I remember going on the first Drag Week in 2005 and the young man with the 62 Tempest rode in a car seat in the back of his Dad's yellow GTO. Time flies
I messed up big time my second time to a track at age 18, and my dad was with me. I rolled a bit past the start line and backed up. The light hit green and I popped the clutch and my chest hit the steering wheel. I hit the brake just in time to get stopped before hitting the car waiting behind me. The guys eyes were as big as a baseball! My dad brought that up at every gathering for the rest of his life... 😧 😎
living your best life guys. you two are the real deal. love your channel and i have shared this with my drag racing friends over here in New Zealand so watch out for more subscribers from this side of the world. Goodluck for the rest of the week will be watching you chip away at those times.
I love these guys ! Great taste in cars, down to earth good people. Make an honest woman out of her bro ! I know a good one when I see her. Enjoy the rest of you journey . I can remember road trips like this with my wife ( then my girlfriend ) in my restored 66 VW camper over 30 yrs. ago when we were your age. Dosen't get any better.
Fantastic video!!! I'm loving this series! Great job of driving Olivia! Your car is running great! Low 13's is not bad at all! Some absolutely beautiful country in that area! So cool to see that River Otter! Hopefully Danny can hook a big one! Maybe try some Surf Perch fishing on the coast? I can't wait for the next one! Safe travels Guys!
Livy, you need scrub the finger grips on the back of your steering wheel. You got some serious scuzz growing on what probably is the bottom dash side of your wheel that you probably never even see🤯🤯🤯
That 65 GTO is beautiful it's the perfect color I had a friend that had a 67 camaro that color and also a friend I worked with at the chevy dealership that had a 68 nova that color if I ever get my hands on a nova camaro or a chevelle I will paint it that color. I really want a 66 or 67 chevelle that color for along time now.
That looks awesome Rocky Mountain Race Week has awesome scenery too going through the Rocky mountains and Sick Week too has cool stops in Florida like Big Daddy Don Garlits drag racing museum and National parts Depot amazing car collection and that race happens in February when the rest of the east coast and many other places are freezing cold and with snow. Those are two awesome drag and drive events that you gotta check out
Many of those trucks come with big blocks. My uncle has a 1971 GMC truck that came factory with a 454. Many of the early 70's 2500 and 3500, 4x4 and suburban trucks came with big blocks from the factory because they were great towing engines and for offroad. I bet that big block is from the factory.
Buddy with the 70 Chevelle that has a diesal engine in it does lot's of Drag and Drive Events I have seen him at RMRW and Sick Week. Looks like he got a paint job since the last time I saw it unless it's not the same guy but I doubt there are two 1970 Chevelle around with Duramax Diesels. It was silver when I saw it last. I think it was Sick Week 2021 I think.
please read your time slip in its intertie its not 13.6 it reads 13.61.1 and so on you would sound much more like you knew what you where doing. ask Dustin lee he will confirm, not knocking you friendly help.
I'm loving the channel.. Thanks for the great content. Just curious, how are your guys getting away with having a registration sticker from 1987 on your back plate??
Cool Rally, cool decal. You guys have a nice car, that's one bad little Pontiac. I'm considering keeping my '72 Olds 350 cubic inch Cutlass Cpe., ala natural. Got to get it running, needs a carburetor, new tires and a few other things, probably take a few grand to get it toad worthy. Thanks for sharing your happy times.
All you Pontiac guys running the Chevy engines. So does it really make it a real Pontiac when it has a heart of a chevy? to me it don't it makes it a Chevy with a Pontiac badge just like the pontiacs that came from the factory with Chevy and Oldsmobile engines in them
Was great being next door to you several times in the pits. I bet those otters ate all your fish too! Was weird seeing my car so many times on RU-vid. Great meeting you guys as always.
Congrats on solid strong street car runs ! To compare my old 68 GTO 400 auto on column with 2.93 Posi rear and benefits of ported #16 Pontiac heads on original 400 .030 stock stroke 406 and a 2500 12" stall on original TH400 and a street solid roller cam .566 lift (less after lash) with ported iron intake and QJet and iron HO exhaust manifolds on 225 70 14 Cooper Cobras on original Rally wheels wheels went 13.1@105 about 420 HP at flywheel estimated 93 octane in under 10:1
Need to shift 3rd gear sooner 200/300rpm? Run lower air pressure 22/25lbs,? 20 haha why not ya. What's your reaction time? 104 can be in the mid 12 s with good launch.
I had a '67 Tempest and '64 GTO. Fastest I ever went down the quarter was 14.0 @ 100 mph. She beat my time (with a column shifter no less). Sorry for the old man rant. 😊
You were rolling through the water, should have done a burnout, then tighten up the shocks to control hop, but you most likely Will get less 60ft. Times hooking if it has a tighter converter. Next track stop do a burnout.
I saw that 62 tempest early in the video and thought hope they don’t blow that up. Those cars are one of my fav unknown gems. Haven’t had the space for one yet. Shhhh. Their weird. You don’t want one.
We just got back from a you tube content creators drag race event called the No Name Nationals and had a blast with my 66 Tempest, have fun and safe travels!
everyone else: "we're here to race!" you: "we'll go down the track to see what the car will do, but we're going fishing & enjoying the whole thing!" I've bracket raced with the guy in the blue/white Vega you raced on the first pass, great guy/racer.
