Man you just inspired me to continue my journey bro, I took a break on school for a month and thought I wanted to be a truck driver, got my permit and everything but stuff just didn’t turn out in my favor, I only have 10 classes left and have to take my 3 written exams/OLPs and I’ll be done. I lost myself and forgot how important this journey was to me, thank you man.

Have mine coming up on the 20th. Excited and super stressed because I had to take a year and a half off. I took and finished the airframe and powerplant oral and practicals 2 days ago. I was super nervous about it and studied my ass off, but once I got in, I realized it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I was over the moon when I recieved my A&P.
@@Avation.Experience thanks man! And believe it or not, I did actually somewhat have fun during the practicals once I got the hang of it. Even though the school I went to left a sour taste in my mouth, I got my A&P anyways. On to bigger and better things now. 🫡

From my experience they say “ once you pass the orals your good” because the dme can help & guide you for your practicals just not orals so you should be fine
Thanks for this. I’ve got my general and airframe O&P scheduled in a couple months and I’m already nervous lol. Electricity and generators are a weak spot of mine, it I feel okay about the rest in general. I’m still going to have the instructors at school review with me before I go just to get a little more confidence. Congrats on passing!
Yeah that definitely helps. I did that the night before and it helped me remember some difficult questions. So good thinking! And electricity orals isn’t so bad compared to the actually prepware questions lol
Is it okay to only study the appendix's questions on oral and practical in the Jeppesen or study the entire book instead? I am studying for my tests and everything seems to stress me up.
If you studying for your orals you should be studying all the questions back there. Jeppeson is the book to go. It’s stressful studying the questions n remember but once you do they will stick n you’ll definitely start to feel better
Just started classes yesterday. Im very excited but also humble because this is a lifestyle not just a career. I struggle at taking tests so i will try my best to study and take notes
Nice man congrats and I would say read the assigned chapters for your classes it would help you understand and be better at understanding the test questions
This was some good info--I'm an Army vet who has been out for almost a decade, and it's been that long since I touched an aircraft. So I'm nervous about the practicals, but the orals most of all. I'm doing a prep course and the guy running it is really good, so I'm optimistic too even though there may be practical tasks I've never done. Appreciate the words on what to expect with the DME and congrats on passing! I'm strongly considering applying at AA too once I get my A&P.
Nice that your back at it after so long. & Orals will be fine I was the same way but nothing studying can’t help with & anytime I appreciate the feed back
People at my school recommended 1 month but I took 2 months and it really depends on the availability date your dme has which typically be 2 months out but I recommend 2months!
Yeah definitely is it’s trade school they gone accelerate everything. Just do your part n read! Your chapters n do the school work. You’ll be fine. Study up on your prepware as well
I appreciate you bro! I’m in the military and I want to take my exams because I have experience from the military in aviation. I know the test is hard I’m not sure if I wanna go to school for it when I get out or just study and take the test. Any suggestions?
the math part for a&p is hard ask man electrical theory is something else any pointers on someone who is the good with math its been 5 yrs since I last did math

No not really. You just watching videos on different practicals will only help or actually practicing some in school. I know kids in my school got with instructors and just joing in their class lesson when they were doing hands on stuff
Hi. I was just wondering did you used Jeppensen books to study for Orals? I looked through the Crane/ASA too but that was so much information. So im not sure if Jeppensen was similar to your actual Orals as well. I go to Houston AIM. Thank you
@@Avation.Experience i did asked him. All he said was “study the study guides” which AIM given us is the ASA/Crane book and its not helping lol. Too many in depth questions. Reddits n fellows like you told me Jeppensen is more similar to the actual exam.

Congrats you made it! As far as the oral they ask you 4 question per section and you have to answer atleast 3 correct if not they ask you another set which you have to get correct in order to pass that section with a 70%. My motto is if you studied your bound to be good a certain questions which will eventually come up if you can’t get the 3/4 correct the 1st time
I didn’t go to school and I’m unfortunately one of the lucky ones that work for a company that pays as an apprentice and I’ve been in this trade for 7 yrs. but all my experience is based on Rotor wings. I passed all my written test but take my O&P on the 28th. Any pointers on what to expect or prepare for on my Oral and practical? Thanks anyone
Best thing you can do is study them jeppeson oral questions & focus on your weak chapters once you study the books & your practicals it would help to know your ac 41.13.1b and your fars. If you get your practicals ahead of time get up on RU-vid refresh your memory
For that long I’ll be happy to slap you back to reality and say you need to be trying month to month lol but imagine if you have been trying within that 1st year month by month, where you you be within the 1st year ?

I have my Oral and practical for powerplant/general in 9 days and I’m beyond nervous. But I’ve studied like crazy and feel confident! I’ll keep y’all updated. If I don’t respond remind me to update y’all lol
Once I passed my FAA written first person I called was my mom to tell her I passed, second person was the DME to schedule my oral and practical 😂 study hard and trust your studying. I hope it all pays off 🙏
