Hello, wondering if you have ever considered making a tent onboard your frt canoe, perhaps up in the bow area? If so how would you go about making the tent? Steve (68yrs) Manitoba. I'm from Kipawaw, Quebec. Had a 21' freight canoe when I was in my teens on Lake Kipawa. Cheers!

really like your freighter. have you ever did a video of your kicker motor install and what does your keel addition look like and how does it work ? you have done a lot of extras to your freighter looks good and is all rigged out to go fishing May the big ones fight to get into your net.

Any concerns with trailering with a 90 on the back? I have an 18 ft freighter and have always taken the 9.9 johnson off when trailering to keep stress off the transom but maybe it wouldn't be a problem.

Not at all, this is a Nor-West 22 footer freighter canoe, it is a solid one. If you look closely at 8:10, you will see that my transom is well-supported with the bunks and I have two blocks of woods between the bunks and the frame of the trailer. I am also using a transom saver while trailering. That 90 hp is 350 lbs and no signs of stress after 6 years. If your transom is well-supported, there will be no problem. How do you adjust the kicker throttle? Also, can you tilt the 90 out of the water and still control the kicker motor in shallow water? Your setup is great!

Hi,the kicker throttle is ajusted by hand . Would be hard to tilt and control the kicker but doable. The best way is both motor down. Thanks for your comment buddy,if you need more info just ask. regards.

Salut, on aimerait s’acheter un nor west. Un 22 pied. Sur leur site on ne peux pas plus que 40 -50 forces de moteur. Je vois que tu as un 90 forces. Est-ce un 4 ou 2 temps? Et ce n’est pas un problème de mettre un plus gros moteur que ce que nor west conseille? Merci

Bonjour, effectivement le fabricant recommande 50 HP max. La majorité des autochtones et inuits utilise des 60 HP. J'ai modifié mon "transom" tableau arrière avec des renforts pour ne pas avoir de problème avec le poids et la force du moteur. Le moteur est de 350 livres et est un 4 temps. Salut, j'aimerais savoir comment ce bateau est au niveau de la "fishability". Pour la qualité de la raid, je sais que rien bas ça, passe dans 4pouce d'eau et a presque pas de tirant d'eau. Ce que je sais pas c'est au niveau du tanguage dans les vagues, comment ça ce comporte, aussi comme ce n'est pas un plancher plat(enfin, je crois) est ce difficile de se déplacer à bord lorsque l'on est 3, ou c'est comme une chaloupe normal (style Princecraft Starfish avec les ė bancs de vinyle. Salut Je me sers exclusivement de ce bateau pour la pêche et je l'adore. Le tangage n'est pas pire que la majorité des embarcations. Le plancher est presque plat, mais il y a 3 renforts qui dépassent du plancher, on s'habitue. Aucun problème pour 3 personnes à bord. Dans la grosse vague, ce n'est pas aussi efficace qu'un gros bateau d'aluminium avec une coque en "V". Regarde sur ma chaine, j'ai beaucoup de vidéo avec mon canot. Si tu as d'autres questions, ne te gêne pas. Salut cher voisin. I use this boat exclusively for fishing and love it. The pitching is no worse than most boats. The floor is almost flat, but there are 3 reinforcements protruding from the floor, you get used to it. No problem for 3 people on board. In big waves, it's not as efficient as a big aluminum boat with a "V" hull. Look on my channel, I have a lot of videos with my canoe. If you have any other questions, don't be shy. if your 90 hp motor has a 20 inch shaft how long is the shaft on the kicker ?

Kicker is long shaft so 20 inch.
