Yea, up/downvotes and comments show engagement, so it helps. The only thing that doesn't really is ignoring something and blacklisting the channel. So if you leave a downvote, or a negative comment, it only helps a channel.

Wait until their contract renewals to see. They aren’t at will and therefore firing them likely saves them no money. Barstool still pays out the contract, but just no longer get content.

I like to keep the distinction that a corporate job...is a just a job and not a place I want to stay more than I have too. As I have learned that in the end in corporate business...all employees are mainly there to make them money and replaceable.

They explained in pretty simple terms why revenue is generally more important than net profit. A growing company needs to capture market share then let the economies of scale work in their favor. Amazon is a perfect example if you're still not understanding this.

That doesn't really work for media. So you too have no understanding of business.

They are just like your standard marketing agency, on buying, placement, profits model. There are no complex revenue intangibles, multi-faceted drivers, difficult hurdles to realize, and unique systems for rev generation at digital media companies and agencies alike. Simply put, you have a small list of costs, and an even more simplified list of profit engines. Barstool simply spends their paid customer/partners monies via media placements on: digital content, in-house engagement funnel, podcasts, and live experiences- ie full service entertainment funnel, to incentivize those customers to spend their money for positive measurable results, from a new brands product sales down to simply a happy paying fan after a hockey event. Then ultimately, gain market share, relevance, and maintain disruptive presence through published content. It's one of the most simple models in all of business, and he's absolutely right. Profitability first is absolutely vital for media companies and agencies in harboring growth, resilience, stability, and good results long term. You either provide value for clients/customers, and/or generate impactful content, while keeping spending minimal and simple, and win, or not, and lose. Or worse, not win, while also sticking your thumbs in to way too many buckets, in undefined lanes, with no winning direction or decisive generator to stand on (like Vice), and lose big time. Dave is wrongly informed on numerous points regarding sports gambling engines. Yeah, many have failed for various reasons. And there are obligations and regulations; in turn, litigations. However, the players aren't in that game because they lose money. In fact, their profits are absolutely enormous, and staying in lane is absolutely necessary for revenues, with top 40% market share following suit. Sportsbooks and online casinos at the top are absolute profit hounds. Even more so now, as spending overseas is so incredibly simplified and cheap, and readily available for all sectors of a company when it used to be just a few. Legal language and national/worldwide compatibility is simply a cost number fully calculated in to the model. The top 25 names in the industry are absolute cash cows, and will continue to maintain that profitability at an endless rate, slightly less in a poor economy and wildly more in a great one. They will fight tooth and nail to continue to do so no matter what the cost, because of the simplicity and these overarching gains. Barstool as a theory would have been great, however the biggest stipulation in the gambling space is regarding advertising and spokespersons. It could never work whatsoever. Dave is just salty it couldn't moving forward.
