My problem with s.h monsterarts: *THEY ARE LIKE 500 DOLLARS*

Imagine buying the 2021 and not the poster version 2019. Yeah my brother bought the poster version 2019 and I'm so jealous. Thankfully we live in the same house so I can mess with it. Edit: jeez this has a lot of likes. Thanks guys!

Since you've basically mentioned the possible decline quality of the S.H. MonsterArts figures for it's future (MechaGoji '21 and Goji Ultima), this also makes me kinda sorta worried for Final Wars Goji '04.

what sucks about my copy of Godzilla is that the box came in damaged and the whole box was covered in dents, folds, and Tares, and was basically destroyed. luckily the figure was undamaged and the clam shell was slightly dented but I still like the figure. Btw this all happened earlier today.

Spinozilla i actaully don't know why they didn make a hollow earth accesory because the awakening shin godzilla came with a downword beam i think they where just being lazy to be honest.

the 2021 for the downwards atomic breath can actually do it if sh monsterarts looked at the atomic breath correctly they couldnt have done the atomic fully for it to match the hollow earth facing downwards.

my g21 fingers leg fell off and It had to be glued and a tail broken it also had to be glued at the end of it and it has two of the same arms

My problem with it: THE ARM ALWAYS POPS OFF AND I CANNOT ATTACH THE ATOMIC BREATH

The tail base joint issue with ur 2019 is with my 2021, so I ordered a 2019 version and it was a bootleg 😭

This shows us that their quality control is either really incompetent or just flat out non-existent. SHMA's treatment towards customers is really leaving a lot to be desired, especially right now.

My deep condolences for your Kong..mine came with 2 Left side upper thigh swivels..already sent him back to my seller and wait for replacement parts.. But i was surprised that your seller send you the whole unit for the right foot replacement.. that's really a wow.. For my 2021 Godzilla..the tail is a lil' floppy near the mid section..but hasn't came off yet.. Meanwhile, my 2019 Godzilla is perfect from the head to tail..unless the goofy eyes..but not to terrible..the tail and the right shoulder is the tightest parts to pose..I often change my 2019 Godzilla head to the new one if I get bored 😁 Btw don't use hairdryer..i often use boiled water, dip the parts you want to take off for 5-10 secs..

You could get a new Kong, I mean T=the exclusive edition I have one myself and compared the two Kongs. The new one is more detailed and it is more compact and less wobbly. Overall the exclusive Kong is a better figure.

My only issue is when the figures are loose and you can’t move certain parts without them falling off the figure. I own the 2002 figure and his right arm comes off often, soon I’m getting finalgoji and gmk and after seeing some final reviews I’m very worried for mine

I never had buyer's remorse as bad as when I bought Ghidorah. What an honest-to-God disappointment in every sense of the word. Inaccurate to the on-screen appearance, colors were off, poseability was crap, joints constantly came out of their sockets. I did manage to sell it for $400 recently though. The funds came in handy to pay off a few bills, so I guess it was good for something!

Everytime I pose ghidorah I end up having my hands destroyed by the spikey tails, to get it right I usually spend 2 hours trying to pull out the right combination between overweighted wings, fragile tails and weird fork-like holders

I think you should try supergluing the kong back, and if his joints won’t move, maybe use it for a diorama?

3:02 They absolutely could’ve made a new effect part since the Awakening Version of Shin form 4 had a very similar breath part. Really sucks that we didn’t get it, especially since this figure is more expensive then the 2019 figure, but that came with a beam.

Loose points are always a problem with monsterarts imo I mean almost 90% of the articulation is just made up of ball joints which is good because you can get them in natural poses but with the con that the joints will get really loose over time

Yeah warming up joints on figures to loosen them is like Russian Roulette. It either works like a charm or it’s gonna suck. And unlike roulette, there are five sucky bullets in the chamber instead of one 😕

That's not even bad My 2001 came with a broken jaw 2002 came with its entire head falling apart with no way to stick them back together And my Rathalos came with a broken wing and wing blade The 2021 Goji came with one of the spread out hands missing Honestly I really think the quality dip from 2019 to now has gotten worse, there shouldn't be a dice roll on what is going to go bad on your figure for the price that you pay, and it doesn't help that the figures are only getting more expensive and coming with less accessories and I'm sick of having to contact bluefin for a replacement and wait about a month or 2 to get an extra figure. It's a miracle my Biollante came with no problems at least

I truly believe Bandai and Tamashii Nations should make the internal skeleton metal instead of plastic. It'll feel great, and the premium build will excuse the high price. My first breakage of an SHMA figure was 2002 Gojira. It was the figures left elbow joint. It was stuck tight and I tried to soften it with hot water and shift it around. Then it broke, when I tried to bend it for the elbow articulation. I bought another one, and thankfully it's a good one.

Yeah, the inconsistent quality control of the Monsterarts line, combined with those ludicrous prices and lack of rereleases for those who missed the original production runs, is a deal breaker for me. At least with NECA, any qc issue was mostly forgivable due to the fair prices. But now that legacy has been eliminated, we're left with the overpriced slag that Tamashi throws at its customers. I really hope another company takes NECA's place as another producer of posable Godzilla figures for much cheaper than SHMA.

Man I know it varies from person to person with the QC issues but God I love my 2019 figure. I was one of the lucky ones where I got one with both eyes looming straight, every joint being nice and solid, and it just looking absolutely perfect. I love my 2021 one as well. I'm one if those people.who actually likes thr blue for the mouth and eyes as well though think they may have gone a bit too much by making the teeth blue as well, but I don't mind. I just don't like how thr 2021s hesdsculpt is slightly different when the 2019s was borderline perfection.

I love how you use the figures for expressions, that's great! I also found some SH Monster Arts Godzilla figures (including Ghidorah) for around 60 bucks! That's amazing honestly, should be the average price honestly lol.

It's odd that your kong had tight joints because when I recieved mine, it had very smooth articulation and nothing popped out. I can understand the crappy paint, but I can't forgive bandai for QC issues that cause breakages in figures. I worry that it could become the japanese version of neca if they don't remedy the situation.

I never had any struggles with 2019s tail popping off at the base, I didn't even know it was an issue with anyones 2019 until I saw this video going based on reviews. The only issue I had with the tail was that the very end pops off when moved too much.

I’m gonna be honest: when I didn’t see Kong at the begin. I was thinking “Wait a minute, did the same fate of mine happen to yours.” To then find out it did (with the lower part of the body breaking.) but I kinda know a way to fix him. It’s not the 100% for the lower body. But it kinda works (I mainly use the broken kong for photos and learn more on to fix him better in the future.) but rip kong.

I actually just got the 2000 Godzilla, and he is awesome! I highly recommend getting him. I got the "special color" and just painted his fins purple. I'm not spending $400 for the original. But to me that one and the Godzilla Earth are the best SHMA Godzillas. I have the Shin, GvK and 2002 too and they are "okay"....Not worth the aftermarket prices. But I'm like you, the Neca in many ways are just as good if not better, with the downside or accuracy for a few (1984 and 2003 i'm looking at you).

While the 3D printer suggestion is a good suggestion and all, but the thing is; 3D printed plastic ain't durable unlike regular, durable opaque plastic. It's definitely best to buy and find a new figure or replacements for it.
