*Wheels don't suit a Fairmont Ghia.💯% They are too Jap style for a Falcon. Needs some wheels off a BF or FG. They don't match the style of the car at all.*
I miss my from new 2002 BA MK 1 Fairmont Ghia V8, in Pearlescent Blue with Grey leather. Had the Herrods stainless steel exhaust, sold in 2005 unfortunately with 25,000 k’s on it. Was a good daily. Now, got a 2008 FG G6E NA since new with 101,000 k’s in Kashmir. Would consider a Na+T conversion when finances allow. Also a decent daily for what it is. This BF MK2 is sick! 👍
I love my BF2 ,Fairmont Ghia seduce colour. Std 6cyl. Black interior an done 260,000km since 2007. Wouldn't have it any other way😁 I was super happy when u bought the white BF2 Fairmont Ghia
I swear, you have the exact same taste in cars that I do... only difference being you aren't a broke af bogan so you actually own the cars I dream about lmfao. The Aussie car scene would be a lot less awesome without you Ross. Thanks for that, no joke.
@@RossReviewsau I appreciate the videos as I watch and learn about the Australian motor car industry. I enjoy seeing The Holdens and Ford Fairlanes/LTD and Fairmonts.
I definitely prefer the stock look on these things. The stock wheels and front end is just perfect. Each to their own tho. I’m a commodore guy but these things look beautiful stock 👌
I own a v8 5.4L ghia surprisingly has more torque than a boss (500 to 620) im glad ive gotten myself onto ghias, despite the fact they have open diffs, kids dont realize you put 3 hrs in for a lsd swap and you have a rolls royce falcon lol 😉 mines sounds hectic too, xforce catback with no cats, pops n bangs without a tune, mean rumble etc
love how these cars look with mild mods. and how much more fun they become with a turbo haha and they dont even have to make a crazy 20+ psi to be fun. 5-10psi is so much fun in these
@@RossReviewsau right after i watched your video i came across that same car on marketplace looking to change the rims very strange coincidence like when i bought a zb fairlane the week after i watched your zb fairlane video
I had a BA Fairmont (not a Ghia or Turbo) it was a beautiful car to drive, just so good I was impressed every time I drove it. The problem was it was designed in a hurry because of the unpopular AU. I think a lot of the design ideas were inspired by Audi. It looked like a larger version of the then A4. Even the side tail-light arrangement was exactly the same. The brake rotors tended to warp after a while and that caused steering wobble. My power steering pump also failed. I found the car tended to float along on curves a bit too much for my liking. After the transmission was serviced it later played up. It was the 4 speed unit. At that point I traded it in for a used G6E (ex-Avis car) which I still have and will keep. The handling is so much better (with a firmer ride) and it has the ZF 6 Speed, I will be leaving alone.
@@JunkyardDogffa That's great, leave the transmission alone unless it plays up. I found the FG handled so much better (with a firmer ride) I was amazed. With the Fairmont I was very careful on windy roads. Ford achieved this by taking the front suspension of the Territory and putting it on the FG Falcon. It saved 30kG in weight. The ZF 6 speed is quite good (you can catch it out at times) and I get much better fuel economy. The BA was incredibly thirsty but rode like an expensive euro sedan.
@@arunta5 the fairmont handles well for a standard car. The fg suspension revision definitely improved overall handling, particularly on turn in. This isnt my first ba or falcon by a long way so believe me, I know them well.
@@arunta5 I don't think its incredibly thirsty necessarily. I get 13l/100km/h and have a very heavy right foot. My 93 sxr6 used to chew through way more fuel than that. The Barra is worth spending a few bucks more on fuel anyway
@@bksniperguy That's why we have Ears, because as soon as you hear it, you know it's nothing like any 'normal Falcon' Johnny is right. They should have made a BF Fairmont Ghia with the option of getting a 'Turbo Barra' and ZF 6 speed Auto Trans from Factory. Would have made a great cruiser, but has the power and torque on tap, when you need it.💯%
Ford need to bring back the falcon. Make them in the US for all I care, there is no better car for oz roads and highways. There is some talk of a 4-door mustang in the US! just call it a falcon and ship it to us
*These wheels are 💩. I look at them and want to 🤢🤮🤮. The 'Jap' look doesn't suit a BF Fairmont Ghia at all. I'd rather the standard BF Mk11 Fairmont Ghia wheels every day of the year.💯%*
Hey John, as a long time subscriber and fan of your vids, I have to say, he's killed this car. Not focusing on the NA+T conversion, but the overall condition. I can remember the vids watching when you have purchased this car and highlights in this vid, it was immac; seats nice, steering wheel clean ..etc . Sorry mate. Just saying. Good luck to the new owner. No offense. Cheers
@@vincekara9446 The vehicle was bought in this condition and I’ve recently done the turbo conversion, it’s along way from done. The interior condition you see is from the owner after Ross, I hate seeing it in this condition so I do agree with you but as I said it’s a long way from being finished as the previous owner ruined the interior. It will be stripped and drivers seat restored along with anything else I appreciate the feedback, I have only had the ghia around 5 months.
@FairGhia I understand. As an ex BF2 Ghia owner (got wiped off in April) i hope you restore her to her glory. They are a beautiful car and hopefully see it on this channel when you're finished. I just love the factory look, but that's just me. Good luck in your efforts. Cheers
*At **0:27**. That's a nice non existent clamp on the silicone joiner. This thing just doesn't sound right. Done on the cheap. Has the Exhaust Note of an NA Barra with a little flutter. No way that's making 3OOrwkw, it barely breaks traction in the wet. Rough as guts.💯%*
wow what a hater. It’s a na+t of course it’s going to sound like one. I’m pretty sure it’s also got an external wastegate. dont get why people hate so much on other peoples builds. Give them some good feedback on what to improve?? you don’t sound very fun to be around
Not a fan of those stupid oversize wheels, look at me stickers on rear glass. Lack of attention to detail on that loose intake hose which has a pipe shoved in it, dirty leather… 100% owned by a flat cap vaper
@@haydnpaull5447 He can't have an opinion ? I can't have an opinion? Hahahaha. It's the RU-vid Comments section dude. You expect everyone to agree with each other and sing Kumbaya around the campfire? Wake up to yourself.💯%
@victorpeirce4753 putting words in my mouth, much? Constructing a sentence without coming across as a flog is just too difficult for some blokes. Excusing nastiness by saying "iTs YoUtUbE" doesn't change the fact someone's still nasty.
