Be careful.....Medicare in the PH is only good for emergency admissions. Then...you are required to pay your bill and later submit those bills to Medicare for reimbursement. Be sure to read the provisions of your policy very carefully!
I recommend you to get a car as it is much safer than motorcycles. There are plenty of Toyota sedans around for sale. Prices are relative high though, but then they are not so high mileages. A car is good when travelling around can load more stuff you will need to take with you. And in the rainy season you don't get wet! True the motorcycles with sidecars and tricycles are a pain in the b...! They think they own the road and don't like to move and let you pass they will ignore you, but I found a remedy for that I bought a new set of horn that is quite loud and on my trips I have to use it several times to notify them!
To all that have heart problems and issues, go Vegetarian and you will live into the 80s,and have no problems, avoid fried foods in the Philippines , especially Pork and BBQ and fried chicken & adobo, I know that might be asking a lot of one who has been a meat eater for most of their life, but taking care of a loved one who has half the body paralyzed due to strokes is a burden to the relatives.
India is a country filled with vegetarians yet the country has a fairly significant percentage of the population with heart disease. I don't believe merely being vegetarian is going to solve heart issues. it's also a hereditary problem. There are people who eat right and excercise daily yet develop heart disease. We as people like to think we always are in comtrol. We can control the outcome if we do this or that. But the reality is at times there's only so much we can control. We can do everything right and still end up with heart issues. This is not to say that we should just forget about eating right and exercising. I'm just providing a disclaimer to a few points you made.
@@ariefraiser140 I'm vegetarian never have health issues , so we're an aunt and uncle who raised me whomlived to their 86 and 100 Bdays , my other relatives who eat pork had heart attacks in their 60s and 70s, my grandfather had half his body paralyzed became a burden , needed assistance till he died.
@@ariefraiser140 I had a friend/ co- worker who was eating a Pizza everyday, I visited him one day (the empty Pizza boxes were floor to ceiling in his apartment), and 2 liters of Pop and other fast foods he died before 35., he was morbidly obese@ 300 Lbs.
@@aurelio-reymilaorcabal9669 Well your family isn't a very large sample size or as diverse a genetic pool as the whole of India is it? My point still stands. India is a nation full of people who are vegetarian yet they still have amongst the highest rate of heart disease in the world. And speaking of families my best friend comes from a long list of athletes. Some of the most physically fit people I've ever seen. As many meals as I've had with them I know they eat healthy. Well his Uncle suffered a heart attack at age 56 on a tread mill, his dad passed of a stroke around age 59, people say his great grandfather likely died of a heart attack at age 60 something but he died in his sleep. And my buddy has always tried to live as healthy as possible because he knows his family history but even he acknowledge there's only so much he can do. So are we to surmise from one family that eating healthy and excercise is useless for heart disease? No. It's a small sample size of genetically related individuals. We can't use that to come to conclusions on the general population as a whole. Yes diet and excersise likely helps. But being a vegetarian isn't the huge cure. There are lots of people who eat red meat, fish, pork etc and like healthy lives well into their 80s.
@@ariefraiser140 enjoy your steak , hamburger , bacon , KFC, and fatty foods then, i'll have my Soy milk , tofu, almond milk, nuts and fresh fruits like oranges, papayas and fresh 🥥 coconuts , guyabanos and 🍇 grapes and greens like spinach, lettuce and bokchoy.
Don't bother doing this. With shipping cost of around $3,000 and $$$$$$$ for import tax, you are better off selling your car in your country of origin and buy a brand new car in the Philippines. Brand new cars in the Philippines comes with free registration (comes with the listed price of the car), window tint, 2 year car insurance and some other car accessories. Depending on the exchange rate you might come out ahead with you selling your car first and buying a brand new car in the Philippines especially brand new Japanese and Korean cars.
No taxis in dumaguete?? Are there people with with automobiles that you can hire? I am buying a car as soon as I get my acr card.. I was thinking of visiting dumaguete for a few weeks and leaving my car at home but I guess I will be bringing my car.. I will also be looking at houses in the mountains of Valencia and Subulan.. I guess I could rent a motorcycle in dumaguete if I need one and just leave my car at my rental place in dumaguete unless it is raining.. I will not ride a motorcycle in the rain or at night.. i call that my self insurance plan..hehe.. I will not drive a car at night but I will in the daytime during the rain.. both of you seem to be doing really well with your heart conditions and I am so happy that you all look healthy.. just remember you are what you eat😮😊😊😊
Pls.research about Keto/lntermittent/LowCarb/OneMeal a Day diet/fasting.. hope it can help you. Many or people with diabetes nowadays who change their diet to low carbs. swear that their blood sugar become normal within 3 mos.or less and they don't take their meds in their blood sugar anymore. Good luck
I was long term disability and received SSID at the same time. My LTD settlement was $2400 but it dropped to $500 after I started receiving SSID. Also the LTD company constantly harassed me, they would have me followed and how I found out is my neighbor is a Cop. He noticed a car that hadn't moved for a while and confronted the guy who told him he was a Private Investigator. Be careful how much you show on youtube because that can be used against you.
Hi Mark good interview I also have had open heart surgery triple it is necessary for me to take medication everyday just to keep things stable what I would like to ask you is it easy to obtain the good quality medication from the pharmacies in the Philippines I heard there is a lot of not fake but substandard medication is that true if you are also on medication average what does it cost you a month
with your sitiation.just enjoy life in the philippines. no need to do business. business will make you stress. just enjoy life here.life here is cheaper.
Best to live somewhat close to Manila or Cebu City. Meds in the PH are much more expensive than the USA and harder to find. Good medical care in the PH is hit and miss unless you are reasonably close to Manila and Cebu City....but there are hospitals with really good medicine!!
@@pattystephens5977 I think we are on the same page. The best hospitals and doctors are, generally speaking, in Manila and Cebu City. There are some outside these areas of course.
None of us are going to live forever - (?) - but he is young enough to get some insurance before his 70's when nobody gets affordable coverage ! --- Seems like at that point in the Philippines - they seem to think we can just die and aren't worth saving ? If your not rich and are unable to pay cash - you just die.
I believe the person on the left is Mark who's the owner of the channel. He is always in trouble. He always pulls in crap. Always making mistakes. I've never seen him laugh or even smile. He is down tone. He is either losing things or is dropping things or things are breaking or he is sick or his car gets hit or he'll lose a business... He never has a happy moment. Nothing ever works right for him. I know exactly what's happening to him and why it's happening. But not everyone believes help is available. If you listen to some of his stories, I guarantee you you're not going to feel the same way you did when you started listening . What he has to say can knock anybody right down into depression. When others are around a person like this they feel off balance, awkward and even spinny. They also can feel sick and suddenly start making mistakes.
I am looking to go to the Philippines to retire and I have CAD I had one stent put in, in oct 2023. I still have 6 blockages chest pains all the time, high blood pressure and a laundry list of other ailments, getting old sucks. When I had my stent put in the doctor told me I'll see you in a few years for bypass surgery. If I can ever make it there I will have to be staying in larger population areas with hospitals that have cardiac services.
My husband if 20 yrs died at home 5 nights ago. He had chronic heart failure level 4. He should have been in Hospice 4 months ago. He only had ‘less than 20% of heart function. 11 stents
Always interesting conversations, thanks! It would be interesting to know Curt's diet. It's not too late to change to something cleaner. I come from a family of heart disease but I noticed what they all ate and made some important changes.
One of my worst worries. My dad died of a heart attack at 69. So trying to circumvent genetics. After quarantine, I hope to get back into my running routine. In the PI
Can you please provide the specific website you used for the boxes that where shipped to PH. I need to ship to Camarín Sur, Pasacao. So it would be great for me to save some shipping cost . thank You 🙏
With the heart problems your guest and yourself have, you're at heightened risk in the Philippines! You won't necessarily get the speed and quality of care, that you get in a developed country 🤷
You're right. But we will all die sometime. My heart can't be fixed. In America I was just waiting to die. My new life in the Philippines has already made the move worth it
BC Medical pays up to the BC limit out of country but you can only live out of Canada maximum 6 months. It’s good for part time expats...I used the system twice and BC Med reimbursed me 100 percent....cheers🍷🇨🇦
That is so for all of Canada if I'm right, good to have if one has health issues, and most Canadians take advantage of that,6 months in Canada 6 months out of country.
Good info and always great to hear people following their dreams , despite disabilities or challenges ,I have one of those myself so need to be near potential medical treatment... Enjoy your interviews but my suggestion would be to keep them under 20 minutes in length. That's about how much time and attention span I have ! Thx
Mark your friend is applying for SSD, and I just got approved back in February because of COPD. Getting SSD is no quick process with covid going on, it was a 9 month process between endless paper work and seeing the SSD doctors for their own exams. In the end it was well worth it, I'm waiting for the Philippines to open but I'll need a pulmonologist and gastroenterologist over there so I need to do some research. I never smoked it was all from 2nd hand smoke from family. Be Well Mike Woods
Balikbayan box shipping in Bergenfield, New Jersey or Queens by global cargo movers is only 45 dollars if you drop it off yourself, the box cost 5 dollars
Maybe not, I could be wrong but the long term effects of high blood/ hypertension will harm the heart. The extra work will wear out the heart pump- could lead to disease heart failure. Be real careful with salt as I love Toyo, but do not over season. Eat garlic, manage weight. Last resort will be calling MD/NP who can start medicine like Beta Blockers etc.
My family stayed with one of my uncles in St George, Utah back in the '70s. He lived next to a mountain. Another uncle lived in Hurricane. They pro- nounce it HER i kin
Im not MD nor nutritionist but I know Heart Disease Echocardiogram Ejection Fraction tells us function. Anything < 50% starts to become medical cause for concern. I would agree long term diet that is more vegetarian would be the way to go. My late buddy had open heart surgery and tried to survive on Keto diet. On a happier note, North Palawan has the Coron wreck sites, which can be snorkelled. I recommend visitors to pack fins so swimmer can efficiently kick swim down to the wrecks. Great video Mark and hope Curt's all settled. Mabuhay from a- NJ rat racer:)
I was under the impression SSD benefits could not be received if the person was out of the country. Perhaps I am wrong. I saw on one of the 20 or 30 Philippine vlogs I subscribe to but can’t remember which one.
🤗Hello Mark and Curt, I was 60 year’s old when I had the heart valve replacement in 2020. The surgeon said that my valves was leaking badly, haemorrhage which caused me to pass out like no sufficient blood is going to my brain and other areas of my body. my brother was told at that time that doctors are not confident of a good outcome as I had lost much blood for internal bleeding. Thank GOD I regained consciousness in ICU after a few days. 🙏🏻🙏🏻. Thank you and take good care gentlemen.
@@pattystephens5977 Hi Patty, as an American, I can’t normally buy or own in the Philippines unless married, your correct, but certain housing developments are licensed to sell to foreigners through special provisions with a partnership with Philippines 🇵🇭 government.
Curt, I live LV too. Could you please assist me in providing me the shipping information/website? Thank You. Best of luck to your youngest son education in the Philippines.
Are you sure you want to go to PH after all those heart issues? I don't think their Health Care System will be up to standards god forbid something happens to you. No offense to PH
