This video is amazing cause I play marimba in my marching band and everyone always gives the pit crap about how they “don’t march” so we don’t work as hard, but honestly you try doing 45 second 4 mallet runs at 164 bpm while having 6 blisters that won’t go away
everyone in pit knows the feeling as soon as the drum major going and down we rush our instruments off the field. our pitstruments names are... vibraphone - cleo, xylophone - crappy, big newer marimba - kelon, small old marimba - rose, and the bells don't have a name because nobody likes her :(
At my school, I A M T H E P I T. Seriously, I'm the only person who does the melodic stuff. Of course, we don't really have a true "marching band" that's separate from the concert band, it's more like we just kind of march and do pep band stuff during band class in the fall. (We're really really tiny.) Also my bells are named Meredith, the main xylophone I use is named Jamie, the kind of crappy xylophone is Zoe, and the chimes are the Tubey Bois (because chimes are also called tubular bells).
Man, in my marching band nobody was vocal about hating us becuase most band kids liked us before we did pit. And I was the only one who named my instrument. I played a marimba who I named Billy Bob McGintie, and he would hold my water bottle in his mallet bags so that when the pit had a break, I'd take out my water bottle and stare at wind players and drink water while watching them march
Once my band director told somebody on tenor drums that of he doesn’t start acting right he’s playing in the pit. Even the band director makes fun of us :(
YAY BAND!!!!! I miss band! I know Mr. Weise! I was in the marching band for GCM from 2009-2012! 3:46 hi Mr. Weise! He plays the trumpet 😅! I play the flute! I had Pauly V (Paul Vesilind, Mr. V, the Ves, PVes) as my band director! I love Mr. V! My mom was in charge of the uniforms when I was in the band! I grew up playing the flute! #bandgeeksunite! I'm a band geek!
