to cave in. My living room floor has a depression in it that creeks. Also the staircase (6 stairs) creeks. This is a very dated building. Like 1970's dated.
I just moved into an apartment that I "thought" was nice and quiet. Yeah. That's what I "thought." Those stomping and knocking sounds in the video, remind me of my upstairs neighbors. They get so loud that the ceiling and the walls actually shake. How do they NOT KNOW that someone (me), lives beneath them???? Absolutely shameful behavior. I informed my property manager that I can't live like this, and was told to "work it out with my neighbor." I don't feel comfortable approaching a complete stranger about his/her noise that's infringing upon my peace of mind. This happens day in and day out, every single FREAKING DAY! It's enough to drive a person to suicide. That's how bad the noise has affected my emotional and mental health. They're violating the terms in the rental property agreement.
I'm sorry to hear that. On the Sunday we looked the place over they were out - and the place was quiet and sunny. It wasn't until later, after we moved in that we realized all the problems (the neighbours being just one of them).
@@spocksmusic When I looked the place over around 9:00 am last month, I remarked to my property manager how quiet it was. 1. They (neighbors), were probably at work and kids were at school. Or 2. They were home and saw the property manager's car in front of the apartment and decided that it would be wise to not make any noise. Edit: The property manager already KNEW that the upstairs neighbors were a noisy bunch, but only hinted AFTER I had signed my lease, that I should work out noise complaints with my neighbor. Another thing; the guy that delivered my bedroom set told me that he recently moved someone out of the apartment that I'm in now. Those two veiled hints were warnings. I've only been here two weeks and I'm breaking my lease! I can't live like this anymore. I'm having panic attacks and any noise makes me jumpy (hypersensitive). I feel sorry for the next tenant(s), who decide to move into the apartment I'm in. They have NO respect for anyone and they're influencing their children to disrespect others. Absolutely shameful behavior.
Again sorry. Our first landlord just wanted people in the basement so they could sell the place as a rental/as is. We had holes with water streaming down at times that they ignored until the new landlord took over (and fixed - she's a sweetie - but we had to wait almost a year until it was fixed). There are so many structual problems with the the place (the toilet only flushes 1 out of a dozen or more tries)but that's on us. We hope to move in the next couple of years.
The upstair neighbors I have is driving me crazy!!!!!!! I don't even feel comfortable in my own apt anymore any type of thump or banging noise makes my anxiety worse I hope they burn in hell!!!!!!!!
We are going through this just recently some new tenants moved upstairs with kids and it's non stop jumping, stomping, screaming, tv on high volume all hours of the night until 4 in the morning. I have to get up at 6 in the morning for work and have been feeling restless from not getting enough sleep or peace of mind! I even called the cops since the security in the apartment complex didn't do anything. I told the cops I understand they are children, but when it sounds like a bowling ball is being dropped on the floor or someone about to fall through the ceiling from the constant jumping off the couch and bed. So after the cop went to talk to the parent(s) they purposely started pounding on the floor more and even threw a water bottle from the top floor onto our doorstep. It's like they have no respect at all. It's messing with us mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. I'm trying to look for another place but struggling financially to afford a better place. I hope your situation has gotten better.
I moved from a perfect side by side duplex into a ground level apartment 12 days ago and I’m miserable. I moved to try to move on after losing my mom where we shared that home. My first night here I realized what a mistake I made. Stomping is intolerable, BASS-Y, you can feel it in your soul. I’m starting to have PTSD where I think I feel and hear it at night but it’s not there. I’m beside myself with anxiety. This kind of stress causes chronic illness and is responsible for cortisol dumps that lead to widespread inflammation. It’s ABUSE.
I'm sorry to hear you're going through this I know the feeling as I commented on this post earlier. Tenants just moved upstairs and they are non stop with the noise and do it more on purpose now that it was brought to their attention. The tv is blaring until 4 in the morning in the kids room which is right above our room. The family doesn't go anywhere all day so there really isn't any long period of time where it's quiet. There will be times where you won't hear something for a few minutes and then a huge thump on the floor will startle me. This has caused me to forget what it's like to enjoy anything I have a hard time sleeping, eating, when I go to work I feel sluggish because I'm not getting enough rest. I've had break downs from this and the parents add to it by turning their radio loud late at night. I have 2 cats that are starting to become jumpy over little things too from the loud pounding.
I had this issue and so I played extremely loud dance music (which I listen to with headphones on normally). I thought to myself: "Why am I being considerate using headphones to listen to music?". So that was it until I moved out. And I will never live in a flat again for as long as I live.
of course the people in power dont care in the slightest about this kind of misery. This video alone should be enough for an instant enforced solution. nice people need to be seperated from evil people that enjoy causing pain in this sort of fashion.
That sounds exactly like my place! I live alone in a 2 bed/2 bath in Chicago, and no matter what room I go into, there's that noise above me...squeaking floors, running, jumping, screaming, things dropped, balls being rolled, furniture dragged or knocked over, stomping on the floor, yelling from the balcony.....My ceiling fans, bathroom fixtures and dishes in the cupboard rattle. To make matters worse, the "mom" ("mom" used loosely, as there is no parenting going on up there) started a makeshift daycare/"school" after Labor Day, so add about 6-8 kids to the 2 obnoxious ones that live there. Pure hell! Complained to landlord, alderwoman and City of Chicago. It sounds like a playground/school cafeteria above me from 7am-10pm. Love this apt, but moving before the end of the year, to either a top floor unit or a cabin in the middle of nowhere.
I feel your pain! I’m going through the exact same thing. Just waiting for lease to to be up to get out of here because speaking with the neighbor and landlord has done nothing. I love the apartment but I can’t live with the noise from an inconsiderate neighbor.
OMG this is exactly, what I hear on my ceiling almost every day ( it feels, like hammer kicking my head) and sadly there is no help anywhere from neighbours like these :(
So familiar. Started at 4-5am. Every day. Rolling of the dishwasher. Constant movement! The lady’s face, on the sofa, says it all. Hope they’ve since moved out!
@@spocksmusic Good! I had to break my lease and move for my mental health. The new place is not the best but at least they sleep at night. Knock on wood 😂
I lived in my apartment for 3 and a half years now and it's been all peace and quiet, never had a problem with the noise, but 3-4 weeks ago my neighbors started driving me nuts (they are the same neighbors as they own their apartment). When they are home they stomp all over the place non stop, throwing things on the ground and shit, slamming doors. It's nowhere near as loud as it was in this video as we have concrete walls/ceiling but it's still annoying as they are doing the noise right above me. Can't wait to move to a house and never have to live in an apartment for the rest of my life.
its always like that for me, i have neighbours who play the guitar at 11 at night and in the morning, they also have kids who cry all night and all day and they dont even do anything about it. in addition to this, their kids run around and stomp and etc at approximately 9 in the morning every day.
You can even hear thier kids screaming wow thats crazy. I had a neighbor next door and every night it sounded like he was banging the wall it was weird i was like why are you making out with the wall?
I can't wait for my lease to be up. This shit is effecting my mental health. I feel like we should get a reduction of rent for having to endure this shit.
I moved out of my flat in April, had to cut my tenancy short because of an asshole upstairs. I’m a university student, so I definitely couldn’t take that. I used the broom method and it worked for like a week but then he started imitating me. While I waited for them to find a tenant I played my favourite music out loud, he didn’t like that hehe.
Me too :/ hope its better for you these days. I'm having to move but waiting for an unknown amount of time for my housing authority to certify everything before i can
My upstairs neighbour was a schizophrenic alcoholic. He used to scream all the time, bang on the walls, etc. He finally moved or got removed. Then I got a few months of relative peace... and now my next neighbour is using power tools, drills, hammering, dropping heavy stuff on the floor for hours almost every day. I'm going insane. I dread going back home but I'm too poor to move. My landlord, the council, the police, etc, no one cares. They say he's allowed to do it during the day. It feels like someone is invading my home. People are so inconsiderate nowadays. I genuinely want to die. I've had a very shitty life and it feels like it never stops. I can't even have peace. Sartre was right, Hell is other people. Life sucks. And these Times where silence and peace are a rich man's luxury suck even more.
Same as my situation currently my neighbours retaliating now after my complaints. Does it happen on all day and is your building a new build or old? sounds like they have floorboards and no carpet
I will like it only because you posted it : / I've lived with barking dogs, loud stereos and televisions, and once a guy with a full drum kit. I wasn't impressed either. Your cat didn't look impressed either. Love your space!
I’m going through the same thing. I had to re-home my dog because she was getting severe anxiety from the excessive noise and sudden bangs on the floor. How did your poor cat take it?
Fortunately, our noisy neighbours moved a couple of years after I made this video. The cats were used to it - it only really bothered my wife and I. The new neighbours were very quiet (other than the squeaky floor - probably ruined from those 3 kids you hear in this video).
@@spocksmusic that's good I finally moved out of the downstairs apartment back in 2008 the upstairs neighbor I had back then was 2 gymnast and they dance and stomp alot my whole apartment was vibrating and shaking from them so now I live in a country town where there's no neighbors around nice quiet place
Im living with this right now. 10 years we've been here, very happy (or else we would have been long gone)... Suddenly I'm being woken at 3am by 2 screaming 2 year olds and parents who feel the need to rearrange the entire fucking living room every day. Also, they all seem to walk by stomping as loud as they physically can.
Seriously. They literally can't go 5 seconds, FIVE. SECONDS, without making noise. Yelling, shouting, stomping, jumping, creaking, grating, crying, the TV...
I had people that lived above me that used to roll their bowling ball across the kitchen floor and talk about that nights bowling league. Never ended. Couldn't talk to them, they could care less.
OK guys this works for me, people upstairs have 2 kids One two the other who knows. I bought ear protection muffs from ebay for $3.60, best investment I made for this problem. So when they start running around I play music not too loud but loud enough so they can hear. and play it til about 7am. All night, and I don't hear a thing, seriously. and I guess since they start work at 8am they got the hint, and I haven't had a problem since. The ear muffs are very comfortable
my neighbors are doing the same thing, only mine run their extremely loud bathroom fan for hours on end, almost never turn it off and it shakes my entire apartment and makes the floors all vibrate. They wont ever answer their door to talk so i ended up buying a white noise machine for $20 on amazon and it plays all kinds of sounds to cover up their noise. It helps a little.
Thank you - but they moved a few years ago and it has been soooo much better since (even the one year with "the very nasty lady" - at least she was quiet).
My upstairs neighbors have no kids. For 9 years now,all the neighbors I had upstairs(all with no kids) were like this!If I tell them to stop(the woman who lives upstairs from them complains too about the noise)and they do even more so!It's like they're all bred by the same mother!
This is what they neighbor sounds like upstairs from my son's apartment in Toronto right over his sleeping area. He is a paramedic/shift worker and needs to sleep in the day. I tried going there to visit and stay over a few times and I can't sleep at ALL. It's hellish, I don't know how he does it. I really don't think they should have been allowed to rent out this apartment. The man said he sound proofed it which he CLEARLY did not.
I feel your pain dude! As a musician who played every evening with my doors open for my neighbors to enjoy! That ceased when the oh so lovely 4000 plant workers moved in, and my best friend decided to rent the upstairs loft! 12 hr shifts. 7 days a week! These are 500,000 $ plus houses on the withlacoochie river in florida! The first 4 workers were golden tenants! The 2 now? 3.45 am it begins...the stomping, the constant movement to nowhere, the insane dropping of shit EVERY morning at 4 am and the pure obnoxious attitude that simply because THEY pay rent , anything goes! Hopefully at least one of these pathetic ass clowns will read this, OR any other out of town plant worker currently renting in crystal river(yankeetown) florida! Some of you are great, some tolerable , BUT there is a percentage of you that are pushing the local envelope! My current situation is about to come to a head! Others are as well! Hopefully EVERYBODY who has a rude, obnoxious neighbor soon becomes victorious ! Godspeed all! Hopefully we all have bail money set aside...cheers
Wow. I am sorry for you. My noisy neighbours actually moved last month (and no new ones yet - just lots of workers doing non stop renovations but at least they're gone at night). Hopefully they will get better jobs elsewhere and move like mine did. Good luck. . . . .
Dealing with the exact same stuff right now. Seems like it's been escalating since my work desk is now vibrating. Saw you mention in comments that they moved out - did you file any sort of complaints/do anything or just kind of wait it out?
My place sucked with my upstairs neighbors when they changed to hardwood throughout and had virtually nothing in their unit besides a TV a chair and a bed. I ended up having to sell the place and had to include neighbor noise in the disclosures
In the UK its practically impossible to avoid that. The houses are too old and almost everyone goes through this hell. One of the reason you see people nowadays stressed. The government as always is to blame.
Long story short: - THEY eventually moved! Three years later (last month) we moved upstairs. Now we will be the noisy upstairs neighbours (but we know how shitty the floors are so we put down carpets and foamy-hall-walky-things. They seem to help so far).
@@spocksmusic ah cool...i have same prob with the floors in my place too...luckily im upstairs and guy below me is deaf....tho the ones next door and noisy as hellll....can never win eh.
omfg that's horrible i totally feel you, i'm living a very badly isolated building aswell constantly having trouble focusing on anything as long as im at home. I hope you can move and have your privacy soon :(
Yep that’s the bullshit I deal with every day .. but my rude neighbors live downstairs and they slam doors and the kids run around and get loud.. and sometimes one of them blasts their damn rap music to the max I can feel it and hear what it’s saying... I just want to loose my temper and tell them to kindly shut the hell up.. the lady is rude though..
Invest in some Bose noise canceling headphone. Those things make my life worth living with the upstairs neighbors and their annoying little purse dog. Ugh.
I sleep with ear muff (and ear plug). definitely hard to sleep in, my neck sometimes feel hurt when I wake up as well. BUT ---------------- able to get some (good) sleep worth everything. And yes we shouldn't have to use headphones, but its just the reality noise situation is very difficult to complete fix
This is the horror with apartments having thin walls Srsly if this would occur on a daily basis I would document everything and send it to the rental company and the police social worker landlord whatever Or I would move out as soon as possible if u can afford There's not much more awful if u can't have peace in your home
Yup. We actually live upstairs now (the noisy neighbours moved a couple of years ago). I try to avoid the parts of the floor that are shot at night. The whole floor has to be redone someday.
I live in a single room servant quarter extension ,I need to move out,too many people living next door in the two storey estate house,If its not the three annoying kids running about, its the 2 house helps constantly washings stuff loudly, like banging buckets and gossiping bout the family ,they have too many stuff, they even packing stuff that they dont use or need outside my door, whats worse is I work at home and focusing on something is damn near impossible with the shout calling, crying, washing and banging.when I walk out, unfortunately their kitchen door or back door is like 3 meters away ,conveniently opened all the time so I can hear every dish ,every spoon tossed into the drawers ,every tantrum, wife complaining about her husband on the phone, even neighbours in the next storey building dont stay much, coz of the super loud washing machine that sounds like a jet engine, its miserable and disruptive,I need to move out,I cant think.I saw the pianos here and related,I make music and edit videos, but have to use headphones so im not disturbed.
I just don't know if some crazy magic spell comes over people who live amongst others that just drives them to make sure they drive us other tenants to drink, or worse! SMH unfortunately inconsideration for others is a worldwide thing...this is probably the fifth or sixth consecutive video in a row that has noisy ass neighbors like these.....at least all MY neighbor does is GRIPE through the walls seven days a week...he NEVER speaks quietly. EVER
same i have upstair neighbours they dont make noise like this sometimes my upstairs they have 2 kids on is like 20 yrs old another is like 10 to 11 yrs idk i hear this noise somtimes when they have birthday party or maybe some dance or singing it happens in the evening and night 11 pm i hear stomping noise and even rigght now kind off im using noise cancelation headphoones so i wont hear the noise
Bloody disgusting. I blame the parents. They have no care at all for anyone apart from them selves really do feel for you.big time. No one should have to put up with that.
Yes they could and should obviously be a lot quieter but it sounds like a converted house with no additional soundproofing. You shouldn't be expected to live there and I would say it is unfit for tenenncy. Have you shown this to your landlord?
They must be legally required to move out of the noise continues. They should move into a house or train their children or take them to a park to play. This is not what homes are for. If you want to play out music, sing and dance that is what a bar or night club is for too. Is this owned or rental property. There should be enforcement. I heard that in Japan it is well understood that such activities must be taken to a public facility for noisy activities. I do have some speakers at home and try to limit the volume, but mostly use headphones. If I had to I would use only headphones if it gave me a good place at a good price. Also, at the very least, there must be quiet hours between 9PM and 9AM.
I got my noisy neighbours to move out by writing them a note letting them know that I can hear "everything, and I mean EVERYTHING" and they moved out. My building has plywood floors/ceilings, with nothing in between. This acts like a boombox. Everything is multiplied by a 100. Walking sounds like thunder, even more so when they are heavy footed like my new neighbour is now. What makes it unbearable is the linoleum that is now. All the carpeting is gone, replaced with Linoleum . this should be outlawed in buildings that are over 50 yrs old.
Yikes! That's awful. Ya, quick and crappy construction. Most houses are made for a single family, but aren't used that way. Fortunately for us, the noisy neighbours moved a few years ago and everything has been much better since. No kids jumping up and down all day.
I thought I had it bad. I just moved into my apartment and my upstairs neighbors are always arguing and their child is running nonstop, sometimes until 1am. I hope your neighbors actually move out. Also, is there a possibility that you can move on top of them and they can move under you? (I’m new to this whole apartment thing, so idk if it’s a dumb question lol)
The rent upstairs is quite a bit more and we couldn't afford it - and the basement would be too small for them (it's too small for us and there's just two of us and a cat).
Michel Plourde Oh, okay. I didn’t know upstairs could be more expensive. I learned that if I ever have enough money, I’ll try to find an apartment that isn’t below someone with children. I can’t stand hearing them all day and I know you guys can’t either. Hopefully they do move out.
Yes, I am (well, half). My father is French Canadian going back many generations and my mom was American - which makes me somewhat of a mutt. And yes, the situation did get better. They moved a few months ago and the new people are very quiet.
i live in the 9th floor my upstairs are 10th floor and my upstairs are saying they are not doing they are saying 11th floor is doing our apartment has 11 floors and we dont have proof but now its kinda quiet sometimes i hear chair noises dragging and pulling and some marble or dice so we are having zoom call with the 10th floor and 11th floor i hope this wont continue for u and for me i guess idk
I have big problems with my upstaires neighbours too... music too loud, they speak and lough too loud at nights, banging, etc. I have called the police three times, made even a written letter to the police, nothing happens...
I have an upstairs neighbor claiming to be in her 40s but acts like she's 4. Drags furniture, vacuums a hardwood floor, walks like she has no toes, just an ignorant alcoholic cword. I play my bose sound bar with a 10 hour fan app with bass to rumble the same sound level as her walking. It works well.
