When i was dropping music, i use to be so worried about making music and trying to get my friends to bump it or trying so hard to maybe get this one music critic to like one of my songs but then i realized my music won't be for everybody and began making music that those who actually rock with my music would enjoy as well spending more time on songs then just trying to get it done in onw stuido session because having a legit song done in 20 music thats cap unless they are talking about just getting there hooks and verses done, then yeah that can be done in 20 minutes but mixed in 20 minutes?? At that point you truly just recorded Bullsht because some song ill have recorded and wouldn't comeback to for a month to a couple months and still have more worked to be done it.

I think that the last entry applies the most to younger music listeners (getting hurt over/caring a lot about others music opinions). Not saying there aren't older people that still act like that but you get my point. I'll say this: that mindset is immature. I’m going to sound like a Stan but I genuinely don’t have a least favorite song on The Marshall Mathers LP at one point in time every song on the album was my favorite . The fact that was the example in the video I found hilarious 😂.

One thing I will point out is I always stay up on the music especially the new music every Friday and I listen to all of it and a few albums... The songs I really like I'll put them on my playlist but the songs I think are "Okay" or "Have Potential to grow on me" I put them in my like list ...as for albums I listen to all the tracks and put them all on my playlist just in case the ones I don't really like that much "Grow on me"

That 2nd point is everything. I thought it was me tripping when it takes me a hour or so to do a song & hopefully have the energy to do another one. My 15 or so unfinished song projects that been sitting around for months or a year over sounds normal compared to dude's 300 unmixed songs that got took. 😂 & i feel like if a producer hogging that many beats like nick mira, they are pretty selfish. Some of those beats they feel are "trash" for a bigger artist to hop on might be the banger beat for an upcoming artist and could get them in the door.

As a huge Chris Brown fan, I can admit that he's had a few songs on every album that I wasn't a fan of. Either it was the production or the lyrics itself that just didn't sit right with me. I love most of his songs but there's also those 1 or 2 songs that irritate me or they're just flat out trash.

I love scorpion but I absolutely deleted like 7 tracks from it. It's a great album but it's too much music on it. Some of the lower quality songs take away from the acclaim that album would've gotten.

He has loads and loads of songs compared to the ones mentioned, and it’s not just different songs but songs that has different versions, throwaways, demos, etc. Unlike them, he only picks the songs that really enhances the concept of the albums he’s making, however, some songs put in the vault based of the leaks happening etc

On point 2 i do get what you mean, on the beat aspects. It is possible to have 10,000 beats. My library now of FLPs is 700 and i started in october. The thing with beats is that, they are subjective. I have had people legit like my trash beats and rapped on them, the ones i hated I guess business is business. I have sold flps to top producers with beat blocks, so having that on you is great. But the aspect of quantity over quality is true. Beats are fire when they are made, come back 3 months and cringe

i agree with most except for what you were saying around the 10 minute mark. as someone who works with people who make music, having 300 unfinished songs is something artist do. sometimes you get a hook or melody in your head and you don’t wanna lose it, you’ll record it, jot it down, and come back to it later on. now yes having a lot of songs means there’s a higher chance of bad music, but it’s far better to record a bunch of music and dice it down to the best, rather than these artist clearly not trying and throwing together whatever. not excusing lazy songs but having a bunch of music doesn’t mean what you were saying around the 9-10:30 mark.

The standard that album and you can't say its your least favorite song thats cap. Maybe at the beginning because your just freshly listening to it for the first time but after a second or 3rd listen it should be easy to know. For example, Graduation by Kanye West & Zuu by Denzel Curry are albums that my personal 10/10 but i can tell you from both my most least favorite song on Graduation is Drunken Hot Girls and On Zuu is Automatic. Heck you can have a album were every song is a LEGIT BANGER a album thats 12 songs long and really no skips at all and its ok to say this your least favorite song on the album. Its not saying that its bad, its that this album is filled to the brim with greatness and this the quote on quote weakest song that on other albums would be its BEST Song I.E.
