I use to budget. But now I find it a massive waste of time, creating categories, entering figures into apps/web apps ever time I spend. Sometimes I can't track everything like going to the market where I don't get a receipt and can only use cash. Now I simplify everything by creating two accounts, spending (bills, grocery, household, discretionary) the rest is investments and savings. I have a single set figure for spending that I don't need to pinch pennies whatever is left at the end of the year gets moved to investments. I find it easier to make more money that budgeting.
What you described is a budget Lol. Budgeting doesn’t only mean tracking every single penny you spend. If you have a set figure for your individual expense categories then you have a budget.
Thanks for the information... I have been dogging the budget monthly .. I try to manage my money however it don't work out most times . So I am really going to try that method
I have been using the enveloped method for years now , back then I didn't know it was even a "thing" as a matter of fact before the envelope method I used an old diary labeled each page just like the envelope.
Plan out your month and break it down week by week. By planning our the entire month, you can prepare for when you have monthly bills due such as utilities and rent. There are two ways you can do this: 1) Dedicate one week's pay to bills, the other week to stocking up on food, etc. 2) Dividing your big monthly bills by 4 so you know how much you need to set aside each week towards each bill
