I also race on road rc cars. When we put the cars on the setup stations we also put the batteries in the car. Weight from batteries will affect settings

Hey Chad great video... just have one thing to say there is not one real drag car that has rear tow.. I don't know who told you that you have to run rear toe but if you think about it the tires are trying to run into each other but they can't so so they are scrubbing which promotes slip... and as you can see month-by-month things are leading towards real DR.. also I don't understand why you wouldn't run zero camber in the rear that's where all the action is and you want the maximum contact patch

Good morning brother. I’m sure you’re right. I know 3 was too much. 2 looks better. Just seems the way these ae kits are always setup. The fivestar sheet says 2 but when I put my riser in this week or next I’m going to 0. It will be good to see some cars close up this week at a race so I can get a closer look at more and their heights and setups. I feel I am still loosing speed somewhere and that might be it.

@@Dorkyand40 not trying to overstep or say anything I just have drag raced for 30 years and you cannot break the rear axles to put rear Tow in we use rear steer and preload that is it you'll find it I know how frustrating it can be.. make sure you check that your shocks are equal length sometimes that will give you a messed up Corner weights in the front and will kick that front corner weight to the rear and the car won't repeat when you put it through the suspension cycle

Yeah I adjusted for ride height instead after this and seems to be just as good. The scales could be a little BS.

@@Dorkyand40 maybe but I live and die by those exact same scales.... I noticed that the tires weren't in the center of the scales especially the drivers front , was on the very edge those little things will add up . We call that "stacking tolerances" ..when you're talkin ounces for grams you're trying to find. For an example on a pro stock.... a 5-pound Puck on the front can make the difference from Tire shake or spin

Chad. Do you use a generator for your battery charger on the track or do you hook it up to your battery in your vehicle… And can you make a video about applying the get stuck sauce on the tires

Sure can make that video. As far as power i use bigger batteries on my fpv charger for top offs and bands and if it’s a long session I use inverter. Now at races I bum generator power :)

I clean tire with break cleaner and then heat for 5-10 mins. Then apply prep and let dry for 5 mins. Then either do a second coat and let dry again then race or just go race after first coat dries after 5 mins!

Always have to recommended the sanwa. No radio or esc com o gives you the ability to control power this way. It’s becoming more Important even then last year since these cars are just on a rail.

Do you like to have heavier shocks springs in the front or back ? My thought on this is heavy in front and light in the back to help weight transfer and squat.

You don't want to run squat squat is literally pulling the tire off the ground you want to run neutral or separation

@@RichieCat4223 that's what I have to do because I'm Traxxas based.. but Associated trl have what they call pills in the hinge pin where you can change the angle , you want the pin down in the front or at least level with the ground. level is neutral down in the front is separation up in the front is squat , if you have the ability to change pin angle then you would run the spring heaviest enough to support the weight and let the suspension do its work in conjunction with shock oil

@@powermadracing5116 I am using an Associated B6.2 chassis. I have it set for 1* toe in and I think giving me less anti squat. Using a #1 pill the C mount is middle out and the D mount is middle inside by the Associated chart.

What ride height do you like ? For me at 3/4 inch my dog bone are angled down but not like if the ride height was 1/2 inch.

It’s a fuzzy area. I lift the car and want my axles just horizontal or slightly past. At full squat they are angled some but I plan to add a riser to eliminate that so things can spin a bit more freely. I’d say overall my rear under load is about 17ish mm and the front is around 19. It basically looks flat.

@@Dorkyand40 I agree, having the half shafts 90* gives the most torque to the rear wheels. But to get close to that mine would have to have 1 inch of ride height. What is this "riser" you mention ?

Many chassis make riser plates that go between the chassis plate and the transmission so it gets it up. I’m adding a 9mm riser plate. Fivestar makes a lot of options for the breakout.

You with that rear toe again. Just stop looking at off road buggy setups. We don't turn . You want the straightest rear toe you can get without losing stability , that includes camber.
