Cool setup. I bought Occidental leather bags in the late 80s , framer, then finish carpenter. I still have them and they are still in pretty good shape

I like how you did it before going to work otherwise, this review would have been like. Normally I keep my *blank* here but it broke, I keep my other *blank* here but someone stole it, and I can't even remember where I put my other thing. 🤣😂🤣😂

I See I have a couple trolls in the comments so I appreciate your opinions about what I do for a living yes I am a framer but in the video I am doing some finish work doing some trim hence why I have a stud finder heard someone say some about my stud finder which is very good one by the way so that being said thank you all for the comments yeah and keep them coming

Thinking bout buying these. I'm over my Atlas 46 bags.
@thecarpenter9408
@thecarpenter9408 4 года назад
I highly recommend going Occidental but take your time make sure you get the ones that you’re certain fit the best because they will be the last pair bags you will buy in your carpentry career but once you get the ones that fit it’s like I don’t know what that movie called with the kid pulls the sword out of the rock you know the chosen one or whatever that’s what it’s like man they chose you so hope this video helps you out I’ll have more coming up here in the future
@thecarpenter9408
@thecarpenter9408 4 года назад
I do suggest accidental but for me I suggested the adjuster fit depending on your height weight and size adjust if they were going to be your best in Occidental but please try on if you can try on all of them go through all of them find a fit for you but I truly highly recommend adjust fit because there they just do the best don’t stray from Occidental because they’re the best but Occidental will have what you need please please keep watching the channel and I’ll have more information about that
@thecarpenter9408
@thecarpenter9408 3 года назад
Well i’m glad I could influence you to change because let me tell you man Occidental is the reason they’re number one and there’s a reason why so many great carpenters have them as a set of bags because they’re just the best and if I could switch as many people over to Occidental as I can tell I will yeah I’m sure at least 46 are good bags but man you’re making the right choice Arthur and getting rid of those 46 Atlas and getting to you some get a male I recommend a fat lip or the adjuster physically I have the adjuster fit which is fucking awesome so anyways man thanks for commenting on the air on the video and it’s good to have your feedback bro be safe

What’s the clip on pouch you put your end knippers in on your left side?
@DVSVentures

Nice setup man! Very similar to mine. One thing that I do different that you might find helpful is I keep my tape measure accessible to both hands and I keep my Combo square on my left side because I find myself using it more with my left hand once it’s set up. try it out let me know what you think
@thecarpenter9408
@thecarpenter9408 3 года назад
I will DVS thank you for the info anything to make the job easier well not Losing productivity I’m all for ... thanks Man I’ll give that a try By myself sometimes doing the same thing that’s why I wish I was a little bit more diverse when it comes to setting up your bags other than that yeah the best
@thecarpenter9408
@thecarpenter9408 3 года назад
Ok I’ve given that a try now for about two months and To be honest you were right in a way but on the other hand the bags are set up for the other way so either way man you could could you couldn’t go wrong on both ways thanks for the tip in the comment

Clearly detailed review. Thanks. This setup looks perfect for me, but one important question: how do you carry a cordless drill on the right side with this rig? In my workflow, the cordless is maybe most important tool to have at the ready all day long.
@thecarpenter9408
@thecarpenter9408 3 года назад
Well I think I got an answer for your question and that is Dewalt makes almost a gun holster looking carrying case that fits right on your rig I got one myself and it works really good it’s kind of hard and tricky if you have a long extension been on there to get in and out but other than that it works great again it’s a Dewalt it looks almost like a gun holster if I can send you a picture I would and I might do that but yeah you can get them at Lowe’s or Home Depot in thanks for a writing maybe I’ll do a video about it and thanks again
@michael.schuler
@michael.schuler 3 года назад
@@thecarpenter9408 Hey, thanks for getting back to me! I also have used the Dewalt holster you mention. But I've recently ended up changing my long-standing habit and started hanging my gun from a metal clip offered on the right side of my new rig (using the little clip that comes on the cordless.) It took me a moment to get used to it, but I've found that this method actually eliminates the very problem you mention, since you don't have to pull the entire length of drill plus long bit/extension all the way up and out, the way you do with a holster. BTW, after a lot of research, I ended up going with a custom tool belt from Akribis Leather. A once in a lifetime investment for me, but well worth it IMO. Many very practical and unique options available with quality on a par or maybe even better than Occi. But your rig in the video looks really well configured too.
@thecarpenter9408
@thecarpenter9408 3 года назад
Michael Schuler Well I have to say great choice on the bags the rig set up it’s a very important part of being in the trades is your rig set up because you’re going to be with a day in and day out the solution about hanging your drill I do the same thing on my hammer loop because I didn’t have a hammer loop in the front and in the back so it doesn’t need the back for my drill with the extension on it eliminates the problem have a getting stuck so sounds like you got like you’re on track and sounds like a you know what you’re doing and thank you for tuning in to my channel and responding to my videos and the content in the hope to hear from you in the future continue watching in theJoy the bags are very nice great choice well done

slide the bags off and get a new belt that fits. might not be able to get padding but maybe a thicker belt.

@@happy_hand_grenade7294 That's part of why I want that setup. I want the padded belt with option for suspenders and the ability to adjust over a T shirt or if its colder, sweater, jacket or vest.
