Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. Your set-up is amazing and inspiring. Just purchased the carch mode 110. Ordered a lot of parts but debating on your front mount option. How is the flex of the hull feel with the motor being upfront? Also, do you think the 30 is enough thrust for the Minn Kota? Or would you go higher? Again thanks for the vids. Your basically sold me on the 110!
@ARKAYAKFISHING
@ARKAYAKFISHING Месяц назад
No problem Tony. Thank you for watching. I love the motor being up front. Just makes casting to spots so easy. The minn kota 30 is more then enough for the kayak. I've ran 45s and 55s before. 55s are just a waste of money and battery. 45s are ok. I ran one for over a year on this kayak. I liked it. Just overall like the 30 the best. The kayak hull handles it great. Hardly any flex. Overall these kayak are built really well. I've just been really impressed with the durability of it. Hope that helps. Appreciate your comments! Happy fishing! 🎣

I was able to raise the seat 4" with 1/2" PVC T Joints, 1/2" pvc pipe, and a heat gun to get it on the seat base ends. I spray painted it black, used a little PVC glue and friction taped on the T joints on bottom. Works great and really inexpensive. It does make the yak a bit more shifty but added Scotty stabilizers so fixed that problem!

You've got at least $1000+ in the kayak, battery, Garmin & trolling set-up right? You might consider a PWM motor control because the switch from the troll motor uses way too much power at any speed.
@ARKAYAKFISHING

Now that you have used it for awhile, does the steering seem choppy or jerky, or is t=it smooth to operate? I love the set up and want to do this to mine, but was just curious about how it does with the joystick steering!
@ARKAYAKFISHING
@ARKAYAKFISHING 5 месяцев назад
I wouldn't say it's jerky because it doesn't move that fast when you hit the joystick. At first it'll seem sensitive too someone that's never used it before. But you get use to it pretty fast. I wouldn't won't it to go any faster or slower turning. To me it's just right. I think you'll love it when you get use to it.

@ARKAYAKFISHING

Thanks! Glad I could help and thanks for watching. You can use the factory speed control switch inside the head of your trolling motor for controlling forward and reverse of the motor. Why did you mount it to the front instead of the transom mount on the back that’s made for it?
@ARKAYAKFISHING
@ARKAYAKFISHING 4 месяца назад
It's kind of a personal preference thing for most people. But also it gives you alot more control over the kayak in any condition. Especially in heavy wind and waves. Also if you control the front of the kayak you can easily control the way your pointing to where your wanting to cast too. I put a trolling motor on the back of my first pelican. And after a few weeks it went to the front. And that's how all my kayaks have been since.

I like it that way because it gives you alot more control over your kayak. And makes it more fishable. Especially in tight places.
