Hey guys, it’s the drummer here. Appreciate the support! I’ll be trying to get a Yamaha EAD10 mic here in the next few weeks so if we do more covers, you can definitely be expecting better quality recordings eventually!
Dude, i got one of them there sick, but they take a while to get your own sound. You gotta really muffle your snare, so it sounds tight goodluck though dude 🤘
@@TheGingerDrummer06 Thanks for the advice! I tune my snare really tight but the phone audio doesn’t do my snare justice whatsoever. Nice to know that so I can keep the tight sound on the EAD
Ever since i read the meaning behind this song, it makes me giggle. Its about how Chino Moreno (lead vocalist) hated how bright the sun was when they would get out of the darkness of the recording studio, and how annoyed he would get from the heat while touring in the summer 😂 its literally a song about cursing at the literal sun 💀
The thing is, people aren't "into" rap, they are only "into" rap because the internet makes it seem like everybody likes rap. Which barely anyone besides city kids like rap.
@@lostkauz83 I bet! Those songs are amazing, Bored was a favorite of mine about a year ago. Change was my favorite when I first got into them, they have so many fantastic songs.
@@Tawper that they do my friend. Stephen Carpenter and Chino have been a staple in my life since “ Around the fur “ debuted. Hell the white pony album cover is on my leg. You guys sound great though man, makes me miss band life
Dude having White Pony tattooed on your leg is badass, that's probably my favorite album from them. Thank you for the kind words, hope to see you around here some
The phone mic doesn't do it justice due to how fucking loud that room was. We can say with certainty without hearing protection you would be permanently messed up on your hearing
Thanks for the like! Since you did like it, go check out the other cover of Drive we did! Here's the link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OfGsQOLz-8Y.html
this sounds sick, dont even need the other 2 parts to enjoy this.i know you got other requests, but would love to hear toxicity by system of a down, or knife prty or minerva
Dude, of course! Love those songs, we also did Minerva twice, I have one from a few months ago posted but we also did this one but I haven't made it public ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VM8UwjSCmO8.html
Y’all sound great!!! Definitely keep making music together, you can tell you’re both really in sync with each other and have enough creative energy to make something really cool in music.
Thank you! It's a boss ds-2 running into the Orange Crush 35RT and Crate GFX-120 combo amps, both cranked up on the volume so there is a lot of saturation
This vid floods me w nostalgia 😊 something about the bed in the shot makes me think of me and my friends jamming at the parents house awhile back. Keep it up yall!
@TahschaFinley7061 thank you so much! If you wanna see more of us, check out our band Black Sand Bay. We got a couple singles out and are about to release an album next month, that's our latest project so hopefully you'll enjoy it
I really like “drive” and “rickets” … Where do you guys live? I would totally buy a ticket. I live in Washington state right in the middle of the state… my boyfriend is a drummer he plays in a band… he really like tool.. I actually worked with a band members sister the first drummer… we sorted cherries together in a warehouse… b4 they were big.. kinda cool. Just saying I recognize quality when I see it.. you guys should never ever give up on your dream… you got it!!!❤️ sorry I’m a passionate person just trying to be encouraging..
It might have been the bassist? I don’t remember that well it was literally 1991…. But I remember she had a French name like Demornai… or something like that… I promise it’s real.. ❤️
Thank you so much! That's what we think, we honestly just did this for fun without rehearsing at all. We were just living in the moment, and I think we captured that energy pretty well.
I like the little effects the guitarist did during the part that's normally just bass and drums, made it sound not so awkward to have just drums and no bass, nice work guys, good job keeping time.
how long have you been playing guitar for? I'm a beginner and this is the first song I've learned start to finish on guitar (really liked the cover btw)
RAHHHHHHHHH you're so right! (Shameless self plug here) *ahem* zoo wee mama if you like the drums from my awesome drummer boy you should check out my band, black sand bay! We have 2 singles and he goes absolutely bonkers on the kit for them, I think you'd like them if you like deftones or anything alt-metal/shoegaze :)
We could try but no promises, we struggle getting together due to school and jobs. Plus we are trying to make a full band, but if stuff works out then I'd love to play that song!
Dude, you guys are awesome! I wanted to go to one of your concerts, but I live in Brazil, and you are from the U.S, right? I hope one day to see you playing metal live! Let's go Rockers! 🎧🥁🎸
@@Tawper Man, that would be really amazing! Your band is getting famous very quickly and that's really good! So soon I'll be able to say that I've been a fan of the band since the beginning!
0:25 i wanna know what he was gonna say also that guitar tone is monster props to you. my main tip if you wanna consider it is to use "quiet tone" cymbals (such as sabian, zildjan, etc) they are still loud enough to jam with an entire band but all they do is cut out those deafening high frequencies that end up drowning out the entire band. i actually feel like i can hear everyone better which has improved my musicianship. Also the live mix just sitting in the room is phenomenal. You can just use the regular drum heads you always use. this translates into better mix quality when recording as well. added bonus they also protect your hearing when just jamming in your space where loud ass cymbals aren't necessary like they would be in a crowded gig/venue. Noticing more people using the low volume cymbals these days (I didn't even know they existed) . Gave it a try and was really happy with it so hope you consider that! I dont work for them i swear haha just lettin ya know Great playing yall
We were both pretty much done with what we were saying lol, just talking about if I should use my fuzz pedal for dynamics but my pedal was broken and could have possibly ruined the video. So I stuck with distortion and joked saying "no dynamics" right before we kicked off into the cover. Thank you so much for the tip with the drum stuff! I'll show this to my drummer since he probably knows a little more than I do lol, thanks again though!
