Scott said he woke from a dream, got up a wrote down this dream he just had, said he had to get up and write it down, went back to sleep! Got up the next day and read on his desk what he had wrote down from the night before, went to practice the next day, Mark was working on this sound, Scott said he asked him to keep playing that sound and that is how My Own Prison came about! I don't care what anyone says, Creed rocks, I love their music!
Fuck yea!! Said he was sleeping on a mattress on the floor in his apartment if I’m not mistaken? Beat band I’ve ever heard! Stapps lyrics and Marks kick ass guitar playing is insane 🤟🏼🤟🏼
When I was younger, liking Creed wasn't the cool thing to do. I'm now old and could care less what people think, one of the perks being old. This live version is amazing, all of it.
In my opinion one of Creed's most mature tunes - it has more depth than the likes of My Sacrifice and With Arms Wide Open to me. The whole My Own Prison album is actually quite underrated; it has a lot of good tunes compared to their latter songs.
I just love Scott Stapp and Creed .Scott has such a amazing voice every song has a story .Scott Stapp and Creed was #1 band .I will always love them they my favorite aways 🤘💘
As far as lead guitar bass duos. Mark Tremonti and Brian Marshall are so underrated and Mark's backround vocals equal that of any rock band ever. He complimented Scott extremely well.
Court is in session, a verdict is in No appeal on the docket today just my own sin The walls cold and pale, the cage made of steel Screams fill the room, alone I drop and kneel Silence now the sound, my breath the only motion around Demons cluttering around, my face showing no emotion Shackled by my sentence, expecting no return Here there is no penance, my skin begins to burn So I held my head up high Hiding hate that burns inside Which only fuels their selfish pride (And I said, ohh) All held captive out from the sun A sun that shines on only some We the meek are all in one I hear a thunder in the distance, see a vision of a cross I feel the pain that was given on that sad day of loss A lion roars in the darkness, only he holds the key A light to free me from my burden and grant me life eternally Should have been dead on a Sunday morning, banging my head No time for mourning Ain't got no time Should have been dead on a Sunday morning, banging my head No time for mourning Ain't got no time So I held my head up high Hiding hate that burns inside Which only fuels their selfish pride (And I said, ohh) All held captive out from the sun A sun that shines on only some We the meek are all in one I cry out to God, seeking only His decision Gabriel stand and confirms, I've created my own prison I cry out to God, seeking only His decision Gabriel stand and confirms, I've created my own prison So I held my head up high Hiding hate that burns inside Which only fuels their selfish pride (And I said, ohh) All held captive out from the sun A sun that shines on only some We the meek are all in one (And I said, ohh) So I held my head up high Hiding hate that burns inside Which only fuels their selfish pride (And I said, ohh) All held captive out from the sun A sun that shines on only some We the meek are all in one Should have been dead on a Sunday morning, banging my head No time for mourning Ain't got no time
