What are you boiling there

Regarding self portrait and the recording of visual fact: Painting from mirror is in fact a still life painting of a mirror. The mirror in all its presentation of real life is in fact a two dimensional surface. Everything in the mirror is exact opposite as it is in real life. You the artist looking in mirror with brush in right hand, the mirrors reflection shows person with brush in left hand. A mole on the left cheek is now on the right cheek. It is not possible to see your face in three dimensional arena. Photo, video, reflective surface are all two dimensional although photo has brush in the correct hand, an indication the artist used photo reference..and possibly traced. It would seem at first to look at painting made from a mirror source that has things turned backwards, then view the painting in a mirror to reverse the reversing of the mirror to see accurate of likeness, but it does not work that way. It is rare to see a traditional based portrait with light coming from the right of the subject in contrast to the established norm of light narrative from off to the left of subject, surely an established norm due to the fact that Europeans read left to right.
