I talk about my approach and philosophy in capturing a wedding that covers the scope of why I love doing so.
From 2020 to 2024 I captured everything on the Canon R5 camera system. But I recently sold it all and now shoot exclusively on the Fujifilm GFX 100 II camera system. Capturing images on medium format with today's technology is truly the golden age of photography.

Those images are SO dang crispy! I'd expect nothing less with 102 MPs. Absolutely insane. Autofocus for me would be the tipping point between staying or going. I, too, have shot Canon throughout my photography career and would be hesitant to change based on that alone. I wouldn't even mind the huge file sizes if they're going to look like THIS!

One of the sad things about being a wedding photographer and I do weddings as well. Is that 70% of our work will end up delete it yes because unfortunately 70% of marriages end and I've been thinking about this as a photographer so because I'm a counsellor by day as well I'm trying to capture images that may actually potentially help people stay together and you make a good point about showing the love story not just capturing it. It is interesting that 70% of marriages will now end .... As for the GFX camera I also shoot GFX as well and it's a wonderful tool. I would highly recommend it. It's actually one of those cameras that get you to slow down. I don't have the newer model but I'm looking at the S model that's just been leased. I've actually shot weddings with a 50 Sii with a fast lens. It's possible.
