My Practical 'Pocket EDC' Altoids Tin 

Hey, thanks for the view and for stopping by. Yeah, checks take up no space, allow you to (presumably) carry thousands of dollars on you, and can be burned for fire starting. Also gives someone an address in case someone finds you/it. Handy. That magnetic USB cable is a game changer for smaller items (charges at like 300mAh, not really enough to juice up your phone unless it is overnight). Top up battery packs, Bluetooth earbuds, flashlights, game controllers, MP3 players, ect, just by placing the item near the cable. Video to follow.

Thanks for the compliments. 👍 I believe MeZillch is the channel I learned the paper clip from. The benefit of carrying a paper clip, with the added safety of blocking the lighter. Genius idea. A few people have liked the check so far. Takes up the same space as a single dollar, while allowing you access to hundreds of dollars. 👍

I totally agree about the wrench. I thought that the mod was supposed to just reduce the weight, and then my mind was about to tune out, but when I saw it, I was so impressed. A chisel would be good for shaping wood.

Hi friend, thanks for the comment. I'll say I recently had to use a thick roll of tape, and the final foot or so was difficult to unwind, but it stores away nicely. I also wrap it around a zip tie, and hang it from a keychain by the ziptie ratchet head. You can make zipper pulls or whatever out of it. 👍

Thanks for the comment and feedback. This is just an idea of practice stuff that fits in a practice container. I see a lot of videos with wiz-bang, expensive items with custom bags and all, but I wanted to show that you could use any container to carry anything you would ACTUALLY use. It's my "mobile junk drawer". I have a roll of duct tape wrapped around a ziptie, so I can hang the zip tie on a hook or whatever, and have a couple meters of tape on hand.👍It is thicker than can fit in this case, so I keep it in my bag.

Also, I have a video on "EDC challenge", which would be a grata way for you to see what it is you ACTUALLY use in a month, and then decide if you want to start buying/carrying the tools/items. It might give you an idea on how to start EDCing.

@@OutsideTheTargetDemographic In every area of our lives, we have things that we need the most. Even if we don't carry these items with us, it's still useful to have collections of items. Just today, my dad asked for a bandage. He's getting old and forgetful. I gave him 1, but if I could collect all the useful things that he has and put them in a mobile junk drawer, then it would be helpful for him and me. The place would be less cluttered, and I would have less stuff to declutter when he passes away. Having all the stuff ready is super convenient. "Mobile junk drawer" is the best perspective.

@@eugenetswong The idea isn't "I need this", it's "I have this in CASE I need this". And while I carry a few bandaids, it isn't because I am the injury-prone one, but because I have two toddlers and a wife, and extended family. My planning can prevent someone else extended discomfort. 👍

Hey thanks for the comment and for stopping by my channel. I kind of just pulled stuff out of my junk drawer that I know I'd use and put it in a container that I know I carry. Nothing special but everything I in there is used on a weekly basis.

I see a lot of channels saying "oh this $80 box cutter is the only way to open a box, I use it all the time" when the thing is clearly brand new and doesn't have a scratch on it. I'm trying to show that items you keep in the junk drawer (money, sticky note, paper clip, tape, ect.) is really all you need. If you will USE it, you could CARRY it. 👍It's about the principle of carrying and being prepared, not the product, per se.

@@OutsideTheTargetDemographic Yep, you never know what you might need Medical maladies occur all the time with everyone, especially kids, so medical tape and super glue is handy to have. Especially when one out hiking So easy to cut oneself on a rock or a small fall.

I'll tell you, my magnetic USB cable is the Uslion brand, and while they don't seem to take longer to charge high-power items (cellphone), they are indispensable for Bluetooth earbuds, rechargeable flashlights, USB battery backups, and smaller items. My cable came with a USB micro, C, and iPhone lightning bolt adaptor, so I can have multiple, various-USB-port items charge from a single cable. A side benefit is you are less liekyl to get sand, dirt, mud, snow, water, ect inside the charging port, as it has the magnetic puck in it. Wow, thanks for the sub and watch! New to the game, throwing my hat in the ring. 🍻 Modding the wrench made it lighter, shorter, and gives me a way to grip up to a 1/2 inch bolt or nut. 😎

I have few lengths and colors of zip ties on hand, and length/colors of rubber bands. Now that you know you want to carry them, NOW you get to decide How to carry them. 😉 It could be as easy as having a few on your gear select in your car, or one along side your watch on your wrist.

Hey, thanks for the view and comment. Umm, without rewatching the video: no, the earbud doesn't act as a power source, but with the magnetic chargeing plug allows me to keep it charged (see my video on my magnetic charging cable).

Hi friend! Glad you liked the video. 😁 So far, I have not had issues with another accepting the folded cheque. The most used method for me is using a bank app to take pictures of a cheque and deposit it to an account, and the folds do not seem to be an issue during that process. As long as the ink is dry and legible, you shouldn't have an issue. 👍

@@OutsideTheTargetDemographic Thank you for replying Currently I have kept Victorinox Classic SD knife in my Altoids tin. But now I wish to keep Victorinox Climber in it. But will it fit in Altoids tin because Climber is 91 mm in length ?

@@Pritam043 a 91mm will be VERY tight, and it has to be narrower than the tin. The "bowl" of the tin is about 3/4 inch. My Swiss Champ looks to be just able to fit, so the Climber should too.

Hello Bob, Ehhhhh, I do not recall cutting it down, no. I got it (and most things) ar Dollar Tree, and I believe the cap was already this size, which is why it slipped right into my kit. 👍I think it comes in a 3 or 4 pack like this.

Upon using the glue recently, I did see that I did have to cut the cap down a bit. I don't remember WHAT I cut off, but it looks like I did. 👍
